Failed to initialize installer problem.

I used to have Photoshop CS6 installed and then i tried to install after effects CS6 but its installation ended with error, so if i ever tried to launch it it would just crash, so then i used the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe to clean it and try to install again, but no use. I then tried installing everything with the cleaner tool and now i just cant install any adobe product that requires the same installer. And since the support tool has been discontinued (Adobe - Adobe Support Advisor) i am stumped. i have tried looking up other forum posts of the same install error but i cant find one that matches.
So far i have gathered some information from other forums for what information i need to display here:

I'm running Win 8.1 64 bit on a Samsung satellite laptop

I am wondering the same thing as mike74440422.
Can you give the steps to find and de-register the switchboard service and what do we try again? Reinstallation or something else?
I found a Adobe SwitchBoard in Services, via Control Panel, Administrative, Services: and it is set to manual and stopped.
But even if that is the correct SwitchBoard, not sure what you want us to do to it?

  • WinXP, LabView 6.1 Installation error message: 'Failed to initialize installer. Error 110.'

I am using WinXP and have no virus protection software installed. I have already tried installing instmsiw.exe, which didn't help. Hi,
Some steps you can take to check if it is the CD or your system would be:
    1) Copy cd down to hard drive and try to install from there
    2) Try installing from cd on another machine
    3) Try another CD (if you have one)
If you run into the situation where it works on another machine, but doesn't work when copying down to your hard drive, I would then further try sharing the cd-rom drive of another machine temporarily and then accessing the cd from the network, or just copy it down into another machine and share it across the network. If this does not resolve your installation problem, the issue may be related to some corruption in your system install or possibly any permission issues. Lastly, if you cannot get the cd to work anywhere, I would co
ntact your local sales representative to see if you can get a new copy of the cd.

  • Itunes 9 upgrade fail; 32bit difx installer problem

    Hi,
I tried to upgrade itunes to its latest version 9, but it always gives an error '32bit difx installer has encountered a problem...'. Anyone else had that problem? However, it installs itunes but it is not detecting my iphone connected to it now.
Does any one know if it could be due to itunes installation error?
    Thanks

I don't know the answer to this, but difx seems to be something new with the latest iTunes.
    See
    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/install/DIFxFAQ.mspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd419822.aspx
Googling, there seem to be reports of Zonealarm identifying it as spyware.
It would be a good idea to try temporarily disabling your security software while installing iTunes in case you security software is interfering with the install.

That LOOKS like you are trying to install to the D drive instead of the default C drive... true?
What happens if you install to the default C drive?
What happens if you right click the installer and select "Run as Administrator" from the option list?

  • Installer Failed to Initialize problem

    Hello,
I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro after years of using PC's. Previously I was using PS7 on my pc and I decided it was probably time to try out a newer version of PS on my new Mac. I am running Lion and I attempted to download and run PSC5 but I get the error "Installer Failed to Initialize". I downloaded the Adobe Advisor and it couldn't find anything wrong. I tried restarting my machine and that didn't help.
I realize that this might just be user error because I am not very familiar with Macs yet, but does anyone have any suggestions for me?

For people who go searching in the future to resolve this issue, I was able to resolve it by taking my computer into a Genuis Bar after trying to resolve the issue over the phone with Adobe support (they had no clue what the problem was).
I had an anti-virus program that I had removed from my computer but wasn't completely gone. This was causing a conflict with Adobe Installer. Despite having restarted the computer, ended all programs running, etc, the program was still running in the background. Be sure to check your running system programs - duh - for hidden programs that the Adobe Advisor doesn't catch. In my cast it was Avast! anti-virus.
For such a pricey program, I have to say that support is severely lacking.

My PC got infected with virus and i was using avast, intead of repairing the files it deleted them. so i had to reinstall most of the softwares. but for photoshop i had to use "adobe creative suite cleaner tool" and "adobe support advisor", but though i get this error "Installer failed to initialize. Two things to try.  Try another browser, if you used Firefox try IE9, or chrome, or whatever.  Sometimes just trying it again might work as server was busy or there was a gllitch in connection.
    Good luck.
