Fails to upload song and starts back at Step 1

I just added two songs to iTunes. They are long songs (60 minutes long) and are about 150 MB each. (The iTunes Match limit per song is 200 MB.) I added them to iTunes, and when Match tried to upload them (because it couldn't find a match) it uploaded the first one for about 10 seconds, then failed and started back at Step 1.
I assume the problem is the song's size; I also heard that iTunes Match, when uploading, tends to "choke" on its own upload and subsequently fail.
Is there anything I can do to fix this, so that I can add these two songs to my iTunes library?

I spent the past few days battling this exact problem and believe I have fixed it.
I believe this actually is an ISP related issue (even if that sounds like BS at first). I do not have these problems when I use the internet at work, or use my personal hotspot on my phone, but I do have them on my home internet (Comcast).
I believe that when iTunes Match begins uploading, it maxes out the uplink bandwidth of the Comcast connection, renders it useless and causes the connection to time out. iTunes Match thinks the connection died, and it stops, then restarts.
The way I fixed it was limiting my maximum upload bandwidth via my router. My router (Netgeard WNDR3700) has a setting that allows me to set up maximum uplink bandwidth. Speedtest.net told me my connection had 4-5mbps up, so I limited it via my router to 2mbps.
As soon as I did this, my uploads began working without timing out and restarting.

I have this issue.  Album artwork was totally fine before.  After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
    Please fix!

  • ITunes Match fails to upload songs

I am posting this as information for other hapless iTunes Match users with the same problem.
When I first subscribed to iTunes Match it successfully completed Steps 1 and 2 but failed to complete Step 3, where it uploads songs and artwork not found in the iTunes Store. The failure mechanism is that the screen "dims" and the process starts all over again. Cycling like this indefintely and never uploading any songs. However, those songs that could be matched were, and made available in iCloud for my iOS devices and Apple TV.
I have spent 4 weeks trading emails with an iTunes Senior Advisor, who reports that the engineers have told her that the issue is with Match and not my computer or songs (library). During this time my Match account was refunded so that I could try again, however, the results were the same and I have requested a second refund and will not use Match.
One of the experiments that I conducted was to create a new, and clean, iTunes Library and populate it with only six albums (to reduce testing time). Three albums were iTunes Store purchases and three were known to not be in the Store, thus had to be uploaded. Match completed its process with only the purchased albums but failed, in the manner described above, with the ones to be uploaded. Deleting iTunes preference files and having iTunes rebuild its XML library file had no effect on the problem.
Since Match obviously works for some people (but not for me) there must be an obscure issue with my libray or the Match servers, or both. Hopefully someone smarter than myself has some ideas.

The -2114 error, typically occurs when trying to download / stream an uploaded Song file.  The error tends to be intermittant and may simply indicate a failing server in the Apple infrastructure.
Local action, wait for a period and re-try - usually successful - once working, ensure you download and backup a secure local version - or simply restore a good version from existing local backup.

  • My iphone 4 stopped recognizing when it is plugged in to charge. I have to let it completely die and do a soft reset for it to charge and start back up. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

My iPhone 4 stopped recognizing when it is plugged in to charge. It has to completely die and a soft reset has to be done to it before it will charge and start back up running. A tech at a store said it was just a short in the phone and nothing could be done to fix it, but I'm sure there has to be other options. Any suggestions?

To rule out a software issue or damaged data inside the backup, set it up as new device without using the latest backup afterwards.
If the phone is back to normal after that, restore from the backup again.

  • IPhone's iPod crashes after 1 song and goes back to start page

After the 3.0 OS upgrade I have had several occurances of the iPhone's iPod crashes/stopping/resetting itself after playing 1 track. The first time I resolved it by re-syncing it with iTunes, however, it's not repairing the problem now.
    Anyone any suggestions?

I am experiencing this same problem. I had trouble loading an audio book on last night, which i cancelled mid way through
Today i get through one maybe two songs and the audio stops. I restart and the ipod bombs out part way through the first track
    Rebooting didn't fix

  • ITunes Match fails to upload songs in Step 3

This is an update to my earlier post on this problem.
During Step 3, when iTunes Match is supposed to upload non-iTunes Store music and artwork, it fails for an unknown reason and repatedly attemps the process all over again. This continues until aborted by the user.
After several months of frustrated tinkering, one of the iTunes Senior Advisors, suggested a solution that did solve the probelm. The solution is to limit the upload speed of the router to something less than 3 Mbps. Apparently, with high speed uploads either the iTunes Match server or iTunes itself cannot cope with the data flow and the upload process crashes with no indication to the user. While this solved my problem and my approximately 1,500 songs eventually uploaded, it did take more than 10 hours. But its done and my compete library is now on iTunes Match.
I pointed out to Apple that this solution was, in my opinion, a serious flaw in the iTunes Match offering and that Apple needs to address the problem.
My ISP provider is Comcast and I typically get download speeds of 28 Mbps and upload speeds of 5 Mbps. Obviously the 5 Mbps is too fast for the iTunes Match ecosystem. I was able to adjust the upload speed by changing the QoS settings of my Linksys router and giving iTunes a priority over other apps.
Hopefully this post helps out others with the saem problem.

  • Daughter IPOD Touch 4th lost all music from itunes, Itunes suggested to restore to factory settings. Have done so last few days, all showing 20 hours to restore then times out and starts back to 20 hours again. Will not sync at all. HELP

IPOD TOUCH(4th gen) MUSIC DISPLAY has wiped out all my music. The music I have is all still on ITUNES but will NOT SYNC. When attempted a displayes message appeared- Cannot read contents of IPOD (my IPOD name), go to Summary tab to Restore to factory settings. When I click OK it takes me to a CLICK on RESTORE OPTION, which I did. Then it explains that I will lose all APPS, etc.. to restore. I clicked OK again and it shows my IPOD is Downloading Software Update. The only thing being it has done this for 3 days now. It starts by stating will take 20 hours, goes down to 12 or 10 and prompts OUT and when I redo the thing again it starts back up at 20 hours but continually times out. *Also, in case it matters ,the SYNC option on my IPOD in ITUNES is Highlighted as to where I cannot use that option. Everytime I start it back up I get the same message (Cannot read contents of IPOD, go to Summary Tab,etc..) Help.

  • Measure the a song and get back some value to present this song

I would like use the labview to play a song, and the program can measure the sound level and output the value to present this song. Can i use LabView to do that? Is there any example similar with my application?

    HK,
Yes, you can use LabVIEW to do this. In fact, there are 12 shipping examples that use the sound VIs in LabVIEW 6.1. One of them is a wav player. This, and parts of other examples will be helpful for your application.
