Failed in receiving MMS messages as well as failed sending pictures and text messages

Hello,
I have had this issue for a while.  Picture messages being sent or received most times will not work.  Also text messages fail to send quite a few times and I usually have to resend it to get it to work.   I have called verizon wireless about this before and they just had me do the roaming capability updates and did not fix the issue.  If anyone has some insight into why this happens let me know.

Hello coltrain50411. I can understand your concern with the messages. This issue may be resolved by following the steps below:
- Power off the device and remove the battery
- Place the battery back in the device and power on
- Turned off auto add callback number in settings
- Dial *228 + Send and choose option 2
Try sending a picture message, I hope this works. If the issue persists, please get in contact with us directly.
Thank you,

I have the iPhone 6 plus. I have no troubles sending and receiving text messages. I can also send pic messages but I cannot receive them. I have T-mobile and have been calling them for the past 2 months but the issue hasn't been resolved. Anyone has a similar issue, please help.

    Hello Soccergump,
For issues with sending and receiving text messages, take a look at the article below to continue your troubleshooting. You may need to sign out of iMessage and sign back in as well as resetting the network settings. One other thing to check is to make sure that your friends did not get blocked from being able to send you messages.

  • Receiving MMS messages on the iPhone

It is really very cumbersome to be directed to an internet site to retreive MMS messages sent to my iPhone. Is Apple working a fix for this that will allow the phone to receive MMS messages. While they are working on that, I hope, why not add a video recording capability MPEG to the phone as well.

Hi, I have some advice. I myself greatly missed MMS when I bought my iPhone, (but I knew beforehand, I just bought it anyway because the pro's outweighed the cons...) but I found a workaround. Cellphones all use an email-type delivery for SMS and MMS messages. So based on this knowledge, you can send an email to a cell phone and they will receive it as if it were a text. You have to use a special email address though. Supposing their number was (888)777-6666 this would be the email addresses for 5 of the main carriers in the US:
    AT&T: [email protected]
    Sprint: [email protected]
    T-Mobile: [email protected]
    Verizon: [email protected]
    Virgin Mobile: [email protected]
The trick here is remembering what all these are when you need them, so here's a solution to that problem as well. Add a second email address (corrosponding with the list above based on their service provider) to the contacts that you use this feature with. Then whenever you want to send a picture, just send it like an email but use the special address for their cell phone and they will recieve it! Unlimited usage! And I'm not positive about all companies, but I know T-Mobile customers can sent an MMS to your email address and you will receive it as an email!
I hope this helped! Get back to me if you have any questions or problems.

  • Experiencing issues sending/receiving MMS messages after updating to iOS 6

I, like so many others, have been experiencing problems sending/receiving MMS messages after updating to iOS 6.  Other than that, I really do like the new update.  I have an iPhone 4S with Verizon.  I have been to Verizon, and the issue is not with my plan; it is definitely with the update.  My friend updated her phone also, but her phone is just the iPhone 4.  She does not experience these issues.  Is Apple aware and trying to fix the problem?  It is soooo frustrating!  I cannot send/receive picture messages, nor can I send/receive group messages.  ---  Has anyone come up with a solution to fix it yet, or is it something that Apple will have to do?
    Thanks in advance.

I also am having the same problem. I can't send a pic to anyone who doesn't have iMessage. Also, I don't always get the alert when I have a new message. I never had this problem before I updated to IOS 6. I have AT&T & an iphone4. It's isn't jail broken. I've been reading forums for a couple weeks now and apparently it has something to do with the apn. And I don't know how or even if I can change it. Then I also read it might have something to do with a damaged SIM card. And it might have been damaged when we updated. But those are just theories.

  • I upgraded my iphone and now I don't receive MMS messages

Does anyone know if there are settings I need to change to receive MMS messages again after the update I did last week?

Check that MMS is still turned on in Settings > Messages > Enable MMS.
Have you tried sending one since the update? If you can't send either, does it come up with a red exclamation mark next to the message.
Is it specific people that can't send to you, or everyone?
Which update did you get (you can check this in Settings > General > About).

  • KIN One m won't receive mms messages

My KIN ONEm won't receive mms messages, I've had the problem once or twice before and every time it's happened it shows this error message "someone sent you a message but it can't be retrieved right now" with the error code "3-4003" it's fixed itself in recent times, but this time it's been going on for a few hours and it won't get fixed, what should I do?

I had the same problem and fixed it by going into:
settings, wireless & networks "more", mobile networks, then you need to "enable" data access over Mobile networks
It will then have a check mark on "data enabled"
After I did that I immediately was able to send and receive MMS.

  • Can i send and receive mms messages in my ipad ?

how i can send and receive mms messages in my ipad?

You should be able to do this through the iMessage app if the other person is connected through an apple device If not however there are plenty of apps on the app store that you would be able to use to send pics as long as the other user has a smart phone (does not have to be apple)... for example WhatsApp, Kik, Skype etc Hope that this helps!

  • Difficulty receiving MMS messages

MMS messages. . . photos are slooooooooooow to download to the point of not caring to even to see them. And a group message (including any related responses made my anyone in the group also using MMS) may take hours or days to come through at all. I have both WiFi and 4G (or available service) turned on, with WiFi to be used when available; and Group messaging is turned off. Where am I going wrong? The trouble started within the past 2-3 weeks, after the latest update.
    Thanks for the help!

mynameisjack, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your MMS issues. Lets get to the bottom of this. Just a heads up, you are only to receive MMS messages via data (3G or 4G) and not on wifi. Be sure to temporarily turn off wifi and make sure some data connection is made to be able to receive the message. If you are using a 3rd party application it might work over wifi, but if it is the messaging app that came with the device, then it will only come thru via data. If turning wifi doesn't help, try to go to settings>Apps>All>messages> force stop and clear data/cache. Here is a troubleshooting support page that can also help http://vz.to/1dXZprQ Keep us posted on the progress so we can get your device back into gear in no time. Thanks

  • Cannot send or receive MMS messages!!

I cannot send or receive MMS messages on my BT mobile HTC S620.  Also I keep getting the BT Set-up screen yet it won't proceed past the first step of four!  I have re-set this handset back to factory settings and updated the software via computer/download, however, I cannot find a solution to get my MMS messages! Help please?  (By the way wireless, emails and SMS messages work fine.)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sounds like something has gone wrong with regards to the MMS settings and looks like you'll need to re-enter them.
The settings I found for it as follows:
    Access point name: mobile.bt.uk
    Username: user
    Password: btmms
    Authentication: Normal
    Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP address: 212.183.137.012 or 62.239.21.123
    Session mode: Permanent
    URL address: http://mms.bt.com/servlets/mms or http://mmsc.btmms.co.uk:8002
We have also been told that the following settings may work for a corporate BT Mobile: APN: btmobile.bt.com , username:bt , password:bt, port:8799 , IP address:212.183.137.12
    My Motto:
Going to kill my HomeHub 2 very soon.

  • Blackbery Bold does not send or receive MMS messages

When I receive an MMS it says Not Retrieved Yet and when I click "download now"  it says "receiving content" but it is not downloaded. I have reset the device by removing battery and SIM card. I confirmed with my provider that I have the ability to receive MMS. Everything is checked to receive MMS messages. I also cannot send an MMS. It attaches a pic but cannot send. I receive SMS texts.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should again contact your mobile service provider for formal support and potential formal escalation to BB for enhanced support.
    Good luck!

  • TS2755 I carnt receive mms messages on my iPhone 4 on 02 paygo

I carnt receive mms messages on my iPhone 4 on 02 paygo

    I can't send MMS on iPhone 4s/O2.
Spoke to (online chat) "O2 Guru" who told me it was a problem with all Apple.
Had Max done this, he would have received the same reply and would be on here (as I am) rather than writing to O2.
Anyway, these are user forums - not "writing to Apple" where users can share their experiences and, hopefully, solutions.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Since moving my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.4 to straight talk I cannot send or receive mms messages. How can I fix that?

Help me please... Since moving my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.4 to straight talk I cannot send or receive mms messages. How can I fix that?

Since Straight Talk, using a GSM iPhone is not "officially" supported, you're gonna have to configure the APN settings manually. Go here:
    http://www.unlockit.co.nz/unlockit/
This site is a collection of APN setting for unsupported GSM carriers. This is a good place to get the correct settings for your phone.

  • Having horrible service with 4GLTE I have had 3G for several weeks (I am not the only person I know having this problem), I have reset my network settings and it did not resolve the issue.  I am also unable to send SMS and text messages without them eithe

Having horrible service with 4GLTE I have had 3G for several weeks (I am not the only person I know having this problem), I have reset my network settings and it did not resolve the issue.  I am also unable to send SMS and text messages without them either failing or not sending at all.  Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?

Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.
