I Failed exam 70-511 with 686 score. I was confident of through this exam in the 3rd attempt. But why I was failed? Can I revisit the evaluation method? I cant attempt one more time for this small margin failure. Please advise.
PS: I am an HP employee having licensed Visual studio 2010 s/w
I have 4Years experience in .NET and Windows Application development with VC++ and C#
WPF experience of 6months

of the time how well I am going to do in the final score based on how confident I am on the answers that I am giving. In this exam, I was convinced that most of my answers were correct, so I was expecting a high score, possibly close to 900. So I
was very surprised at the final failing grade. I am left with the impression that there must be some anomaly in the way that this exam is scored, when compared with other MCP exams.

My PDFs with form fields get "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." on anothers computer, PC and MAC

Im creating PDFs through InDesign and using Acrobat Pro 9 to add fields. I save them to allow ADobe Reader people to use them. Everything works fine on Pro and Reader on my end with a PC as well as someone elses PC. But one person using Mac said some forms work and some dont. Those that dont get the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." Ive resaved them and made sure they work and same problem. There is nothing overly coplex about the PDFs either, a date field at the most. They are using Reader 9.1.
I found out the other day that one person who can open them adds info to them saves them and send over to that other person and cannot open any of them after they have been edited, same error. He even tried on a PC and still gets it.
I dont know what to do. I know it has to be on his end and not mine. What else can I suggest to him??

It sounds like they are using an earlier version of Acrobat or Reader, though you said Reader 9.1. If you add some features in AA9 that are new, it appears that earlier versions see the new features as damaged files. At least that is my guess. Try using Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize to save to an earlier version and see if that helps. The other option is that you are getting them messed up in e-mail because many client look at PDF files as ascii and do not encrypt them. In that case force the encryption. You can also send them in ZIP form.

I was having the same issue up until I found a solution myself a few minutes ago. If you have "Accept Third Party Cookies" un-checked it will not allow the embedded "Third party" youtube videos to load. You can either Check the box to allow third party cookies or add an exception to allow youtube.com WITHOUT the www. You just want it to be Youtube.Com.
To do so just go to Tools: Options: Privacy: Exceptions: Type in Youtube.com and click Allow. Then click Close and OK. It should start working immediately.

I tried connecting to iTunes but it wasn't detecting the phone and I can't do anything with it now... Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.

With Reader XI There was an error opening this document. Access denied

Hi there, It looks like I have a simular problem. I also get the error "There was an error opening this document. Access denied." This when I tried to open the file by clicling on the file. When I try to open the file from out Adobe reader it gives me the error "You don't have permission to open the file" I use Adobe XI. My OS is W8.1 By clearing protected mode doesn't help. This is what I found sofar: Only the PDF files in the documents and subfolders are giving me this error. PDF files in other folders are fine. When I copy PDF files from the documents folder to Desktop they open without any problem. First I thought I might be a permission problem with the Documents folder, but I have full access. Other files in the Documents folder like Word and Excel files open fine with MS Office. My laptop has WinXP and is shared with my PC when I open PDF files on my laptop by using the network share they open without problems. So it looks like only the PDF files in my Documents folder. I'm not sure but before upgrading to W8.1 from W8.0 I can't remember if I had this problem, but I think I did not have it. To make it even more interested is that I have also Adobe Acrobat Writer on my PC what I use for my buisiness. When I open the PDF files with this program they open without any problem. Therefore I believe it is not a permission problem, I still believe it is a problem with Reader XI, but than only after upgrading to W8.1, but as I already mentioned I'm not sure for 100% only that sofar I know it never happened under W8. Has anyone out there simular problems? And hopefully with a fix.

This is what I did sofar: Deleted reader XI and reinstalled same problem.
Because I think the problem is with reader XI I deleted again XI and installed reader X.
With this version I can open PDF files located in the documents folder without any problem.
For now I keep using version X until they fixed version XI
This proves that reader XI will not work under W8.1 when opening PDF files in de documents folder.

When I try to install 3.6.18 I get a message that the installation failed because an other copy of Firefox was running. But this is not the case. How may I install the downloaded new version?

I have tried to install this new version several times, but each time I got the same message. I have no other program running on the PC when I perform this installation. My present version is 3.6.16.

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

I can no longer open torrent files with transmission without downloading them; I could do this easily before the most recent update, how do I make this right??

I tried to get a torrent file today, normally I tell firefox to open with transmission, today it wasn't an option. I tried to go to preferences and change it there but torrent files weren't even an option. Yesterday it worked fine, but after last nights update I can't get it to work at all.

Similar problem here. My Ical refuses to edit or delete events. Viewing is possible, though sometimes the whole screen turns grey. Adding new events from mail is still possible. The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall.

Following an update of Friefox to version 5.0 I have had trouble with a file which was deemed malicious by AVG antivirus software, the file is ASC.EXE - is this file part of my update, or do I have a virus which needs deleting?

Firefox does not seem to have fully updated, so I suspect that this file which has been blocked by AVG anti-virus is an element of the update (it was created around 10 minutes after the update began).

I've been keeping my passwords in an application called 1Password. I was assured (by a knowledgeable user, not by anyone official) that when I upgraded to Firefox 5.0, the 1Password addon would be updated ... But that doesn't seem to have happened. Hello, im having problem with my new hdd and doing recovery.
My old hdd got bad sectors and i decide to buy new hdd to replace it. I didnt have the recovery dsc, so i ordered one from hp web site and got the system recovery dvd (dsk 1-3) and application and driver recovery dvd. Problem starts after i install new hdd on my laptop.
First, i started laptop and pressed f9 and run the dsk 1 system recovery dvd. It went fine to disk 3 and asked me to put special disk that came with the cd after system recovery, so i gave application and driver recovery dvd. when it ends with all thos install and setting i get thos screen saying " the recovery attemp has failed"... I tried 4 times and im still getting this message at the end. One time i saw my laptop screen like normal, it asked me to restart now or later. I clicked later but it just rebooted and gave me the same message again...
Please help me with this problem im not sure what to do to fix this problem.

HOWTO: xorg-server with no hal dependency (was: xorg-server-screw-hal)

it annoys me that hal and evdev are hard depends of xorg-server-1.5.3 and autoAddDevices is enabled by default. i realize the fix is actually fairly trivial, but there's just someting inelegant about installing a package, disabling a feature, then uninstalling the dependencies for that feature. so here's a PKGBUILD that suits my taste. maybe it'll make your life just a bit easier.
EDIT: SCRATCH EVERYTHING BELOW. the change to the patch will almost guarantee failure if you do this my way. it doesn't change the default config; it removes the configuration option enitrely. i get 'epic fail' for that one. also, x still complains and fails to start if libhal.so.1 is missing, even if you're not using it. grrrr....
p.s.: you'll want to open xserver-1.5.3-AEI-on-by-default.patch, go to line 101, and change TRUE to FALSE. this turns off autoAddDevices by default. then run makepkg -g and replace the last md5 sum with the new for the changed patch file.

ok, so i'm almost embarassed to post this. it's actually pretty trivial. nevertheless, might as well finish what i've started.
re-statement of the problem:
1) xorg-server 1.5.3 depends on hal and evdev in order to provide input hotplugging.
2) input hotplugging can be turned off, as decsribed here: Arch Wiki Xinput Hotplugging Page. however, x still requires libhal.so.1 at runtime or it fails. (it took me ages of googling to figure out that this is indeed the case.)
3) therefore, xorg-server must be rebuilt without hal if you'd like to run v.1.5.3 without installing hal.
how-to correct it:
1) sync abs tree
2) copy xorg-server from the abs tree to your local build directory
3) remove 'hal' and 'xf86-input-evdev' from the depends array
4) change --enable-config-{hal,dbus} to --disable-config-{hal,dbus} (apparently the server has *some* support for input hotplugging through dbus without hal. apparently, it also sucked. so my method is to turn off both, entirely.)
5) makepkg
6) pacman -U
7) add xorg-server to IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf. the next time xorg-server is upgraded, pacman -Syu will give you a warning and the opportunity to exit. this is your notice to rebuild and upgrade your local xorg-server.
8?) i suppose you could go through the patches that are applied to xorg-server and figure out which aren't needed. that would be all neat and clean, but probably not necessary.
