  • How do I continue failed patch 6678700 when it quits because of another pat

    Hello EBS Gurus:
I am in the process of upgrading EBS 11.5.10.2 to 12i using document Part No. E16342-03, Note 761570.1& Note 881505.1.
On Part No. E16342-03, I am at Step 10 3:10. Run the American English upgrade patch driver (required), after attempting to resolve a "FAILED: file fem_bal_nacc_hier_l2_mv.xdf on worker 1" as per doc ID 1284055.1, and upon restarting Patch 6678700, all workers quit and adpatch exited after running for over 30 hours.
An attempt to restart "adpatch options=nocopyportion, nogenerateportion" keeps failing as adpatch keeps giving the errors (This patch cannot be applied to your current release.) I had when I ran patch 10406817.
How do I run adpatch so that it continues with patch 6678700 - where it failed? I am running out of time to start this long patch from the beginning?
How long could usually take on an averagely fast server, to install this patch?
    Thanks

The Update could not be installed (patch apply failed)
This response shows up on software update window.
I am still stuck on FF4. Not getting the 5.0 version installed for some reason.

Not a solution I'm afraid, but I also get an error message, 'cept mine states I'm not connected to the internet even though I am.  I'd also like a solution!

The above link talks about 11i. It is the same for R12 except the location of restart files in R12 is in $APPL_TOP/admin/<SID>
Mean while i like to know the difference between adctrl and autopatch restart (i.e the purpose of $APPL_TOP/admin/<SID>/restart ).....Please read the documentation
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B34956_01/current/acrobat/r12adutil.pdf
    Breifly
Using adctrl you can control the workers, like quitting them, restarting them checking the status.
The purpose of restart directory is to store the last status of the workers and other information will be needed if patch needs to be restarted next time.
    Thanks

  • APR 2010 CPU - Patch 9032412 fails error code 73

I am trying to install the apr 2010 cpu updates for apps and db servers. As indicated in doc 985896.1 I am attempting to install patch 9032412 prior to installing the 9352191 cpu patch. When I try to install this on the DB using the latest version of OPatch I get the following error:
    ===========================================================================================
    Running make for target ioracle
ApplySession adding interim patch '9032412' to inventory
    Verifying the update...
Inventory check failed: Patch ID 9032412 is NOT registered in Oracle Home inventory.
Files check OK: Files from Patch ID 9032412 are present in Oracle Home.

OPatch was able to restore your system. Look at log file and timestamp of each file to make sure your system is in the state prior to applying the patch.
The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:
    1) OUI-67620:Interim patch 9032412 is a superset of the patch(es) [  6600051 ] in the Oracle Home
    2) OUI-67124:Inventory check failed: Patch ID 9032412 is NOT registered in Oracle Home inventory.
OPatch failed with error code 73
    ===========================================================================================
opatch lsinventory -all & -detail are successful.
I performed the detach home and attach home steps successfully and this made no difference.
Anyone out there that can shed some light on this perhaps? Thanks

I have not opened an SR yet, looks like I am going to have to do so.
I have run the detach home and rebuilt the inventory and attached home using the command
    runInstaller -silent -invPtrLoc “/oracle10/oracle/oraInst.loc” -attachHome ORACLE_HOME=”/oracle10/oracle” ORACLE_HOME_NAME=”Ora10gHome”
Now inventory is there, but it shows no intermediate patches listed. When I try to apply the 9032412 patch I still get the same error "Inventory check failed: Patch ID 9032412 is NOT registered in Oracle Home inventory." and there is no mention of the 6600051 patch anymore so I don't think it is the issue. For some reason it can't seem to update the inventory.
There is now a 9032412 directory in the $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_directory however. The etc/oraInventory & $ORACLE_HOME/inventory have write permissions. What else have I missed?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Failed worker while applying one patch

    Hi All,
I was applying one patch and during the process, a worker stopped with some error. After inspecting the worker log, I raised a Service Request with Oracle Support and support has recommended to apply another patch. Now what should I do?
    1) Can I start another patch session, apply the new patch and then proceed with the failed patch session?
    2) Should I terminat the existing failed patch session, apply the new patch and restart the whole process of applying the failed patch?
Please suggest, what is the general practice.
    Thanks

nothing is mounted (i rebooted before applying). not sure why it's giving that NFS error. it's consistent tho.. if i reboot and try the manual install of the patch, I get the same error.
after the failed patch "installed" it left my sound not working... so far everything else appears to work. any thoughts on fixing this are appreciated. i ran diskutil and 'fixed perms' and 'verified disk' ... patch still fails.

Try reinstalling the patch. If you get all the way through the installation, then see if your sound works. If not, then I suggest you do a repair install of Sno by installing Sno over Sno as in an upgrade install. Such an install, while usually very safe, still is an install so be appropriated backed up if you proceed.

  • SP1 Failed Update - Update missing file in temp folder

An Update to SP1 failed. The System is running now in its old state and working fine.
The problem now is, that I can't update to SP1. The SP1 Installer detects the failed patch installation, and tries to continue the installation. It fails, searching for a file that doesn't exist, in the windows temp folder.
Is there a way to tell the SP1 installer to ignore the failed installation, and behave as if it's the first time it tries to install the update?

  • Error U44M1|210 applying Photoshop patch

Tried applying the patch to Photoshop CC and it failed multiple times.  Uninstalled/reinstalled photoshop, and it resulted in a successful install, but a failed patch attempt.  Looked up the logs and saw:
FATAL: DS003: Installer package might be corrupt. Re-download the installer and try again. (Cannot extract '/Users/john/Library/Caches/Adobe/AAMUpdater/AdobePhotoshopCC2014-15.0/15.2.1/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014/payloads/
Found that file, tried to change permissions, but could not.  I then double clicked it just to see what it would do and THAT resulted in a Mac 1000 error:
error -1000 noMaskFoundErr: Icon Utilties Error

  • [solved] vim build failed

    Hi
I am trying to build vim because the version in the repo lacks a couple of options I need (x11...). The build fails without a clear error message, below are the last lines before the makepkg -s fails:
    patching file src/cleanlint.vim
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Skipping patch.
1 out of 1 hunk ignored -- saving rejects to file src/cleanlint.vim.rej
    patching file src/diff.c
    patching file src/edit.c
    patching file src/ex_cmds.c
    patching file src/ex_cmds2.c
    patching file src/ex_docmd.c
    patching file src/proto/ex_cmds.pro
    patching file src/proto/spell.pro
    patching file src/quickfix.c
    patching file src/spell.c
    patching file src/structs.h
    patching file src/term.h
    patching file src/vim.h
    patching file src/version.c
    ==> ERROR: Build Failed.
    Aborting...
If the reason is the failed patch is there a way to correct things manually?

thanks, that solved it. Sorry I didn't try that obvious solution myself, I didn't realise that installing gvim would also change the features of the console vim version. I thought those two packages are independent.
