Failure of Apple iTunes 9.2 Program functions

I am having similar problems described by many here and elsewhere in forums
Since installing the latest iTunes 9.2 I am unable to synchronize either my iPod Touch or iPad. I have trird to uninstall iTunes as advized and the Apple Mobile Support Device witll NOT uninstall and so the problem persists.
This IS an Apple iTunes problem - not hardware and not Windows related
This has now been going on for the best part of 10 days and it is time we saw a new version of iTunes or an Apple Uninstaller to correct the problem
It is unacceptable nnot to provide a functional program to allow synchronization

"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.Resources\en.lproj. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator"
That sort of message usually indicates file/disk damage, csusan.
First we'll try running a chkdsk over your C drive. There's instructions and a guided help in the following Microsoft document. (Select both *Automatically fix file system errors* and *Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.)*
[How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265]
The chkdsk should take a long time to complete. Does it find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an iTunes install to go through properly afterwards?
If not, do you still get the same message (citing the same file path) when you go to install iTunes?

  • Apple TV purchased TV programs wont sync to iTunes

    Hi all,
Got a frustrating problem. I just bought 2 TV series on my ATV. My Mac was not usable for a few days as we had visitors and I was demoing the ATV.
later I tried to sync the purchased program to iTunes, and nothing happened. Got the usual syncing message in iTunes, but the programs were not copied.
Tried again using the transfer purchased items from Apple TV menu item, same results. powered down and rebooted both the ATV and computer, still no joy.
Next tried to report a problem via iTunes store, got the standard "Im XXX and here to help you but I have no idea" email.
Anyone got a solution (maybe manually transferring the files from the ATV HD??? or a way to transfer things over. Im worried about loosing the fils on the next resync/software update.
    Thanks

Ive solved this problem for myself. As my ATV is out of warranty, I removed the HD and copied the contents to a spare drive.
I tried to load a single episode into itunes, it worked ok. I then noticed that although I had plenty of disc space free, I only had about 11Gb free, so I moved my itunes library to another disc where I had several hundred free. When I restarted iTunes, the TV programs started to copy across normally, so I guess it was a disc space issue?
anyway, I then reinitialised the ATV back to factory spec and upgraded again to a clean sysem and all files re-synched normally.
Anyone else with this problem should check the free disc space first.

How do I fix "apple mobile device" failure when reinstalling itunes on my PC?

    Hey chadnh11,
It sounds to me like you uninstalled then attempted to reinstall iTunes to troubleshoot the issue you were encountering? First, I would try the steps in here:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
If you end up getting to the point where you remove and reinstall iTunes, make sure you follow all of the steps in this link:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

  • Help - iTunes V4.8 'Program Error' at end of install.

Please can anyone help with this CD installation failure of itunes only (without ipod connected):
The installation of quicktime seems ok then iTunes, but on completion a window opens stating 'Program error, iTunes will close.. an error log was created'. No associated error number is displayed and I can't find the error log. At the same time the folder System32 opens. The Installation wizard says everything worked ok but if I then run iTunes the same 'program error..' window appears.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi BB!
hmmmm. that's an unusual sort of error message.
let's first try taking any CD-drive complications out of the loop. download and save to your hard drive a fresh copy of the itunes installer from the apple website. (we'll run the install from there rather than on-line.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
try switching off all background applications prior to the install too (if possible, disconnect from the internet first):
    http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108377
do you still get the same error then?
    keep us posted.

While having a perfectly running iTunes and all programs associated, I was notified of the iTunes 10.4 upgrade. After following typical directions, I have had nothing but trouble. First “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 5)” occurred. Following directions found at https://discussions.apple.com/message/15087646#15087646, I now get the following “iTunes.exe - System Error The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is still missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”, Along with “iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)” I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on HP TouchSmart tx2-1275dx. I was one week away from buying an iPad but not if this is what I have to deal with. Please help

I actually managed to resolve this on my own by downloading iTunes from the Apple website and reinstalling iTunes that way. Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ That should fix your problem. Good luck!

  • Apple iTunes Store vanishing in iTunes 9.1.1 in Windows 7 (64bit)

I have iTunes 9.1.1 installed and everything is fine except when I try to access "iTunes Store" I get "Accessing iTunes Store" (with the stripey progress bar) then it fleetingly (for a fraction of a second) displays thee Apple iTunes Store, but then the screen goes blank, ie the display goes blank.
It doesn't matter which tab (home, Music, Films, etc) or option (eg Podcasts/Technology) I try the same thing happens.
I have tried upgrading to iTunes 10.2.2 for Windows 7 64 bit but it keeps freezing on me so I reverted back to 9.1.1 which does everything I need (eg sync with AppleTV) except browse the iTunes Store.
I ran the Diagnosics for network connection and got this..........

There is a browse feature, but i cannot find an alternative source file- C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\ It was looking for a file called iTunes64.msi"
The iTunes64.msi is the installer package. You manually downloaded the standalone installation. Did you try and manually install it, yet?
    Run the installation package itself.

  • I am trying to download latest Apple Itunes update to my Toshiba laptop and got the following system error message:  APSDaemon.exe

While trying to download the latest Apple Itunes update to my Toshiba laptop I got the following
    message: APSDaemon.exe system error.
I uninstalled Itunes and tried again, but got the same message.
    Help, please

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

In the case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
    1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"
    3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.
    5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.
    Good Luck

On one of our Mac's after each startup of iTunes a file is generated in /Users/Name/Library/Preferences
    File names are like:

    com.apple.iTunes.plist.lx6pQwr
    com.apple.iTunes.plist.0YWqm3c
    File size is zero (0)
How can I stop iTunes 10.1.2 doing this as the files seem to have no function ?
    thx

    Hi,
as the files seem to have no function ?
Those files are there for a reason. They contain all your iTunes preferences. Do not delete them. Open iTunes then from the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferneces.
If you are trying to free up disk space, there's a better way to do that.
