Failing to import entire songs into library

when I import a cd into my Itunes library, most of the songs stop 5 to 10 seconds short, some only import the first couple of seconds and then moves to the next song, only to skip that too! Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Is your Nikon listed here (http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html) as a Tiger compatible camera? Also have you run this update: Digital Camera RAW Support Update 1.0.1 (Universal)
Do you Twango?

  • ITunes Not Fully Importing Existing Songs into Library

I recently updated my laptop to one running Vista, installed iTunes (inc. downaloading the very latest version), and used the 'Add Folder to Library' function to add my existing mp3 files to my iTunes library.
I have about 10,000 mp3 files, mostly RIPed from CDs.
About 90% of the songs were added correctly. However, a large number were added, but with incomplete information. Song titles were added, but no artist or album titles. These were left blank.
This information IS stored in the mp3 files - it is visibile when I use Windows Media or Realplayer to manage them.
So question 1 is: What is going wrong?
Also, using the Get Info function to attempt to change information on ALL and EVERY of the files that I add to the library does not work. The information is greyed out and cannot be edited.
And question 2 is: Why is this happening?
    Assistance readily accepted.
    Thanks!
    Pete

Sounds like the library ITL file got damaged and lost the placemarkers to the song files.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732
I'd just rebuild the library by dragging everything in again, after either clearing it (so you wont have duplicates) or using a fresh blank library ( hold shift key down when starting iTunes).

  • How can I copy a music CD to a blank CD on my iMac without importing the songs into my itunes?

So far the solutions I have seen suggest to import the songs into iTunes, create a playlist, and then burn this playlist to a blank CD.
However, I don't want these songs in my playlist. My mother-in-law asked me to make a copy for her and it is her type of music which i don't want in my iTunes.
Is there any way I can copy these songs without importing them first?
    Thanks!

No, unless you use the copy function in Roxio Toast.
You could try via Disk Utility but you may be thwarted by copy protection.
Of course, there is nothing to stop you deleting those tracks from iTunes after you have made the copy!

  • I can't import any songs into iTunes.

I can't import any songs into iTunes. I can drag and drop but nothing will happen. Songs show up when a search is done but songs cannot be played or located in iTunes. I think this has something to do with the recent update because I have songs imported into iTunes from December.

I found the problem. I have VMware fusion that is hosting Window XP on the iMac. When the fusion is running the CD player is not seen in OS. By quitting Fusion I can now insert a CD and the disk icon appears on the OS screen. Now I can bring up iTunes and import the audio and continue as before. The one exception is I cannot bring in a photo of the album cover as before I have to drag the photo out of iPhoto and onto the desk top. Then I can drag it into the artwork patch in the iTunes/ info window.

  • Can I import a song into the garage band app and edit it?

I'm a music teacher and I'm trying to cut out a few verses in a song for my students. How do I import a song into the garbage app?

How do I import a song into the garbage app?
    "garbage app"?  Surely you're joking
To use a song in GarageBand on your iPad, sync it from a computer using iTunes to the iPad, so the song will be in the Music.app.    All songs in the Music.appp can be added to a GarageBand project as loops, using the Loop Browser.

  • Cannot import multiple songs into my library!

I can import a folder and a single song but I can't import multiple songs in iTunes 7!! Version 6 was fine! Also the icon for iTunes is missing!

All PDF files imported to the iTunes library by the user will be treated as "books". You should find your digital booklet in the Books section of your library. Use the Get Info dialog box to change the media kind to music and add in the correct Album, Artist, Album Artist and Genre. The booklet should merge into the album. If not see my tip Tried that, there are STILL too many covers!
To confirm; audiobooks, digital booklets, iPod clickwheel games, iTunes LPs, iTunes extras, ringtones and selected movies are excluded from the repeat download policy that applies to other purchases from the iTunes store. Podcasts and iTunes U content is supplied independently of the store and future availability will depend on the provider. Any content may be removed from the iTunes store at any time without notice and would thus be no longer available for redownloading. You should always maintain your own backup of your iTunes library and its content.

  • How to import multiple songs into iTunes

    Hello there...
I am fairly new to iTunes and am becoming frustrated with this particular issue. Prior to using iTunes, I used Kazaa, where whenever a song was added to My Shared Folder, Kazaa would update the library instantly. I want to have the same sort of thing with iTunes. For example, one of my friends filled my USB drive with music today. When I came home and plugged it into my computer, I dragged and dropped all the songs into my iTunes Music folder. I expected them to appear in the library, but they're not there. I don't know how to add them all to iTunes without importing them one by one. I suppose in this case I could import my entire USB drive folder, but what if someone sends me a handful of songs as an email attachment or over MSN? How do I import those?
    Thank you!
    Melody
    Windows XP

iTunes for windows doesn't "Watch" folders and files for changes like other programs. You need to goto File>add folder to library so it will "Piont" iTunes to where the music is located on the system.

  • HELP!  Need to re-import entire 280 gig library

Right now my music library is so inaccurate in iTunes to what is actually in the music folder that I need to have a fresh library.
I need to reimport the entire 280g library of music for iTunes.
What is the best way to achieve this ?
The music folder for iTunes is on an external firewire drive.
To import the music folder just choose "add to library" or "import" from file menu in iTunes ?
Or drag and drop the entire music folder to iTunes icon on dock without the "copy files to music folder when importing" box checked in the prefs?
Is there a way to keep the playlists ?
Do I need to trash files in the user preferences ?
    Any other files to trash?
    Thanks,
    t

Why am I dragging the music into the iTunes folder and then choosing to import those files into the folder I just dragged them into ?
You are not importing them into any folder. You are adding them to the iTunes library.
Putting something into the iTunes music folder does NOT add it to iTunes library.
If you do not put them into that folder and simply File -> Add to library, iTunes will copy all 280GB into the iTunes music folder.
You don't need another copy on your HD.

  • Importing entire project into DTR

    Hello All,
I need to put my project into DTR.
Can i import my entire project into DTR inspite of doing it file by file.
    Thanks & Regards
    Abhivyakti

Since my colorsit doesn't have CS4, I nested sequences in another timeline so that when I imported project in AE my colorist could see the one clip nest and click it to see other timeline to see all clips detail.
    Thank you.

  • How do I import a song into GarageBand from 'Music'

how do I import a song which is in 'music' on my iPad into 'GarageBand' on the same iPad - I do not use the Cloud currently but I should not need to for this simple import (sorry, just starting to use the iPad today for the first time) thx

I believe at the moment the only way to import new samples into GarageBand is via the File Sharing feature of iTunes when it is connected to a computer. iCloud won't help as each app is sandboxed and can generally only access its own files. Transfer of data between apps is possible but is tightly controlled and mediated by iOS rather than by simply sharing files between applications as you would on a computer.

  • Importing Garageband Songs into Logic Express

I recently imported a song that I created in Garageband into Logic Express (I already downloaded the most recent version) and I can't hear the Audio from the song. What should I do?

Very common question. Usually means you're not routing the audio through the "output 1-2" channel strip or the core audio settings are wrong.
You can search here or on google and found thousands of forum threads about the same thing. You should find your answer easily. Also, read the getting started manual.
Logic ain't GB and requires more manual controlling to organize. This is good.

  • Problem importing Garageband songs into Logic  Express

Hi I have spent around 4 hours looking for an answer to this problem so hopefully it has'nt been answered before apolgies if it has.
I am trying to import a Garageband Song into Logic Express (7.1) it appears to import it to Logic but when finished it reads file corrupt not a Logic File.
I followed the tutorial opened the GB song and followed the instructions on how to import but I cant import it to Logic without the above message coming up.
    Any ideas?
I'm using a MacBook Pro with 10.4.9 on it.Logic is version 7.1 (Is there a known bug when importing?)
Thank you if you can help.
    KB.

    Hi KB,
    Welcome to the forum!
    the answer is within your question;
your machine needs the universal Logic express (7.2)
and your GB's probably GB 3.
That's the reason you can open the files.
If you bought version 7 "new"(from the reseler)
ask for version 7.2, as you can't buy crossgrade anymore.
(until logic sells a new one)
"You just bought diesel and your machine's not run on it"
rule number 1: You should Allways look for system requirements and software versions compability!
    Cheers,
    Jorge
