Failed to start Apache Web Service

I hava KDE. When I start the laptop, it goes to a black screen with a mouse pointer (kde mouse pointer). Everytime I have to press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to go to tty1 and I see this message
Failed to start Apache Web Service
and it suggest to see "systemctl status httpd.service". After I restart kdm.service in tty1, everything is ok. Here is the output of "systemctl status httpd.service".

It looks like you didn't merge pacnew files (correctly) after upgrading apache.
mod_authn_default.so is removed, have a look at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/upgrading.html

Apache Web Services Listener not starting after bouncing application

Can some one please help? I am runnng 11.5.10.2 on Solaris.

I can not start my Apache Web Services Listener via ADSTRTAL.SH (log filed saved with 0 (zero) bytes – so no results to look at).
I also tried to start it using the adapcctl.sh start as the applmgr user and I get the same error as adstrtal.sh.

Error Starting up Web Services

I am using FuegoBPM Studio 5.5. Every time I click "start server" button in the studio, I always get an error message "Error starting up Web Services in 'http://mycomputername:9000'. Details: Address already in use: JVM_Bind". I can still launch my work portal but I just don't like to see the error message. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Port 9000 is used for process web service (listener port) by default. So if in your machine some other software is using that port, it will throw the message.
In studio this port is embedded. I am not sure if there is any way through the studio interface you can change it.
But if you have enterprise installation then you can change the port number by going to the Web Console/Process Administrator and looking for "Web Services Listener Port" in Engine's Services tab.

Unable to start xsp web service - Windows Client

Hi all,
I've got a problem with the Windows client (Windows 7 64-bit). When I start the client I get an error that says:
Unable to start xsp web service, iFolder will not be able to work, restart the application.
The client actually starts up. However, I'm unable to do anything with it. Are there any logs I can provide that may give you a bit more insight into what's going on?
I can connect from my mac client and a colleague can connect (from outside the firewall) from his Windows client.

Does Weblogic 8.1 use Apache web service libraries

Does Weblogic 8.1 use Apache web service libraries ? I've been pressured to include the apache web service libraries, but have been resistant. I was later told by those wanting me to include the apache libraries that weblogic uses the apache libraries, but I have not found any evidence of it.
Can some confirm or deny this?

Hosting an Apache web service inside WLS is basically deploying the Apache service as a webapp in WLS. And in the webapp's WEB-INF\lib folder you would have the Apache libraries.

Turning on Web Sharing does not work and fails to load apache web server

Sort of answering my own question here but hope it will be useful to other people and save them some time.
After receiving my shiny new imac with os x lion pre-installed, I was a little dismayed and confused when I went to System Preferences -> Internet and Wireless -> Sharing and attempted to check the Web Sharing. Every time I clicked this option I was told Web Sharing was starting but would then repeatedly fail and apache failed to start.
Looking in the Console I find:

TO FIX THIS ISSUE:
It appears /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib does not exist but /usr/lib/libpq.5.3.dylib does.
Fix by creating a symbolic link from /usr/lib/libpq.5.3.dylib to /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libpq.5.3.dylib /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib
Going back to System Preferences -> Internet and Wireless -> Sharing clicking Web Sharing a couple of times turns Web Sharing on successfully!
Going to http://localhost/ displays the "It Works!" page.

I have posted this as a new post as well but if anyone has five mins could they take a look - I would be very grateful. Here you go:
I am new to all this so I have probably made some simple errors and I hope someone can help me. I will retell what I have done as I haven't a clue what part of what I have done has mucked things up.
I am really stuck. Web sharing will not start on my iMac running Lion OS X. It did work fine and then I wanted to activate PHP so my test website contact form would work (and send the data on the form throught to my email address.
Before I did anything I turned on websharing and could view my website from another computer using: http://192.168.1.4/~stewartfergusson/
I think followed the instructions on this link to activate PHP -http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/php_leopard.php
I then did a few things in terminal and will paste below what I did:

An important point to note is that I now appear to have more than one http.config file and they are located in the following locations:
1) Macintosh HD/etc/apache2/httpd.conf.default
2) Macintosh HD/etc/apache2/httpd.conf.default.default
3) Macintosh HD/etc/apache2/original/httpd.conf
I edited this file (which one I have not got a clue) and also the php.ini file within Macintosh HD/etc/ using Terminal - the command I used was sudo cp php.ini.default php.ini
This php.ini file now exists in two locations now as well:
1) Macintosh HD/etc/php.ini
2) Macintosh HD/etc/php.ini.default
I then edited this file by changing the line of code below from:
514 error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE (I think it said E_DEPRECATED actually) but I am lifting this from the web page in the link above)
To:
514 error_reporting = E_ALL
I then saved this file.
I then deactivated web sharing in System Preferences and since then have not been able to restart Web Sharing. I click it and it flashes orange for a second then does not start.
This was all done to activate PHP on my iMac so I can host my own site which has a PHP contact form page.
Please help I am so out of my depth I am very worried I may have changed things and I am going to forget what I did.
If you need to know anything then please ask.

Could you check if you have this directory? (It can be empty):
/var/run/httpd
permissions should be root:root, mod:755

Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application - multiple copies of Office 2013 x32 failing to start, Software Protection Service timing out

We're experiencing a growing problem with our users in several different domains running in to Microsoft Office 2013 x32 'activation' issues. We use KMS for licensing, which works properly, but some of the machines (~20-30 out of 1000+) sporadically
throw the following error:
'Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application. Microsoft Office will now exit.'
We know it's not an issue with the licenses per se, since they work on and off and we can force KMS activation correctly / talk to the KMS servers.
It appears to be an issue with the Software Protection service not starting properly. In Event Viewer, we see the following:
'Software protection service failed to start due to the following error- the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
Event 7000'
This is occurring on a variety of machines in a variety of environments, all fully patched with the latest Office updates. It's inconsistent, and the 'manually restart the Software Protection Service' solution is not viable as it's occurring on many
different workstations. Office repairs have also been unsuccessful.
Has anyone else come across this? Or have any idea why the Software Protection Service might be sporadically failing? Maybe an Office update in the last 2-3 months?

Install OEM 12c fails on "start oracle management service". win2008

Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 x64
Oracle Database 11g release 11.2.0.3.0
I install OEM 12c(12.1.0.3) following this manual: Installing Enterprise Manager System
before start i've installed WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and aplied 2 patches specified in this manual
installation type is advanced, small, so i have created database from the appropriate template
i also installed cygwin and started ssh-service
the installation of OEM process fails on 73% "start oracle management service" with this message:

First of all with EM 12.1.0.x any version you are not required to install wls separately, we have single installer for em and wls. Is there any specific reason you installer wls separately?
Coming back to your issue: can you check
%OMS_HOME%\BIN>emctl istart oms completes successfully.
%OMS_HOME%\BIN>emctl istop oms completes successfully.
Also open an SR with Oracle support and share the number. We should debug such issue through SR so that we can share logs and come find a root cause.

Java client failing to connect to web service - help!!

I have created a Web service using ASP Web Matrix, which currently resides on my C drive in c:\Service6\HelloWorld.asmx.
The service can be tested from a browser on my local machine by calling: http://localhost/Service6/HelloWorld.asmx. This works fine, i.e. it takes a string as a parameter and returns an amended string.
When I try to access this from a Java client I created in Netbeans, however, I get the following error message:
Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: sayHiya.

Problem starting apache web server [SOLVED]

when i start apache manually (sudo /etc/rc.d/./httpd start) i just get a fail, but when i start it through webmin i get the following:
stty: standard input: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Can someone tell me how i can fix this, or if it is too hard to fix, give me the name of the next best http server available?

i had problems with apache too, but then i just did some changes:
in httpd.conf i changed user from nobody to httpd;
then added to system user httpd via adduser httpd in group nobody and it worked well

Get started with web service API

I have a test installation and I can run the web service calls using the URL https://myserver.com/sgd/admin/apitest/. I can authenticate and start a session and open an application using this apitest fixture.
I can't find any documentation about using the web service API beyond the javadocs. Can someone tell me the default web service endpoint so I can download the wsdl? Are there any examples or tutorials out there for writing a web application that calls the web service APIs?

Hi, I am not able to publish a web service today morning
The error thrown is
Service call failed. Error 400 (Bad Request) when requesting /webservicegroups/aeb419ce7f9f46b3a560536ea34a1416/modelpackages/
Please help me with this.

There could be many causes for this error. Two most common causes in my experience:
1. There is a split module between web-service input and web-service output path.
2. If doing text analytics, forgetting to just pick the label column as an output as the output (you may need to insert a project columns module to do this). -- otherwise the web-service would have to be able to return thousands of hashed values.
Are you running into either of these issues?

Web Start and Web Services

Hi,
I have a web services client which I have set up to run through web start. My only problem is that now that I am running through web start, the client cannot connect to the service.
The code runs to the point when it attempts to make the actual connection. Can anyone provide any words of wisdom as to why this might be happening? I'd really like to get this going, so if anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.

Sorry, I think the problem may have something to do with security. I've noticed that when I run the jar, I am not shown a dialog which states that the application is requesting full access to the computer. I am signing the jar, so I'm not sure what's going on.
