Failure of "agent configuration assistant" during 10.2 install on Win2003

I am doing a full install of 10.2 EM Grid with new database on Windows 2003. The install is successful until the last step, the "agent configuration assistant"
The GUI points me to the ConfigToolsFailedCommands file but it has only this as the entry:
"oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn"
Any ideas?

You can to verify if you have a problem with the firewall. Run the next comands
    Execute CMD and run
telnet hostname XXXX ------------> where XXXX is the AGENT PORT . This port its configure in the emd.properties file. This file is in the AGENT_DIRECTORY\sysman\config\
If you dont execute a telnet to this port, you have a firewall problem

  • Manually starting Intelligent Agent Configuration Assistant and HTTP Listener

I have installed Oracle 9i on Solaris 8 and it stopped with an "Out of Memory" error during the Starter Database creation. I have fixed the memory problem and have now manually started the Database Configuration Assistant manually and managed to install a new database. Now I am trying to start the Intelligent Agent Configuration Assistant and the Apache HTTP Listener, but I cannot find out how to do this so that I can continue on with and complete the installation process from where I left off.
Do anyone know how to do this? I would appreciate any help that anyone can give.
    Thanks
    Anthony

Lets start with what product you are installing and why. An Oracle database installation, in and of itself, does not install an HTTP server.
Of course one might also wonder why you are, just now, installing software so old it is in desupport.

  • Agent Configuration Assistant

I want to install Oracle 9 on a Fedora Core 1.
I follow the instruction on the website :
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/Oracle9iInstallationOnFedora1.php
Everything goes well, but at the end, I have an error with the "Agent Configuration Assistant" :
    Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
    Agent service failed
    I don't find the problem

    hi,
try re-installing it but selecting 'Software Only' in Database Creation. i believe it's not connecting because you'd still have to install patch 3119415, after upgrading it to 9.2.0.4 if you used the 9.2.0.1 installers, for the agent to work properly. just make all of the corrective measures on the documentation then use dbca or emca to create your database afterwards.
it took me a week to get mine installed properly on Fedora Core 1 with Enterprise Manager. if you also want to try to understand why you're instructed to install all of these patches, this website helped me a lot as well:
    http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml
    enjoy!

  • Agent Configuration Assistant canceled

i want to install oracle 9iR2... at the end of installation after creating a database, i get the canceled Agent Configuration Assistant..
    The other assistant is succeeded
    - Oracle Net Configuration Assistant
    - Oracle Database Configuration Assistant
    - Starting HTTP Server
but the Agent Configuration Assistant canceled.
    Details for Agent Configuration Assistant
    Parameter "orahome" = /u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.1.0
    Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
    Agent Service Failed
What is Agent Configuration Assistant?? what should i do??

Lets start with what product you are installing and why. An Oracle database installation, in and of itself, does not install an HTTP server.
Of course one might also wonder why you are, just now, installing software so old it is in desupport.

  • Agent Configuration Assistant hangs

    Hello All,
I am installing the OEM agent (10.2.0.1) on an AIX 5.3 server. After I run the root.sh, it starts to run the Agent Configuration Assistant. At this point it just hangs for hours.
I have installed other 10.2.0.1 agents on other AIX 5.3 servers with no issues and the it completes relatively quickly.
Any ideas as to how to resolve this installation/configuration hang?
    Thanks,
    Reid

  • Agent Configuration assistant failed while 9i installation

Hi I have been installing 9i on my system....everything was fine until I reached the Configuration Tools wizard.
Under this all the tools succeeded in installing except : Agent Configuration assistant, it failed and when I looked into the details it says:
    Parameter "orahome" = C:\oracle\ora92
    Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
    Agent Service Failed
Can anyone help me I am stuck at this point..
    Thank you

Unfortunately there's a whole bunch of possible reasons, read this note on metalink:

  • "Agent Configuration Assistant Failed" during oracle 9i installation on xp

    Hi All,
I tried to install Oracle 9i on windows XP. Except the the agent, everything else is successfully installed. Can somebody guide me in fixing the below problem?
    Parameter "orahome" = D:\oracle\ora92
    Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
    Agent Service Failed
Any help in this issue is greatly appreciated.

Lets start with the basics. There is no such thing as Oracle 9i.
Yes I know Oracle years ago used it as a marketing label but to help you we need the exact version to 3 decimal places.
Either way the version you are just now installing is so old it will be unsupported? Why are you installing Neolithic software?
And finally ... What agent? What agent configuration? What does an agent have to do with a 9i installation on XP?
The more specific you are, and the clearer your description, the more likely you will get help. Though why you are installing something so old escapes me at the moment. <g>

Where can i find that listener log file ?Zoltan gave you the specific, one-time answer.
    The generalized, learn-to-self-help answer is:
Use your os's search utility to fiind any file you want. In the case of Linux, that utility is called 'find'. Instructions on how to use it are all over the net, and the official documentation for all Linux utilties installed on your system can be read by using the 'man' command (ie: 'man find').
To tie the general to the specific, you would use
find / -name listener.log  Or, faster and fewer error messages
    find $ORACLE_HOME -name listener.log

I can post more if necessary, I just don't know what else might be needed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

What does the ERROR REPORT file have in it?
Also, while it seems an obvious question, but did you specifically download and install the Oracle Client for Windows Itanium 64-bit, and not the 32 bit version?
