Failed to convert unv to unw
Greetings,
I have the version BO XI Release 2 with service pack 5. When I try export a specific universe I received the error message of the subject. The DB is in Oracle.
Support me in this matter.
Hi,
Did you use import wizard to migrate the universe from 6.5 to XI. Did you directly migrated it to xi or did you first migrate it to BIAR file and then used that BIAR to import back to XI.
Did you follow the exact steps specified in Import wizard guide, when doing this process you should follow the steps carefully.
Try to do it once again by following the guide and see.
Thanks,
SK.

Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string
Hi experts,
I'm trying running a query in Microsoft Query but it gives the following error message:
"conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string"
when asks me the data I'm inserting 31-01-2014
i've copy the query form the forum:

WHERE (T0.MthDate IS NULL OR T0.MthDate > ?) AND T0.RefDate <= ? AND T1.CardType = 'C'
ORDER BY T1.CardCode, T0.DueDate, T0.Ref1Hi,
The above error appears due to date format is differnt from SAP query generator and SQL server.
So you need convert all date in above query to SQL server required format.
Try to convert..let me know if not possible.

ENDYou can search the forums for that error message and find previous discussions - they all boil down to the same problem. Somewhere in your query that calls this function, the code invoked implicitly converts from string to date/datetime. In general,
this works in any version of sql server if the runtime settings are correct for the format of the string data. The fact that it works in one server and not in another server suggests that the query executes with different settings - and I'll assume for
the moment that the format of the data involved in this conversion is consistent within the database/resultset and consistent between the 2 servers.
I suggest you read Tibor's guide to the datetime datatype (via the link to his site below) first - then go find the actual code that performs this conversion. It may not be in the function you posted, since that function also executes other functions.
You also did not post the query that calls this function, so this function may not, in fact, be the source of the problem at all.

After reinstalling CS6 the bridge photo downloader isn't able to read raw files and fails to convert the raw files to DNG. Previously downloaded raw files, now DNG, open up successfully in Camera Raw 7. How do I get the photo downloader to read and convert raw files. MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. No such problem before this reinstallation.
You should install Camera Raw 4.6.

Hi Experts,
This is a bit of a pain I have to distrubte
Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 to about 3000+ users and I am having a problem,
In Prefs in "Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1"
When I tick then untick, "display in PDF Browser" from the Preferences, My Outlook will fail to convert to PDF. I get an "Item failed to convert" message and a log file. Also Word 2003 will not post a .PDF to an email.
If I restart "Outlook 2003" it will create a "pdf" when I click the icon the first time, the second time I click it will fail.
Please help.

Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.

I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2
: java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
(BC4J throws that exception)
I got that error message when try to show the table's content in uix page.
I use varchar2(40). the error occurs, when i set special characters like õ,ü,Ü.. and so on.
This affects only UTF encoded database.
We use: 9.0.2.5, Jdev9.0.3.3., UIX, iAS 9.4.2??(i dont'know)
As i know the problem is when there is 40 letters in the column and it contains "special character" it can't convert it, because the neccessary space requered to store values is much more.
If i use nvarchar, i don't think it fix this problem.
And as i know, all sql constant must use where coulmn=N'constans value' format.
Q:
How can i set the UTF database and BC4J to run correctly.
I mean... what type to use, what is the column size to set.
Thanks in advice,
ViktorI had the same problem using Oracle 9i. The problem lied within the Oracle JDBC driver itself! --;
If you're using JDBC driver from Oracle 9i, stop using it!
You should download JDBC driver of Oracle 10g from Oracle site and use that driver instead.
After I changed the driver, I now have no problem of getting Korean characters from the database.
Hope this would solve your problem too. -
Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
We need to store possibly all UTF8 chararacter in his database
especially $ & ( 4 8 < = > from WE8ISO8859P1 and from WE8ISO8859P15.
So we install an UTF8 instance and set NLS_LANG to UTF8.
We have to do select/update from a java client and sqlplus(like).
When we insert with java client it's unreadable from sqlplus and
when whe insert from sqlplus we've got 'Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv '
here the code made in sqlplus
update CPW_TEST set lb_comportement='$ & ( 4 8 < = > ' WHERE ID_TEST=14805;
here the code made in java
update CPW_TEST set lb_comportement='$ & ( 4 8 < = > ' WHERE ID_TEST=14804;
and then the result in database
SELECT id_test,LB_COMPORTEMENT FROM CPW_TEST WHERE ID_TEST=14804 or ID_TEST=14805
ID_TEST LB_COMPORTEMENT
14804 B$ B& B( B4 B8 B< B= B> B
14805 $ & ( 4 8 < = >
2 rows selected
and the dump
SELECT id_test,dump(LB_COMPORTEMENT) FROM CPW_TEST WHERE ID_TEST=14804 or ID_TEST=14805
ID_TEST DUMP(LB_COMPORTEMENT)
14804 Typ=1 Len=26: 194,164,32,194,166,32,194,168,32,194,180,32,194,184,32,194,188,32,194,189,32,194,190,32,194,128
14805 Typ=1 Len=17: 164,32,166,32,168,32,180,32,184,32,188,32,189,32,190,32,128
2 rows selected
I'm not sure, but it seems that sqlplus uses true UTF8 (variable length codes) and java client uses UCS-2 (2 bytes)
How can I solve my problem?
Our configuration
javaclient (both thin and oci jdbc driver 8.1.7), sqlplus client and database Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on the same computer (W2000 or NT4)
Thank you for yoru attention.Hi Luis, thanks for your suggestions. You're right that problem was in JServ and his JVM.
There was conflict between different versions of Java. While iFS was using JRE 1.3.1, JServ was configured to use JRE 1.1.8. As soon as I corrected link to the right Java, problem disappears.

Java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
Hi all,
I am writing a servlet that connects to Oracle 8.0.6 through jdbc for jdk1.2 on NT 4.0
English version and it works fine.
But when the servlet is deployed to a solaris with Oracle 8.0.5 (not a typo, the oracle on
NT is 8.0.6 and oracle on solaris is 8.0.5) and jdbc for jdk1.2 (of course, for Solaris),
the servlet failed with the Exception:
java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
(I am using JRun 3.0 as the application and web server for both NT and Solaris)
(The database in both the NT and solaris platform are using UTF8 charset)
My servlet looks like this: (dbConn is a Connection object proved to be connected to Oracle
in previous segment of the same method):
String strSQL = "SELECT * FROM test";
try { Statement stmt = dbConn.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.execute(strSQL);
while (rs.next()) {
out.println("id = " + rs.getInt("id"));
System.out.println("id written");
out.println("name = " + rs.getString("name")); // <-- this is the line the
exception is thrown
System.out.println("name written");
} catch (java.sql.SQLException e) {
System.out.println("SQL Exception");
System.out.println(e);
The definition of the "test" table is:
create table test(
id number(10,0),
name varchar2(30));
There are about 10 rows exists in the table "test", in which all rows contains ONLY chinese
characters in the "name" field.
And when I view the System log, the string "id written" is shown EXACTLY ONCE and then there
is:
SQL Exception
java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
That means the resultset is fetch back from the database correctly. The problem arise only
during the getString("name") method.
Again, this problem only happens when the servlet is run on the solaris platform.
At first I would expect there are some strange code shown on the web page rather than having
an exception. I know that I should use getBytes to convert between different encodings, but
that's another story.
One more piece of information: When all the rows contains ascii characters in their "name"
field, the servlet works perfectly even in solaris.
If anyone knows why and how to tackle the problem please let me know. You can feel free to
send email to me at [email protected]
Many thanks,
Ben
nullHi all,
For the problem I previously posted, I found that Oracle had had such bug filed before in Oracle 7.3.2 (something like that) and is classified to be NOT A BUG.
A further research leads me to the document of Oracle that the error message:
"java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv"
is a JDBC driver error message of error number ORA-17037.
I'm still wondering why this behaviour will happen only in Solaris platform. The servlet on an NT machine I am using (which has an Oracle 8.0.6 and jdbc for jdk 1.2 running) is working just fine. I also suspect that this may be some sort of mistakes from jdbc driver.
Nevertheless, I have found a way to work around the problem that I cannot get non-English string from Oracle in Solaris and I would like to share it with you all here.
Before I go on, I found that there are many people out there on the web that encounter the same problem. (Some of which said s/he has been working on this problem for a month). As a result, if you find this way of working around the problem does help you, please tell those who have the same problem but don't know how to tackle. Thanks very much.
Here's the way I work it out. It's kinda simple, but it does work:
Instead of using:
String abc = rs.getString("SomeColumnContainsNonEnglishCharacters");
I used this:
String abc = new String(rs.getBytes("SomeColumnContainsNonEnglishCharacters"));
This will give you a string WITH YOUR DEFAULT CHARSET (or ENCODING) from your system.
If you want to convert the string read to some other encoding type, say Big5, you can do it like this:
String abc = new String(rs.getBytes("SomeColumneContainsNonEnglishCharacters"), "BIG5");
Again, it's simple, but it works.
Finally, if anyone knows why the fail to convert problem happens, please kindly let me know by leaving a word in [email protected]
Again, thanks to those of you who had tried to help me out.

SSRS error "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value"
Hi folks!
After SCCM 2012 R2 upgrade, we have errors with self made reports:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot read the next data row for the dataset DataSet2. (rsErrorReadingNextDataRow)
Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '*****' to data type int.
I found several articles to see reporting services log file for possible WMI related errors, but none exists. SQL server is 2008R2, Runned mofcomp, and re-installed reporting services role, but problem remains.
I traced the dataset2 query:
SELECT
v_Collection_Alias.CollectionID ,v_Collection_Alias.Name
FROM fn_rbac_Collection(@UserSIDs) v_Collection_Alias
WHERE
v_Collection_Alias.CollectionType = 2
Any adwice is appreciated.
~Tuomas.Hi Tuomas,
What's the SQL Server version? To verify the the SQL Server version, please see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185
SCCM 2012 R2 need SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 with CU 6 or SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP2 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SupConfigSQLSrvReq).
If the SQL meets requirement, I would suggest you submit a thread to SQL forum to deal with the sql issue.

- dragdrops represents: the dragable objects.
- Targets obtaining the dropable objects by hitTestObject, then the dropable objects visible is turned to false, & the target visible turned to true.
Dragable objects is a 12 elements all of them have an instance names: paper1....paper12.
When I focused to the project I noticed that I forget to give the dragable objects an instance names!
after making the instance names to them, a new error occures:
E:\FL\ActionScript\Drag and Drop Project\Targets.as, Line 11
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: paper1.
This error is continuing to paper2, paper3.....paper12 !
Please download my project, I must deliver it to my college in 24/12. I will never forget your favor. thanks.

how do i solve this, please helpThis is an error due to conversion failed from character string to int datatype. Infact, the table column contains "NO" value which you are trying to convert to Int/SUM which is illegal. Without your code and table structure, its difficult to pinpoint your
actual issue. But check, all columns for value "NO". -
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value to data type int
Hi, I am unable to resolve this error and would like some assistance please.
The below query produces the following error message -
Msg 245, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'NCPR' to data type int.
Select Pc2.Assess,
Select Pc1.Title
From Pc1
Where Pc1.Assess = Pc2.Assess
) [Title]
From Pc2
However, when I run the query below I get the results shown in the image . Ie. nothing. Pc1 & Pc2 are aliases and are the same table and the assess field is an int. I found NCPR in one cell but that column (prop) is not used in the query. The table
is nearly 25k rows.
SELECT * FROM Pc1 WHERE Pc1.Assess LIKE '%NCPR%' OR ISNUMERIC(Pc1.Assess) = 0
Thank youWHERE ISNUMERIC(id) = 1 and there are obviously no 'NCPR' records in the view as per my previous post.
That is a bad assumption - SQL Server does not have to evaluate the query in the order you are expecting it to.
Take this simple example
CREATE TABLE #example
col1 VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL
INSERT INTO #example VALUES ('1'), ('2'), ('NaN')
SELECT * FROM
SELECT * FROM #example
WHERE ISNUMERIC(col1) = 1
) X
(3 row(s) affected)
col1
1
2
(2 row(s) affected)
compare to
CREATE TABLE #example
col1 VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL
INSERT INTO #example VALUES ('1'), ('2'), ('NaN')
SELECT * FROM
SELECT * FROM #example
WHERE ISNUMERIC(col1) = 1
) X
WHERE col1 = 1
(3 row(s) affected)
col1
1
Msg 245, Level 16, State 1, Line 8
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'NaN' to data type int. -
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value to data type int error
Hi, I am working on a report which is off of survey information and I am using dynamic pivot on multiple columns.
I have questions like Did you use this parking tag for more than 250 hours? If yes specify number of hours.
and the answers could be No, 302, 279, No and so on....
All these answers are of varchar datatype and all this data comes from a partner application where we consume this data for internal reporting.
When I am doing dynamic pivot I get the below error.
Error: Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'No' to data type int.
Query
DECLARE @Cols1 VARCHAR(MAX), @Cols0 VARCHAR(MAX), @Total VARCHAR(MAX), @SQL VARCHAR(MAX)
SELECT @Cols1 = STUFF((SELECT ', ' + QUOTENAME(Question) FROM Question GROUP BY Question FOR XML PATH('')),1,2,'')
SELECT @Cols0 = (SELECT ', COALESCE(' + QUOTENAME(Question) + ',0) as ' + QUOTENAME(Question) FROM Question GROUP BY Question FOR XML PATH(''))
SET @SQL = 'SELECT QID, QNAME' + @Cols0 + '
FROM (SELECT QID, QNAME, ANSWERS, Question
FROM Question) T
PIVOT (MAX(ANSWERS) FOR Question IN ('+@Cols1+')) AS P'
EXECUTE (@SQL)
I am using SQL Server 2008 R2.
Please guide me to resolve this.
Thanks in advance..........
