Failed to Find SQL Service

When running the Lync 2013 Deployment wizard and running Step 2 Setup and Remove Lync Server Components, I get the following error "Failed to find SQL Service. Make sure that SQL Server Service (instance name LyncArchiving) is installed in machine
<machine name>.  This also occurs for instance LyncMonitoring.  After searching for a solution, it was suggested that it could be fixed by running the Topology Builder and unchecking the Archiving and Monitoring features.  I did that and
then published the topology again.  Got same error. Any suggestions?

Ben,
I deployed Lync Standard Edition not Enterprise Edition. When I deployed the Front End pool, I selected to deploy it as a Standard Edition Server.  I then inadvertently select the Archiving and Monitoring features.  It does not give you the
option of using a seperate SQL server. I did not specify any other SQL server so the archiving and monitoring instances should have been created on my front end.  Apparently they were not. The error messages I get are "Failed to find SQL Service. Make
sure that SQL Server service (instance name LyncArchiving) is installed in machine LyncFE1.micoen.local" and "Failed to find SQL Service. Make sure that SQL Server service (instance name LyncMonitoring)...".  In the uninstall cmdlet I did reference
the instance name and server from the error message. The use of the -force switch did not help.

    Hi,
I have a Z10 with the last firmware 10.3.1.1877 (but this happened too with the 10.2.1), when I try to share the music with my radio i receive back the error in the email subject.
I own a jeep grand cherokee (2013) and I don't have problem to call o receive a phone call, the only problem is to stream the music from my z10 into my radio.
Did I make some mistakes for sharing the music?
Do you know the right steps to do this??
Thank you in advance for every helpful replies.
    Gianluca

Thank you Keithbergoff for the prompt answer.
I tried your advices, but it doesn't work and I don't know why.
I read up on internet another solution, that selecting the track that you want to reproduce and hit the tab menu, you find the tab Audio and inside you can choose the bluetooth device to reproduce the track, but I tried and I don't find any bluetooth device.
I updated too the firmware of the radio, but nothing change.
It's propably somethnig incompatible with my radio and my Z10.
I did all (phone call, sharing contacts) expect reproducing the music from my Z10.
    Thank you

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

  • Sign in Error: failed to find service connection url

    Greetings!
On my Windows desktop, when I try to sign into iTunes, I receive the following error:
"ConnectionManager::invoke::failed to find the service connection url"
I have seen all of the threads indicating other people had success when signing out, then signing in again.  I have not had any success with this.  I have unistalled iTunes, reinstalled, but the problem still avails.
The baffling thing is that I am able to sign in to iTunes just fine using my Macbook.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

Fixed it.  I had to completely remove iTunes, reboot, rename my Music directory (which contains the itunes library), create a new Music folder, reinstall iTunes, reboot, and then it worked again.  What a pain!  Now I'm in the process of reimporting all of my media... but I can successfully sign in to iTunes.

  • Management Studio Fails when added Integration Services step to SQL Server Agent Job

    Hi,
I have two new servers I've setup with Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2012 SP1, Visual Studio 2012 SP4. I've previously been on SQL 2008 and VS 2008 so this is new to me.
I am finding SSMS is throwing an exception on both machines when i do the following:
    1. Go to SQL Server Agent | Jobs
    2. Create a new Job.
    3. Select Steps and click New Step
    4. Change the job type to SQL Server Integration Services Package.
    Following error occurs:
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
The type initializer for '<Module>' threw an exception. (SqlManagerUI)
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The C++ module failed to load.
     (DTEParseMgd)
Index was outside the bounds of the array. (DTEParseMgd)
I also find if I take an existing job with SSIS package steps and attempt to edit those steps the same message appears. This issue happens on both my servers as they have been configured almost identically. This doesn't occur when selecting any other job
    type.
I've also tried installing cumulative update 8 in a hope that this may fix it but with no success.
As my entire environment is based around SQL Agents running SSIS i'm a little bit concerned, especially since I have some tight deadlines getting these servers running.
I have found nothing relating to this issue. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I hadn't installed CU3 however as a test i tried installing CU4 and this didn't help. Since my first emails i have more issues that have brought a complete hault to the upgrade project.
If i double click on a package to run it manually I basically get the same issue. This means i have no way of running any packages except throught VS.
I've also found that regardless of the order of the software installs it still fails. It's related to SP1 of SQL and SP4 of VS.
I'm on Server 2012. When install in the following order SQL 2012, SQL SP1, VS2012, BIDS, VS SP4 i have no problem until VS SP4 is installed. If i install VS SP4 then BIDS it also fails at the last step. If i install all the VS and BIDS software first, then
SQL then SQL SP1 it fails at the SQL SP1 step.
This means i could actually install everything and either ignore the SQL SP1 or the VS SP4 and i'd be fine however this is not really a solution as i will never be able to patch the software and once live this is very dangerous.
I am still surprised there is no obvious solution to this. I'm only installing MS software on a fresh box and only installing 5 pieces of software (including the SPs). I would have though if this was an issue others would have come across it too.
Has anyone else installed all these components and got them working on the same OS. I believe early on in my testing i installed these in Windows Server 2008 and didn't have the issue.

    Hi,
We were asked by the PSS engineer to give the following privileges the account used to install SQL Server - i am referring to the user domain account as apposed to the SQL service account. These privileges were already applied to the
SQL service account prior to the SQL installation. Assigning these privileges to the user account resolved the issue.
Act as Part of the Operating Sywstem = SeTcbPrivileg
      Bypass Traverse Checking = SeChangeNotify

    Open Registry Editor.
In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
Create the following value (REG_SZ): Working Directory and give it a value that points to the new database folder.
Make sure you back up the registry before you do any changes on it.

  • Error message when trying to sign in with iTunes: ConnectionManager::invoke::failed to find service connection url.

I recently signed out of itunes on my imac and when i tried to sign back in i get the error message: ConnectionManager::invoke::failed to find service connection url. If i try again i get another box asking if i've forgotten my password. But my password is definitely right as i just used to it make an account on this support page. Any simple ways of fixing this?

Just to test the simple things first, did you try to sign in using another credential?
If only yours fails, then is a RIM issue, otherwise is indeed your Playbook failure.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - Offline Servicing failure - Failed to find or access the update binaries to be applied on the image

    Hi there
Trying to patch a new Windows 7 SP1 image within SCCM 2012 SP1, but it's failing.
I've searched for information on the failure messages I am seeing, but although there is a LOT of information online concerning Offline Servicing failures, I can't find anything on the errors I am seeing.
I've tried injecting a single update, five updates and ten updates, no difference, same messages.
We have McAfee Access Protection disabled, as we know Offline Servicing simply won't work if this is running.
In the console, in Schedule Update Status for the image I am trying to update, the following message is shown:
"Failed to find or access the update binaries to be applied on the image."
That sounds as if the process can't find the actual .cab file for any update I've tried to inject, but I don't know why it wouldn't be able to do that, we have Software Updates configured and the .cab files are on the same server.
When I looked at the OfflineServicingMgr.log file, I see the following entries:

    Hi,
I think file named 'NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS’ might be causing this issue. If this file is present in logical drives, then please give it a shot one more time after deleting this file from the logical drives.
Due to this file, it might be preventing 'smsexec' service to skip the drive when looking for content. So worth a try!
After deleting this file, you also need to restart 'smsexec' service to reflect the changes. You can also verify from below registry value & ensure that all of your logical drives (specially where SCCMContentLib directory resides) should be listed
    over there
    'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\ContentLibUsableDrives'
    Hope this will help!

I'm trying to connect to itunes with my apple ID (on macbook pro) and I keep getting the error message: "ConnectionManager::Invoke::failed to find service connetion url" I've tried resetting my password, reinstalling itunes and I've checked I'm not connected the app store.
Please help it's sending me insane!

I had the same issue since installing the new iTunes. Log out of iTunes (logging back in did not fix the problem for me).  I performed a safe boot (restart your laptop and hold down the shift key until the login screen appears). Log in, open disk utility in the applications/utilities folder, and run disk repair. Restart your computer and login to iTunes. This fixed the problem for me.

  • App store:ConnectionManager::invoke::Failed to find service connection url.

I can log into Apple with user name and password but can't log into App Store. Used it earlier to update Aperture.
Now i get this:ConnectionManager::invoke::Failed to find service connection url.

    Check GateKeeper ...
Open Sysem Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select:  Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is greyed out, click the padlock icon to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password.
    OS X: About Gatekeeper
If that didn't help, disable anti virus software if installed. Then try logging in.
And try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try logging in.

    Hi, Buster1932.
I would recommend logging out of your account then logging back in.  If the issue persists, see the article below.
