Failover-proof filesystem for iSCSI on a 7410?

Hello,
I've started playing with iSCSI on our clustered 7410 system, and created an ext3 filesystem on a LUN, which is mounted on a RHEL server. This works fine, however when the 7410 fails over to passive head, the client remounts the filesystem as readonly:
EXT3-fs error (device dm-4): ext3_journal_start_sb: Detected aborted journal
Remounting filesystem read-onlyThe filesystem can be umounted and mounted rw again quite happily, but is not exactly a seamless process.
Any suggestions for a linux filesystem which can robustly handle these failovers?
Thanks,
James

Sorry guys for the late reply,
I tried to switch the owners of RG to both the nodes simultaniously, which is taking reasonable time. But the failover for a dry run is taking 30mts
The same setup with SVM is working fine, but i want to have ZFS in my zone cluster
Thanks in advance
Sid

    Hi,
What is the path in the filesystem for the deployed Wendynpro application in the WAB AS
If you search for your component under the /usr/<SID> folder
We have a different version of webdynpro application running in production and non production , what is the process for overwriting the deployed application from one enviorment to another.
If you have NWDI in place CTS would help in this, else you can deploy your application using sdm.
in CE you can deploy the application from NWDS.

  • Different proofing languages for new mail & replies in Outlook 2010

I have recently been upgraded to Windows 7 & Office 2010 at work.  My biggest frustration (currently) is the proofing language used by Outlook.  I have managed to set my proofing language to English (Canada) finally (for a while it insisted
on German (Switzerland) with an interesting brief deviation to Portuguese (Brazil) for some reason) for new messages.  I have moved my custom dictionary over from my old computer & it works fine.  Unfortunately, try as I might, I cannot get my
proofing language for REPLIES to use English (Canada).  It insists on English (US) and won't use my custom dictionary.
    Suggestions?

I use lightroom with the soft proofing feature for my printing. I used to make a copy proof, but all of the sudden something changed, and even if I'm on the copy in the developing mode it prints the original. Also, If i chose a file that was already in light room to print, even though I have the chosen file up in the developing mode, it will instead print the most recent file that I added to lightroom. If found a way to work around these problems, (check make this the copy in the soft proofing, and copy my settings and delete and reload the old files) but it's a slight hassle and it didn't use to do this. Not sure why it changed. Could I have accidentally changed a setting?

  • Etherchannel two cisco 3750 stacks for iscsi?

I have two sites connected by 96 strands of fibre. At each site I have an IBMv7000 relicating to the other one. For iSCSI traffic I have two Cisco 3750 switches, each are in 2 switch stack.
SAN A                         Fibre Link                          SAN B
            |                                                                        |
    Cisco Stack A =========================Cisco Stack B

            |                                                                        |
    iSCSI Clients                                                       iSCSI Clients
My question: Is it ok to connect the the two stacks with etherchannel using the fibre links? Will is provide the necessary redundancy, if one of the interfaces goes down?

What model numbers of 3750 are you using?
What is the distance between the stacks as this will dictate your fiber run modules.

  • Is SQL Server Engine failover service spported for Orchestrator databases?

    Hi there,
    I have the following question:
Is SQL Server Engine failover service spported for Orchestrator 2012 R2 databases?
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi,
yes, the issue that Orchestrator does not reconnect when the SQL server is restarted is has been fixed in System Center 2012 Orchestrator Service Pack 1 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2768366)
Orchestrator requires "only "the basic SQL Server features found in the Database Engine Service. No additional features are required.

  • Suggest filesystem for multimedia (TV Shows & Movies only) files

I got a new HDD, Samsung Green, 500 GB, SATA II @ 5400 rpm. I'll use this to basically store all my multimedia files (TV Shows & Movies, no music) which will be accessed via XBMC. Moreover, I may use it to store some VirtualBox disk images as well. This partition will also be shared by Debian 6.0 which I intend to install by allocating a little space (25 GB). So, in a nutshell, here's what the partition table is going to  look like :-
    /dev/sdb1 = Debian, ext4 25 GB
    /dev/sdb2 = XBMC, 441 GB
Now I need you guys to suggest me a filesystem for the XBMC partition. It will not be accessed by Windows. I was initially thinking of going the Btrfs way, but I think that it is still in unstable stage (according to Wikipedia). Ext4 is robust and tested. I was also eyeing XFS & Reiser4.
The conclusion is, I'm really confused. Help me out!!
The system is running on AMD Athlon II X4 640, 4 GB RAM & NVIDIA GTX 260 Core 216 & is pure 64-bit and fully updated.

Either ext4 or xfs will do fine, there are a few other threads about this on the forums so i would suggest to look around a bit.

  • Do the life proof cases for the iPhone 5 also work for the 5s?

Do the life proof cases for the iPhone 5 also work for the 5s or are the cases different for the 5s?
    Thanks!

Do cases made for iPhone 5 also work with iPhone 5s?
While iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s have the same shape and size, the camera and LED flash are different. So cases made for iPhone 5 may affect the camera operation on iPhone 5s, and vice versa. When shopping for cases, you should choose one specifically made for the iPhone model you own.

    Hello Communality,
    I need you help!
here is the goal: connect SAN and vmware ESXi by iSCSI via cisco3750g.
on cisco I'm using a separated vlan for iSCSI traffic.
So after turning on the JumboFrames on cisco ( system mtu jumbo 9000 > reload) I was trying to test it using PING command from the switch without success :-(

System MTU size is 1500 bytes
System Jumbo MTU size is 9000 bytes
System Alternate MTU size is 1500 bytes

    Type escape sequence to abort.

  • JBOD controller for iSCSI storage server DIY build

    Hi,
I'm starting planning of an iSCSI storage server DIY build for my LAB setup to provide iSCSI CSV storage to my LAB Hyper-V cluster.
I'm looking for a JBOD controller that i can use without any additional RAID controller as i will be using storage spaces for "RAID". I will be using SATA drives and SFF8087 to SATA fan-out cables.
What cheap cards can i use for this (looking on ebay/amazon)?
This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights

    Hi Sir,
    >>I'm starting planning of an iSCSI storage server DIY build for my LAB setup to provide iSCSI CSV storage to my LAB Hyper-V cluster.
In my lab , I used 3 disks one for OS the other two were used for storage space then I created a mirrored disk for ISCSI CSV storage (it works well for my two nodes cluster LAB).
Actually , it depends on your need to choose  raid configuration and hardware card .

  • Most suitable filesystem for an SSD disk?

I'm thinking of getting a Solid State Drive, such as the new OCZ ones... price/gb is really coming down now.
Gonna put it in my laptop, and use an external drive for everything else. So what's the best filesystem for an SSD drive? One without journaling? Or what do you think guys?

wuischke wrote:jffs2 or other flash file systems are not a good idea in this case, because they assume direct access to the flash memory. SSD disks implement much of the functionality in firmware and use an SATA/IDE interface, i.e. they already deliver an abstraction which makes the use of a flash file system uneccessary.
    Interesting, good stuff.
    I'll read the Acer thread!

  • Creating iSCSI target on 7410

I am trying to set up iSCSI for a LUN on a 7410 and can't seem to figure out how to get it working. The documentation says that I should enable iSCSI under Shares/Protocols in the GUI, but I don't see such an option for any of my Shares.
I have the iSCSI protocol enabled in the general configs, and iSCSI is green under Project/Protocols along with "Export Target" being selected. I have tried to connect and find targets on the server (from Solaris client) but see nothing.

When you are creating Shares "Filesystems" is selected by default. It is non obvious but you can actually click on "LUNs" to the right of it to actually make iscsi luns.
