Fails to Launch Console Using OVM Manager 3.0.2 GUI

hi,
I simply want to open a VM using 'Launch Console' on the OVM Manager.
So I select the VM, then select 'Launch Console'. A popup window opens which allows to open or download "ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp"
when i try to open "ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp". java web start say's "Starting application" and it gives the below Unexpected Error
An error occurred while launching/running the application.

I'm trying to setup Cloud Control 12c Private Cloud environment. My machines in OVM pool have local disks so there is a repository per physical machine, plus one shared repository on NFS (OVM lists all those repositories in its UI)
When I try to navigate to VM Manager->Administration->Storage Repository page here is an error dialog I get:
"Failed to retrieve data from OVM Manager. Please check log file for details"
I've tried performing VM Manager->Synchronize, but that didn't help.
Let me note that I can go to other pages like Administration->Network without any problem.
What is a log file to look into? I tried looking under /u01/app/oracle/Middleware/oms/sysman/log but found nothing useful.

What is your crystal reports version ? CRXI or higher?
And does your filter bject consists of apostrophie s fields?
If this is the case then this is a known issue try installing the latest service packs or fix packs to see if it resolves the issue?

We are currently running Oracle Application release 12.1.1 and Oracle Database 10.2.0.4.1 on IBM Power 5 on AIX 6.1.
We are in process of Migration the whole environment to Intel based platform our go LIVE date is 26th september 2013 and the vendor has configured the Oracle VM environment, they suggested us to use Oracle VM templates but we did the test migration using iso files of Linux(x86_64) and Oracle DB Home and Oracle Application Techstack

Launch Console on OVM-3 not started

Hi
I imported templets and cloned it.
after that i started oracle VM guest..
and then i right click on VM guest and clicked on Lunch Console one pop'up came to download "ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp"
after downloading it i dont know what to do with it or how to launch it
Please can any one tell about this

OVM Manager 3.1.1 CLI clone big files error

We use ovm manager cli for backup purposses. During a clone operation of a big file after about 10 to 12 min. we get an error:
Error Msg: com.oracle.odof.exception.PermissionException: Exchange is not connected
But the clone operation is being continued successfully_.
So, from client point of view operation failed, but for server succeded.
Clone command is as follows:
ssh admin@ovmm -p 10000 "clone VirtualDisk id=$VM_FILE_ID target=$VM_FILE_REPO_ID cloneType=Sparse"
The whole message:

We blamed timeouts, but after setting higher values nothing has changed.

This really sounds like this nasty timeout issue, which had its first appearances in the early builds of OVM 3.0.3 and prevented e.g. the creation of rather large storage repositories over iSCSI when using a standard 1 GBit connection. The command would simply timeout on the OVMM after 120 secs, rather than waiting for the ovs-agent to report back…
In OVM 3.1.1 (368) this timeout had been upped to 10 mins, but I knew that this only would last for months… and I told Oracle Support so, but eh… you know… ;)

I try to built a HA environment using ovm manager. Every thing is good until I try to add server to server pool. Add the first server is OK, but it stays on error state because of a cluster construct error.

I'm trying to add company knowledge using the OpsMgr 2012 console (32-bit) on Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) using the guidelines provided at the following link...

I have confirmed that the following instructions does allow you to use Word 2010 32-bit running on Windows 7 64-bit or Windows Server 2008 R2 to edit company
knowledge...
1. Go to the directory where the OpsMgr console is installed (example: C:\Program Files\System Center\Operations Manager 2012\Console )
2. Make a copy of Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe.config
3. Edit Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe.config using Administrator rights
4. Search for “</dependentAssembly>” and remove the “<publisherPolicy apply="no" />” line immediately following the “</dependentAssembly>” line

Well, firstly I have to agree with other people's comments along the lines of "It shouldn't be this hard!", but I can happily say that the solution above (by IM5FOOTNOTHIN)
worked for me...once I noticed this crucial footnote: "Do this for
ALL instances of the
<publisherPolicy apply="no" /> line that immediately follow the </dependentAssembly> line"

Connection problem to the OVM Manager 3.0.3 Console

My OVM Manager 3.0.3 installation was smooth on top of Oracle Linux 6.0, not even with a single error after taking care of some prerequisite warning stuff at the beginning.
After the installation, it displayed some info on how to connect to the OVM Manager Console.
http://ovmmanager:7001/ovm/console
https://ovmmanager:7002/ovm/console
But, not only neither address seems to work but also the server opens neither port.
I have no problem remotely logging into the shell via ssh.
Trying "telnet ovmmanager 7001" and "telnet ovmmanager 7002" isn't connecting.
Also, Oracle is up and running.
# ps -ef |grep XE |wc -l
31
# ps -ef |grep pmon
oracle 1610 1 0 02:28 ? 00:00:02 xe_pmon_XE
I rebooted it couple of times but the same thing.
Could someone please let me know where I should start?

Hi,
The reason is the /etc/rc.d/init.d/ovmm shell script. It tries to start the weblogic with oracle user. The oracle user doesnt have permission and it fails with a timeout

I am trying to discover OVM Manager and the OC job fails, I noticed that its trying to connected using port 54321 which only listens to localhost.
is there any way to change Ops Center discovery to use port 54322? I followed this process to enable port 54322 (port 54321 will only listen to localhost) http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27300_01/E27308/html/vmiug-manager-tcps.html.

VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C ( Not able to open disk management )

Hi,
This is happening on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 server. When we try to open Disk Management it would stay there with a message " connecting to virtual disk service " and after a while the message changes to " Unable
to connect to Virtual disk service ".
The disk management view stays blank with no drives shown in it. And the following error is registered in System event log -- " VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C "
The VDisk service is set to manual and stopped as it is supposed to be.
An application called " PI System " is installed on the server. We noticed that if we stop the " PI Application services " and reboot the server the disk management opens up fine. Has any one faced this or a similar

Lets start with updating the drivers and confirm you have the latest VDS patch updated from the link.
You cannot cancel a shrink operation on a volume in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

If after install above hotfix the problem still exist I suggest you ask your PI system software vendor for the further help.

Acrobat 7 fails to launch after placed into Applications using the ARD 3

When I copy Acrobat 7 Pro to multiple clients using ARD 3 Copy items mode, Acrobat fails to launch. I have tried to use three different admin machines to copy and I get the same thing. The permissions are correct with Acrobat and on the machine. The copy mode works fine using ARD 2.2.
Has anyone experienced this?

We used the included PackageMaker application to create a simple install package of the Acrobat folder to get around this problem. Installed the package via ARD. Works perfectly.

500 "Server error" when use User Management Console

Hello All, i'm staring with Hyperion products on this week))
I installed Shared Serveces and Essbase – System 9
I deployed Shared Serveces on OAS 10.1.3.1
And now when I use User Management Console and try to open
node 'Projects' I get an error 500 "Server error".
Why ?
Please help me resolve this issue
What's wrong? May be I have to install additional components to use Projects?
