"failed to read POST response" when adding a standby database

Hello everybody,
I've got a problem ...
I try to create a standby db using the Oracle Grid Manager. When running the job, it is broken in step "httpOneDatafile" with message "failed to read POST response".
In metalink, I found the one-off patch 6670069. As it is only applicable to Oracle agent 10.2.0.4, I've de-installed the agent 10.2.0.5 and tried to install patch 6670069 to this version, but all I get is this error:
Prerequisite check "CheckApplicable" failed.
The details are:
Patch 6670069: Required component(s) missing : [ oracle.sysman.top.agent, 10.2.0.4.0 ]
ApplySession failed during prerequisite checks: Prerequisite check "CheckApplicable" failed.
I tried with different ORACLE_HOMEs (<path_to_db_home> or <agent_home>) and different PATH (<path_to_db_home>/bin or <agent_home>/bin) variables, but anytime, I get the same message when trying to patch the agent.
Does someone have an idea, what's going wrong?
Environment:
Primary Database : 10.2.0.4 on HPUX 64 Itanium
Standby DB: 10.2.0.4 on HPUX 64 PA-Risc (this combination is ok as we used it in a former config with two 10.2.0.2 DBs for the last 2 years...)
Oracle agents: 10.2.0.3 up to 10.2.0.5
As I'm trying for 1 week now, any (ANY!) idea is very welcome...

I need help, I am cloning ,y PROD DB to a test environment, I did first using my test database and it worked, but running with my PROD failed.

What is the size of the data file which fails during transfer? I could find one reference on Metalink where the large file size (6GB) resulted in this error but that is in Oracle 10g.

ITunes now becomes non-responsive when adding new music

Hello.
For a few months now iTunes has gone from quick importing of new mp3 and m4a files from my desktop, down to very slow importing after a long pinwheel, and now finally the endless pinwheel whenever I add any files. (It can go on hours, and requires force quit). My collection is large (50k files / 1TB or so), and the media sits on an external hard drive, but I have tried creating a new library from scratch on the desktop (and internal hard drive) and I still get the same endless pinwheel when adding just a few new files. The only other clue I have is that when the importing slowness just started, a third party metatagging application I use (TuneUp) was not recognizing the newly imported files as having been imported by iTunes, whereas I did use iTunes to import.
I am loathe to create a new library altogether as I've done much editing within iTunes to my large collection. (See this article: iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists - Apple Support)
I am using latest Yosemite version (10.10.2) on a 2011 Mac Mini with a recent SSD inside (iTunes worked fine after the SSD upgrade a year ago).

Start by removing "TuneUp." See whether there's an improvement.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

Failed to read parameter object when publish crystal report 11

Hi,
I created a dynamic parameter crystal report and while running in CR (XI) everything works fine.
Once I am trying to publish to server (infoview & business objects) I am getting error message "Failed read data from report... Reason: Failed to read parameter object"
(It works fine and was published sucesfully if I change to static parameter.)
I already try to change 'Edit right' in Business View Manager as other people suggest in other place and I still can't publish it without error.
Please help.

I am facing same kind of issue with crystal report 12.2.0.290 and BO server 12.1.0 © 2008 Business Objects.
While i am trying publish the report with dynamic parameter, its throwing the error "Failed to read parameter object ".
I am not sure what to do..can you please guide me ?

ORA-01152 -- When Bringing Up Standby Database

Hi All,
I'm trying to bring a standbye database on the same server as my primary database. i'm doing this to play around, hoping to do it with PRD using separate servers. I have found several good step by step references for doing this. I'm currently using:

I have tried several things to get this up. I have shutdown the primary db and manually copied the datafiles to the standby location and then created a standby control file. I have also tried taking an image copy of the datafiles using RMAN and then creating the standby control file. Both produce same result. I can startup mount the Standby db but when i try to open the standby db in read only mode i get the following:
ORA-16004: backup database requires recovery
ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
ORA-01110: data file 1:
'C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\standby\SYSTEM01.DBF'
Does anyone have any idea as to why i'm getting this? Is there a preferred way to copy the primary db's datafiles to create standby. According to my instructions the manually copied datafiles shoudl be taken BEFORE the standby control file is generated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... i've been wrestling with this for far too long.

i got it to go. I believe what i did wrong was not configure my parameters files correctly. LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 was erroring out so the archive logs were not applied to the standby database. I manually copied and applied the archive logs to my Standbye. I was then able to open in read only. After that I had to create a password file for my standby which made the LOG_ARCIVE_DEST_2 parameter work.

Error - when creating a standby database with EM 10g Grid Control

Hi,
I am experiencing some problems when I want to create through the EM 10g Grid Control a standby database from a allready existing db. At step 2 when the files should be generated and copied to the other system, I am always getting the error that there isn't enough disk space on the other system. This can't be because there is at least 30GB free and the installer is asking for less than 1GB. I was searching the whole internet for a solution to this issue, but there was just nothing that could help me out with that point...
Has someone an idea at this point? Thanks for helping...

Check that filesystem space using GC under targets>hosts on which you are trying to create standby. Do you have any specific error message from GC ? If GC shows proper size under host filesystem section then there shuld be no such problem. Double chk ur locations too.

Why would I get a white screen after answering a quiz click-through?

You'll have to do two things.. Elaborate on exactly what you mean by a white screen appears. What is turning white? Are you generating a SWF from captivate of a screen capture session, then trying to load that SWF with a wrapper and when you do so it turns white? (In that scenario, if Captivate was looking for external assets it can't find, that'd be why). Please include more details on that.
Second, code of this size pasted into the forum really doesn't help. You'll need to do the work to isolate exactly what part of the code you're seeing this white box appear. Run it in a debugger line by line until you witnesss it turn white and only share that small portion of code. And if you do choose to share a ton of code, please use a site like pastebin.com which will retain formatting and color coding, making it much easier to read, and then share that pastebin link.

Forms not appearing in Response file when added and no preview

One of my users has a form created with Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 and has been using it happily for the last 12 months up until about a month ago. The problem is when she receives the responses via email and double clicks on the attached PDF, it says it has been added to the response file and the total responses count goes up by one but you cannot see the response in the list.
She also says that other times the total count goes down when a response is added and again you cannot see the reponse in the list. A further problem is that when you Dbl-click a response in the list, you don't get a preview of the form you just get a blank window. I at first thought this may be a corruption but we did a restore of the file from a month before this started happening and we get the same result with that file.
I tried opening this file on another PC which had Acrobat 9.0 Pro but I get the same result. There are no filters applied and I have played with every view setting I could find to no avail. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I apologise if my comments sounded too harsh. I work for a lot of corporations and quasi government departments. I have to work with "web teams" all the time and they're a very mixed bag. Some are up with the technology and can actually be creative. If Accessibility is what they want, Captivate has very strong features in this area. Certainly better than any other e-learning tool I've seen. You turn these on by selecting the Accessibility checkbox under Preferences.
If you don't like my idea of using Rollover Captions for ALT text, you can simply add accessibility text to any image on screen by selecting the image and clicking the Accessibility button.
Then in the dialog that pops up, you just untick the checkbox for automatic text (based on the name of the object) and add in your own like this:

HELP! Oracle FailSafe - Listener fails when adding standalone database

Well, I have a cluster of two nodes with the following specs:
(1) an Oracle 10g database each
(2) Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)
(3) Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition
(4) Intel Itanium Processor
(5) Oracle Failsafe 3.3.3 for Windows 2003 64-bit
The 64-bit Oracle Failsafe doesn't come with Oracle Failsafe Manager, so I used a Failsafe Manager remotely from another clustered servers. The version is also 3.3.3, but it's running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Well, after connecting to the 64-bit cluster, I added the standalone database to a Cluster Group. There are two cluster groups on the Server:
(1)"Cluster Group" (the default cluster group created by MSCS); containing an IP address, a network name, Oracle Cluster Services, and the Quorum hard drive.
(1)"ORACLE DB" A cluster gropu I created for the database; containing another IP address, a network name for the IP address, and every hard drive volumes of the database files.
The database currently resides on the Node 2 (because I created it there). I have successfully verified the database (using "Verify Standalone Database" option). BUT when I added the database into the cluster group ORACLE DB, it failed with the following message:

11gR2 Recon Insert Received stuck in Pending when adding a task on response

Reconciliation Insert Received stuck in Pending when generating a task on "Event Processed" response
When configuring a task to be generated on a "Event Processed" response for the Reconciliation Insert Received task the Reconciliation Insert Received task gets stuck in a Pending status. The Resource Object instance is created for the user but the task to be triggered on Event Processed response is never added to the process. I have tried this with multiple resource objects / process definitions. If a task is not configured to be triggered on the Event Processed response then the Reconciliation Insert Received task completes as expected. There are no exceptions in the logs when this occurs. I can see that the Reconciliation Insert Received task response is set to "Event Processed" but it's in a pending status. I've tried configuring the task to be added as a task with a simple copy adapter or even one that simply auto completes. If this task is added manually it completes as expected. Can anyone provide any input as to why my task is not being triggered and the Recon Insert Received task is getting stuck in a Pending status? I have performed the same configuration in previous OIM versions several times with no problems. Also, I don't see any exceptions in the logs during the time the reconciliation is happening either.

FYI - Oracle Support has confirmed that this is a bug with no resolution yet. Bug # is 15971696.

Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

How can I read a response from a deleted post?

I am NOT trying to cause trouble. I was just trying to vent a little about how things have changed with iTunes. I may not have done it in the "correct" way, but why take it off?
One person did respond to it (maybe it was the moderator?).
Could I at least read the response?

If I'm remembering your post correctly, it was almost certainly because you did, indeed, vent (and putting "Rant" in the header was just a red flag). The terms of use of the Discussions prohibit posts that are only complaints, and though your post had some valid comments, the way you presented it obviously caught a Host's attention, and they've been tending to be somewhat "quick on the trigger" in removing posts deemed inappropriate.
In any case, the best way to submit comments and suggestions to Apple regarding iTunes is through the iTunes feedback page.
And the response would not have been from a Discussions Host. They don't respond that way to posts they remove.

No response when attempting to post to message boards or choosing 'like' on FB

I have had my i-Pad3 for about 6 weeks. Until last night I could post messages on internet message boards, or 'like' on FB, with or without using the FB app.
This morning I can still access message boards, but nothing happens when I click 'post'.
When I use Safari to access Facebook, I no longer can post or use the 'like' button. When I click 'like', I get a blank/white screen. FB works fine with the app.
What has possibly changed, or could this be a Safari problem?
Are there any programs to 'clean disk/defrag' or do other maintenance on my i-Pad3?

I had exactly the same issue with my nokia 6021 and PC suite 6.84: I could connect via bluetooth or IR, access to my phone through the phone browser but no way to synchronize. I tryed restauring the factory configuration, installing other versions, reinstalling, trying to make it work from an other Pc (both under windows XP service pack 2 btw) nothing worked...
untill I found a site still distributing an old 6.6 version of the suite! now it works!
I advise poeple having a Nokia 6021 to download the PC suite 6.6 from this link: http://www.soft32.com/download_121441.html
Nokia should acknowledge this regression from there PC Suite. Untill it is fixed, I think the best solution is the link above.
(PS: do not try version 6.42, it is too old and make your PC freeze...)
