  • Failed to create a temporary file in directory C:\PROGRA~2\: Method GetTempFileName

    I have Mcafee anti-virus and currently purchased a new package, so I decided to reinstall the software as it would not verify through the other product package.
    So I unistalled and tried to reinstall the software and now everytime I try to install any software it either:
    (1) does not run the installation process or
    (2) an error message pops up saying: "failed to create a temporary file in directory C:\PROGRA~2\: Method GetTempFileName"
    I am really stuck as I now basicaly can't run installations and cannot retrieve Mcafee either.
    I have an HP Elitebook 8440p.
    Any ideas??

    Not permissions.  Not TEMP path name.
    After some research we ran Process Monitor during the build.  Turns out we used up all of the temporary file names... LOL!
    Tmp file names in Vista, and maybe others, have the format tmp####.tmp, where #### is 0x0000 to 0xffff.   When we looked in the Temp directory we found over 65,000 TMP files.  We are guessing that CSC creates these files but does not remove them.  After so many thousands of builds, we ran out of names.  We thought they were gone when we ran Disk Cleanup, but MSBUILD uses the administrator account while we were cleaning from a user account.
    Might be nice if CSC deleted it's TMP files...
    There ya go, add that to your bag of tricks... :)

  • Startx on a vmware is throwing a "failed to create screen resources"

    The Bottom line error is:
    Fatal server error:
    [ 1431.076] (EE) failed to create screen resources(EE)
    I am trying to get a browsers running on my new Arch Linux, so I can cut and paste better for questions. I have installed xorg, chromium, firefox. If I try and start "startx", it say the server did not start. I think it is the failed to create screen resources.
    I have edit the video settings to give it 32meg of memory. Also I hack the .vmx file to enable the 3d opttion. I have installed all the vmtools (open version) Again, new to Arch Linux so I sure it is something stupid.
    Not sure if it helps but here are the errors when I try and run the browsers.

    Thanks, that all sounds correct to me, unfortunalte I can't provide more help as I've never used vmware.  But a couple pointers for pacman use:
    There is no need to use that pipe, `pacman -Q <searchterm>` will work.
    The reason you don't see the mouse package is that grep is case sensitive.  `pacman -Q | grep -i vmware` should also show the mouse package, but this would be much easier as `pacman -Qs vmware` which allows pacman to do the search.  Pacman's search is case-insensitive by default and is a bit more effient that listing all packages and grepping through them.
    Got it. Yes using the 'vmware' the vmmouse shows up. Also searching 'svga' shows Mesa DRI drivers. That is another advantage for letting pacman search, since my search term was svga and what was dispalayed did not have that in the string, pacman search can see behind the covers. :-)
    All this learning is good, now if I could just figure out why 'startx' is failing to create screen resource. ;-)
    Question, does it matter what tty it starts on? I am using 0 (obvious from the log name), could that be an issue? Just thinking out loud.

  • Runtime error: failed to create delegate view

    hi all,
    We have two applications in two separate projects. But we can deploy only one at a time. If we deploy the second application (or vice-versa)and try to access the first application, it throws up the following error.
    P.S. The problem is only with these two applications and they use Adaptive RFC models.
    We thought it was because of some Jco conections, but all of them test correctly from the WebDynpro administrator console. Any ideas?

    Hallo Vamsee,
    you wrote <i>"We use the same package naming conventions in both projects.Is that a problem"!</i> Does this mean that you have two different DCs sap.com/a/b/c/onedc and sap.com/a/b/c/anotherdc which both contain the same Web Dynpro component packages e.g. com.sap.a.b.c.mycomp? If this is true both Deployable DC units will collide on the serverside because the Web Dynpro classloader does not differ between the same Web Dynpro packages in different DCs. The DC namespace is not reflected by the classloader.
    Regards, Bertram

    Hello!
    I face the same problem with Failed to create delegate for component:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to create delegate for component

    I think this started after upgrading from 7.01 SP3 to SP5, but I'm not sure.
    What was it that solved your issue?
    *I found the error. My ProjectProperties.wdProperties did not contain the references it needed.*

  • Database Logon Failed which created by Crystal Report 2008

    this time i meet the famous error again which is database logon failed.
    i created a crystal report 2008 starting from blank report, then connect with odbc
    i use 2008 method
    objRpt.SetDatabaseLogon(db_username, db_password, odbc_name, database_name);
    2008 method will get database logon failed even set database location and verify database again
    then i use 8.5 method and try again for 2008 report. it said field name is unknown for one of formula
    then i drag field again for formula and set database location and verify database again
    it said the same error.
    then i uninstall 8.5 crytal report software in window 7 deployment machine, and do above again, it said the same error

  • Try to create a method to return an object as xml

    I'm trying to create a method for an object to return the objects attributes in xml format.
    here is what I have done so far:
    -- create the object hierachy
    create or replace type ras4.atomic_tp as object
         (atomic_instance_id     varchar2(8),
         service_instance_id     varchar2(8),
         parent_atomic_instance_id varchar2(8),
         MEMBER FUNCTION return_xml RETURN varchar2)
    NOT INSTANTIABLE
    NOT FINAL;
    create or replace type ras4.parm_const_tp under ras4.atomic_tp
         (parameter_name          varchar2(75))
    NOT INSTANTIABLE
    NOT FINAL;
    create or replace type ras4.contact_tp under ras4.atomic_tp
         (address_line_1          varchar2(80),
         address_line_2          varchar2(80),
         address_line_3          varchar2(80),
         city               varchar2(20),
         state               varchar2(2),
         country               varchar2(20),
         postal_code          varchar2(20),
         voice_telephone          varchar2(20),
         dns_telephone          varchar2(20),
         fax               varchar2(20),
         email               varchar2(80),
         url               varchar2(20),
         contact_inst          varchar2(255))
    NOT INSTANTIABLE
    NOT FINAL;
    create or replace type PERSON_tp under contact_tp
         (prefix               varchar2(7),
         first_name          varchar2(50),
         middle_name          varchar2(50),
         last_name          varchar2(50),
         suffix               varchar2(20),
         nick_name          varchar2(50),
    OVERRIDING MEMBER FUNCTION return_xml return varchar2)
    INSTANTIABLE
    FINAL;
    create table ras4.person_tb of ras4.person_tp;
    insert into ras4.person_tb values
    (ras4.person_tp('00001', '00001', '00001', '1111 Trail Lake Dr.', null, null, 'Fort Worth',

    commit;
    -- now different things I have tried to get the member function to work:
    CREATE or replace TYPE BODY RAS4.PERSON_TP AS
         overriding MEMBER FUNCTION RETURN_XML RETURN VARCHAR2 IS

    result CLOB;
    BEGIN
         qryCtx :=
         DBMS_XMLGEN.NEWCONTEXT ('select self.first_name from dual;');
    result := DBMS_XMLGEN.GETXML(qryCtx);
              RETURN (RESULT);
         END;
    END;
    I try to invoke the method as below:
    DECLARE
    v_person ras4.person_tp;
    v_person_ref ref ras4.person_tp;
    V_string varchar2(2000);
    BEGIN
    select value(a)

    from ras4.person_tb a
    where a.atomic_instance_id = '00001';
    v_string := v_person.return_xml;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_string);
    END;
    I get the following error:
    DECLARE
    ERROR at line 1:

    from the command line I type in this:
    select sys_xmlgen(value(p))
    from person_tb p
    where p.atomic_Instance_id = '00001';
    and it seems to work.
    trying to put this into a member function - I try this:
    CREATE or replace TYPE BODY RAS4.PERSON_TP AS
         overriding MEMBER FUNCTION RETURN_XML RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    v_string varchar2(200);
    v_person ras4.person_tp;
    BEGIN
         v_person := self;
         select v_person.first_name into v_string from dual;
         return (select sys_xmlgen(value(v_person)));
         END;
    END;
    This fails to compile.
    any help is greatly appreciated.

    PN,
    First, it's impossible to create static method with WD IDE designers for controllers.
    Next, if you simply need to call method from wdDoModifyView, just create instance method createHTMLViewer in regular way then call it from wdDoModifyView via wdThis.createHTMLViewer().
    Third, you may create this method manually directly in source code, just place it at the end of controller between comments //@begin other ... //@end.

    Hi,
    You also need to set the event parameter "m_dtstartvalue" when creating daily notes and day events, as follows:
    vevent.setDtStartValue(vEvent.k_valueTypeDate);

    Hi Sushma,
                     lot of new features have been added in CE EHP1 version .for more information refer this [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/26/b7fa511a964597a5d8c1b778508936/content.htm] and search in SDN for new features in EHP1 version.
    in CE EHP1, local web dynpro projects cannot be used as it is deprecated in this version.
    i believe this calendar is a local standalone project created in CE 7.1 version and conert this local project to development component.
    right click on ur local project --> Development component -->Convert Project to Development Component.
    After this, go ur NWDI --> select ur component --> right click --> Create project (& Sync ysed Dcs) ..
    finally deploy and run ur component .
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

    It's throwing an exception because at some point, you are not checking
    your string for nulls before calling replace. My guess is that
    this.RXMap.REQUEST_TM is sometimes empty/null and when you call replace,
    it then excepts. Always ensure that your string value is
    non-null/defined before calling a function against it.

    Hi,
    We are using OSM 7.0.3 and O2A cartridges.
    In our one business scenario CRM is sending one revision order.
    While creating this order in OSM its failed with below error message.
    +"oracle.communications.ordermanagement.ws.InvalidOrderSpecificationFault: Failed to create and start the order due to java.lang.RuntimeException: com.mslv.oms.OMSException: encountered error starting orchestration caused by:Orchestration plan could not be generated due to unable to determine order component Id for order item: xxx"+
    I think something is missing in incoming request but im not able to find it.
    To debug this issue i have enabled debugging of class "oracle.communications.ordermanagement.orchestration.generation.OrchestrationXQueryFunctions".
    And i got below things in logs.But there is not much inforamtion available about
    1. 'osmfn:ancestors("CommunicationsSalesOrderLine","parentChildHierarchy","CommunicationsSalesOrderFulfillmentPIP")' and
    2.osmfn:ancestors("CommunicationsSalesOrderLine","relatedItemHierarchy","CommunicationsSalesOrderFulfillmentPIP")''
    So its diffcult to find out what is missing in incoming request?
    Any Idea due to which fields these function failed?

    Regards,

    Hi,
    I am facing exactly the same problem with OSM 7.0.3 while creating a new order.
    Have you managed to find any solution ????
    Which OSM 7.0.3 build are you using?
