Fails to open

Question

Simply put. One day Mail decided not to open and continues to not open. I click the icon, the force quit menu says it's running, but there's no window and the only way I can interact with it is to force quit it.
Is there a way to fix this?

Can't help if you won't help - post the log anyway.
In the meantime you can try:
Remove the Mail preferences file "com.apple.Mail.plist" located at /username/Library/Preferences/. This requires you to re-enter account information, but Mailbox setup and downloaded messages will all remain intact.
If that doesn't work, Open Terminal and type this command:
sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index vacuum index;
Press Return - nothing will seem to happen for a while, but wait until you get Terminal’s prompt back, then close Terminal. Launch Mail and test - this procedure cleans up the index file.
If all else fails, then move the 'Mail' folder in ~/Library/Mail to your Desktop (do NOT delete it at this stage). Also, move 'com.apple.mail.plist' from ~/Library/Preferences/ to your Desktop. You will need to setup your mailbox again when you open Mail - follow the default setup procedure and setup your mailbox as an IMAP account - it will synchronize/download the emails you have stored on the server if you have been saving your data there.
Test Mail and if it is OK, then you can import whatever data you have in the old Mail folder on your Desktop - Menu/File/Import Mailboxes/Mail for Mac OS X and navigate to the Mail folder on the Desktop, follow onscreen instructions.
