Failed to convert to PDF

Im trying to download a PDF to a document but it keeps telling me it's failed to do this??  What's going on?

Hi, MiFestaCatering.
Are you using our CreatePDF service and trying to convert a PDF to a Word document?
If yes, can you share a copy of that PDF with us via this form? Perhaps if we saw your PDF, we could provide some additional feedback. In this form, please provide a link to this forum conversation, so we have this additional context.
Thanks.

  • ImageMagick fails to convert a PDF file (GhostScript can't find file?)

I was trying to convert a .pdf file into a .png file with imagemagick (here is the sample pdf file: http://ompldr.org/vY2ljcg ).
However, apparently ImageMagick already failed simply opening the file:
    $ convert main.pdf main.png
    Unrecoverable error: rangecheck in .putdeviceprops
    sfopen: gs_parse_file_name failed.
    ./base/gsicc_manage.c:866: gsicc_open_search(): Could not find lab.icc
    | ./psi/zusparam.c:856: set_lab_icc(): cannot find default lab icc profile
convert: Postscript delegate failed `main.pdf': No such file or directory @ error/pdf.c/ReadPDFImage/665.
convert: missing an image filename `main.png' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3016.
    Any ideas?

put it this way. if all PDF creator produces only standard PDF, then ghostscript is fine. But most PDF creator don't (except Adobe Acrobat). So a compatible pdf reader need handle non-standard PDFs. It's a long-term boring maintaining job which need much human resource.
My impression is poppler's community is the most active one which means it has more volunteers to fix bugs.
I am familiar with all the open sourced PDF engines because I did PDF application for 3 years.

Display in PDF Browser - Item failed to convert in Outlook

    Hi Experts,
This is a bit of a pain I have to distrubte
Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 to about 3000+ users and I am having a problem,
In Prefs in "Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1"
When I tick then untick, "display in PDF Browser" from the Preferences, My Outlook will fail to convert to PDF. I get an "Item failed to convert" message and a log file. Also Word 2003 will not post a .PDF to an email.
If I restart "Outlook 2003" it will create a "pdf" when I click the icon the first time, the second time I click it will fail.
    Please help.

We also deployed 8.12 to over 1000 users with the "Disable PDF in browser" option checked using the customization wizard. Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.
In the Reader archives, one guy suggested running this:
    msiexec /i Adobe_Reader_8.1_MUI.msi ADDLOCAL=ReaderBrowserIntegration
I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

Ive tried using the Tools box and the File menu to convert a PDF file to a Word document but each time it fails.
The pop window says "Save as failed to process this document. No file was created."
Ive watched the videos and can't see any different ways of doing this.@
The pdf file is 787.5MB as it includes media and type and is the basis for a book i wish to upload, but I need to make some adjustments.
Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi karenta,
Can you please tell me what the exact error message is?
Do you know how the PDF file was created (what application created it)? Are you able to convert other PDF files?
Please tell us a bit more about the document that you're trying to convert.
In the meantime, you try clearing the browser cache, or using a different web browser.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Why .pdf file, created by Acrobat Distiller 10.1.2. (Windows) failed to convert to MS Word

I tried to convert .pdf file  to MS Word, but it failed.
I noticed in  a previous discussion on that topic that this converter ccnnot work with

My was created by Acrobat Distiller 10.1.2. (Windows)
Is that a rogue producer too?

At this point, try Acrobat XI Pro to see if you can convert the document there.  A 30-day trial of Acrobat XI Pro is available here:
    www.adobe.com/go/tryacrobatpro/
If the file fails to convert with Acrobat, it may be corrupted. How did you get this PDF?

    Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Adobe livecycle 8.05 failed to convert pdf to postscript

If I am posting this in the wrong forum, please move this to the correct place.
I have been using Adobe Live cycle designer 8.05.2073.1.374024 for 6 months to a year.
I have a working template that I am trying to modify. On this particular form if I move text or numeric fields around the form. I will get the following error. I am wondering if there is some way to see all suspected problem code in the .XDP template file (something like LINT).

  • Acrobat 10.1.4 Update Causes Excel Convert to PDF Fail

The Acrobat feature which allows a "convert to pdf" option in Excel 2010 (Windows 7) fails to execute properly after the update to 10.1.4.  It chops up a single page width into multiple pages.  I would have been trying to scan tomorrow but have read the other bug reports.  Is there a way to back out this update??  Thanks!

To restore your system to last known good state, try these steps:
    1) Navigate to the Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools program group.
    2) Click on the System Restore program icon.
    3) Click Next > on the Restore system files and settings window.
    4) Choose the restore point that you want to use.
    5) Click Next >.
    6) Click Finish on the Confirm your restore point window to begin the System Restore.
Note: Windows 7 will shut down to complete the System Restore so be sure to save any work you might have open in other programs before continuing.
Important: System Restore will not revert any of your non-system files like documents, email, music, etc. to a previous state. These types files are completely unaffected by System Restore. If your intention with this tool was to recover a deleted non-system file, try using a file recovery program instead of System Restore.
    7)     Click Yes to the Once started, System Restore cannot be interrupted. Do you want to continue? dialog box.
    8)     System Restore will now restore Windows 7 to the state that was recorded in the restore point you chose in Step 4.
Note: The System Restore process could take several minutes as you see the "Please wait while your Windows files and settings are being restored" message. Your computer will then reboot as normal when complete.
    9)     Immediately after logging in to Windows 7 after the reboot, you should see a message that System Restore completed successfully.
    10)     Click Close.
    11)     Check to see if whatever Windows 7 problem you were troubleshooting has been corrected by this System Restore.
If the problem still persists, you can repeat the steps above and choose another restore point if one is available.
If this restoration caused a problem, you can always undo this particular System Restore.

  • Keep failing converting a PDF to w word document

It's been days that I'm having trouble converting a PDF file into a word document...A message keeps popping saying that an "error has occurred which stopped the processing of the PDF.

    Hi ioannay44277706,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble converting your file. It sounds like the issue is with one particular file, is that correct? How large is that file? Are you converting via the ExportPDF web interface or via Reader?
It may be that the file is too complex to convert before the ExportPDF service times out. For starters, please try clearing the browser cache, and logging back in the https://cloud.acrobat.com. Any luck?
