Failed Os5 Update on 3Gs

My 3Gs under 3.1.3 would not upgrade to I-OS5 after 2 attempts.
One took about 10 hours to load and resulted in a warning "Device not eligible for Upgrade".
The second try gave me the sam warning after just a few minutes.
After reading all the problems here, maybe it's a blessing!

Switched Macs, installed new Itine 10.5 on second Mac and it update fine..and restored latest back-up from the main Mac that woulkdn't complete the OS update at all.

OS 5 is facing problem with updating after been updated to iOS 5, iPhone is stuck in recovery mode (Apple logo & black screen repeat repeatedly).

I have just update my 3gs phone to OS5 and back up everything no problem but when I added a new contact on my PC it did not push to my contacts on my phone??

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

I updated my 3GS to os5 and set up icloud and it backed up, although, the backup says incomplete. I turned off the contacts and they are now all gone off the iphone. How do i get them back? I feel like they are in icloud, they are on other iphone i have.

I work for an Enterprise with around 30 devices so far, 5 of them have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 and we are having this issue, the steps below are appearing, these are both on iphone and ipad 2's with exchange 2003:-
- Exchange Calendars not sync'ing, but Yahoo account working fine.
- Create an appointment on the ipad / iphone and this sync's with Exchange.
- Close the Calendar and re-open the appointment disappears, but stay's within Exchange.
- Meetings created within the Exchange Calendar do not synch with the iphone / ipad.
This is starting to cause a lot of issues.

First, disable your antivirus and firewall. If that doesn't fix it check your hosts file. If there are any lines that contain "gs.apple.com" delete them. Locations:
Mac: /etc/hosts
Windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

If you update your 3GS, iOS 6.0.1 will be installed on it...you don't have a choice, as that is the only iOS currently signed by Apple, that is available for your phone.

That would be the wireless number assigned by AT&T when the purchaser of the iPhone signed up as a customer with AT&T. If neither you nor your uncle ever activated the iPhone with AT&T, click the "non customer" button.
Note that jailbreaking often renders it impossible to get an iPhone officially unlocked, so don't be surprised if it fails. If it does, then you may have to buy a new iPhone, this time one that is officially unlocked.

Itunes content is not included in the backup that itunes makes when syncing.
You should always make sure that you have transferred all of your purchased itunes content to your computer before any update.
If you failed to do this, then you can redownload as expalined in the previous post.

HOW as it unlocked? Only the original carrier can unlock the phone. If you used any othe r means to unlock it then it was hacked and now you are the proud owner of a very expensive paper weight. Sorry.

I use to load master data for 0Customer_Attr though daily process chain, it was running successfully.
For last 2 days master data loading for 0Customer_Attr got failed and it gives following error message:
"Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API"
Can anyone tell me what is that error for? how to resolve this issue?

Update mode R error will come in the below case
You are running a delta (for master data) which afils due to some error. to resolve that error, you make the load red and try to repeat the load.
This time the load will fail with update mode R.
As repeat delta is not supported.
So, now, the only thing you can do is to reinit the delta(as told in above posts) and then you can proceed. The earlier problem has nothing to do with update mode R.
example your fiorst delta failed with replication issue.
only replicating and repeaing will not solve the update mode R.
you will have to do both replication of the data source and re-int for the update mode R.
One more thing I would like to add is.
If the the delat which failed with error the first time(not update mode R), then
you have to do init with data transfer
if it failed without picking any records,
then do init without data transfer.

Why are my apps failing to update on iPhone 5 after installing IOS8

My iPhone 5 is failing to update apps. I am using IOS 8 and suspect this may be the problem. Wish I had never upgraded to IOS 8. Has anyone got a way around this problem?

The Apple shop sorted it for me by reinstalling IOS 8. It was thought the IOS 8 download I did had a glitch.

IOS 4 update on 3GS: Album Artwork/author/title missing in some places

Okay, I just updated my 3GS to iOS4 with no dramas, except for the iPod app.
Basically, in Albums mode:
- any album that wasn't from the iTunes Store (i.e. a CD rip) doesn't display its album artwork thumbnail, either in the list view or the new album summary info panel shown above the track listing when you click the album
- in addition, the new album summary panel shows “Unknown Artist” and “Unknown Album” even though the page before (the full Albums list) did in fact show the artist and album title
- however, clicking on a track will in fact show the correct album artwork while the track is playing
In addition, in Cover Flow mode:
- not only do the above affected albums also appear with no artwork,
- but also clicking on them shows *no tracks* at all (whereas they do show up in Albums mode and are successfully playable).
What the?! Anyone else found this? Seems to affect both MP3 and AAC ripped formats (and btw they are legal imports of my own CDs).

I have a similar problem. All of my music won't show the album artwork, and some will even show artwork of a Genius Mix. I rotate to Cover Flow, and everything seems fine there; all of the artwork shows up and the songs are all there. But once I flip to portrait and the Now Playing screen, that artwork disappears and I'm left with that prosaic gray musical note or an ugly Genius Mix artwork with four of my original artworks arranged in a 2-by-2 grid. I set iTunes so that it wouldn't sync my music anymore, synced my iPod, turned music back on, and then synced my iPod again, essentially removing music and putting it back on my device, as the abovementioned suggests.
