Failed Mavericks download corrupts Safari
Trying to update to Mavericks (from Mountain Lion 10.8.5) failed due to low bandwith.
In the process, Safari got corrupted (shows as "not-responding").
Any way to get Safari working again (under OsX 10.8.5)?
Low bandwidth?
The issue is that you need to restore OS X using OS X Recovery and that requires a high speed broandband connection.
How did you download Mountain Lion? That was a 4.35GB file.

Do I have a Safari problem? Since downloading 10.9.2 Safari no longer loads YouTube videos on my iMac. Firefox downloads the same videos from YouTube with ease.
Safari > Preferences > Security > Internet Plug-ins
Checkmark the box beside "Allow Plug-ins".

Why did my pages and Safari not update with the Maverick download?
After the Maverick download: My Safari looks and acts the same. My pages look and act the same. My Iphoto icon has changed , but there are no changes in I photo either, though I was asked to update the library.
The only thing I see differnt after the Maverick download is I have maps.
Was that it? The discription of Maverick sounds much differnt. We are all busy with many other problems in Pages 5.
Unless you have found some real reason to use Pages 5 just go back to Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications folder, until Apple sorts this all out.

OS X Mavericks 10.9.2. failed to download
I have a Macbook Pro with retina display running on OS x version 10.8.5. It keeps saying 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' when I try to upgrade to 10.9.2. I have tried to upgrade several times, but the dowload never completes. Thanks in advance.
I disabled the auto-updates after the second auto-update yesterday (and after the Time Machine restore to 10.9.1). The update had already been downloaded prior to that. Apps started nagging me this morning about the update - again. There is no "cancel" option, all I do is click on "Remind me tomorrow". I suspect it will install it again anyway in the days ahead, or I may go ahead and do the update and see if the nav bar is still there given the Preferences > General fix. Thanks.

I'm having an error message 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' every time when I try to download it
I'm having an error message 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' or '' An error has occured'' every time when I try to download it,, plz help me to fix it... :/
I have been reading the forum and other sites and no surprise that bugs do creep in from time to time and need to be fixed. Any new OS will come with bugs and i think this is one. Yes they will fix it and then we will be able to download, but I do not think that the problem is due to too much traffic. However, is good to let Apple know about problem, so they can fix it.

Installation Failed The download appears corrupted
I have been trying to download photoshop CC for 5 days. It always fails. with the exact same message: "Installation Failed the Download appears corrupted. Please try again after a few minutes. (-60).
I have chatted two to two help agents and spoke on the phone to another. Everything they have tried has failed. Then they tell me that they are going to escalate the problem and no one calls me back. When I call I get the same low level agent, who can't solve my problem and gets fed up with me only to tell me that they will "escalate" my problem. Escalate apparently means send me to a black hole.
Tonight agent, "Dashmip" told me that I could install Photoshop Cs6 and it would magically heal to CC. When this did not work, he told me that he would 'escalate' problem. Why am I paying so much per month for a program that I can't install!
Can anyone out there help me?Try downloading the installer from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions before clicking on the download link. -
Osx Mavericks failed to download aditional content
Hello,
My Mac mini's hard drive crashed. So i installed a new ssd and found that someone tried to eat my original install dvd.
So i downloaded a mavericks installer.app on my Apple id. at my buddy's house.
I made a bootable USB drive with the installer on it and the installer works fine but the osx macericks installer failed to download aditional content time after time. Even after waiting more than 10 hours. I'm on a 50mb broadband network so that should not be the problem.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Its a Mac mini (mid 2010) 2.4ghz 8 gb 265gb ssdIf your computer is capable of doing Internet Recovery, then you might try that instead:
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery indicates that you can do a firmware update for this.
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
You can skip the steps about partitioning and formatting since you said you've done this already. -

OS X Mavericks failed to download, Use the Purchases page to try again
I was trying to upgrade Mac OS and kept running into this error message when I tried to resume interrupted download. I was able to get around this problem by following steps mentioned below, which were originally posted in this post.
Quit App Store.
Open Terminal.
Execute this: defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
Launch App Store.
At the Menu bar, there should be a "Debug".
Click on that and press "Reset Application"
Restart App Store. -

I asked this question on 4/28 but no answer and can't find my question on this damned board! DOWNLOADED FF4 TO A SAVE FILE, DOUBLE CLICKED ON SETUP (the icon) AND AFTER INITIATING IT STOPS AND STATES: "EXTRACTION FAILED, FILE IS CORRUPT" WHAT IS THE FIX? I use FF3.6.16 on a Tosh laptop with dual processors and 60% of my HD free; Windows Vista, COMODO Internet Security. PLEASE ANSWER AND INSTRUCT HOW IN HELL DOES ONE FIND ONE'S QUESTION IN THIS UNGODLY POOR SUPPORT FORMAT!
Well, we have 2 Antivirus that is separately installed on 2 units. On my notebook, it's symantec, on our desktop, it's mcafee, is it possible to have the same symptoms on different computers? :0
Recently I saw another page on that shows a direct download to an older version of Firefox, so I'll check that out. ><
I'll also try your answer (even though I don't know how to disable it...) Thank You Very Much! :D -

Sometimes it took some time to happen, like after the process is around 50%, or sometimes just happened after a minutes. I tried over 10 times and this still persist! Trying to download Mavericks; it keeps saying the file is corrupt. My time machine backups are gone. What do I do?
These are two separate issues. Most importantly:
My time machine backups are gone.
If you don't have backups, that's first priority. No installing Mavericks for you until you have a good set of backups! For that matter, no doing anything for you until you have a good set of backups. Since one possibility here is that you have a problem with your hard drive, you need to act extremely fast and hope that none of your data is damaged.
Trying to download Mavericks; it keeps saying the file is corrupt.
Once you have the backups taken care of, there are several things that could cause this kind of thing. One is a corrupt hard drive, so repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. Another is a problem with your network connection that is corrupting the data, so try downloading on another network. It could also be caused by some third-party software you have installed, so if all else fails, try downloading while in safe mode. It's also always possible that a transient problem on Apple's end was causing the problem, in which case it should be cured by the time you're trying again. -
