Failure report

Ok, so I've had this problem in a while now. Here's the deal: When i try to open iTunes (on Windows XP Pro) it says something about sending a failure report. I've tried to re-install it many times, but it still won't open.
Does anyone have any idea on what to do?
Thanks in advance.

Is there an error report number? If so, that is important and you should repost with the number.
On the other hand, primarily with these kinds of things, it's because Quicktime is malfunctioning. Download the QT standalone to replace your current one here:

Hope this helped. If not, post back

    Hi,
    Is there any error message when you run Application Failure Analysis report for the specific application?
    Does this application have any failure alerts?
    You may also look into operation manager even logs to check is there any errors or warnings.

  • Failure Report Generation

    Dear All,
              There is a sales process chain that runs daily that is scheduled to pull data from Oracle directly to BW. Due to wrong Billing document the pull fails at times. How is it possible to generate a mail or a failure report of data pull activity and send it to concerned party when the process chain fails? I have heard of a certain IT mail. Kindly share any info or docs on possible solution.

  • Delivery failure report for mail

    Hi,
    I have two queries on mails
    While sending mail to single/multiple users,
    1. Is it possible to get the delivery failure report for the unsent mails and the user to whom it was not posted?
    2.Can the sent mail be posted to the sender's sent mailbox.
    Thanks
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
    1) If you set up an account for xMII on your mail server, then you should be able to use the "Read Mail" action to monitor that account's inbox for any delivery failure reports. You should then be able to parse the format of the message (which depends on your mail server) and retrieve the email address.
    2)  I don't think this can be done because it's something that your email client (e.g. Outlook) normally takes care of and is not supported in the SMTP protocol to my knowledge.
    Hope this helps

  • Application Crashes on Startup: Need Help w/Failure Report

    Adobe Illustrator CS started crashing on application startup. All other apps seem to function normally. The mac OS (10.4.11) generates a failure report, a copy of which can be downloaded at the link below (36kb .pdf file). I was hoping somebody could make sense of the report for me. This is a G4 ppc mac.
    In the fifth line in the report the word MacOSClassic appears. Any relevance to my problem?

  • RAID Failure Reported

    My Arch Linux system is reporting a failure when I login via Gnome. The system has the RAID partitions:
    md0 = swap
    md1 = /boot
    md2 = /
    When I login via Gnome, the system alerts me with a serious looking warning that one of two disks has multiple bad sectors on it. I fired up a terminal window and can't see what the issue is:
    Personalities : [raid1]
    md2 : active raid1 sda3[0] sdb3[1]
    974365187 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
    md1 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[1]
    393472 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    md0 : active raid1 sda1[0] sdb1[1]
    1999025 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
    From the info above, everything reports fine and shows both disks on each partition to be UP/UP.
    Here is the graphical disk utility reporting an error:
    http://img813.imageshack.us/i/raidq.png/

    Look at the SMART output, or use smartmontools.
    The disk probably has just a few bad sectors which it internally relocated, so the RAID arrays are still fine.  But it may be an indication that the drive is slowly dying, anyway.
    I'm in the same situation and ordered a new disk straight away.

  • Exchange generates failure report emails for Inbox items which haven't attempted to be synced

    Hello,Our ActiveSync client is reporting errors to the user when the user is sent certain types of recurrence invites. If an invite to a meeting is sent from the Outlook Web App to the user, and the user then syncs their Inbox (using our ActiveSync client and the Sync command), instead of receiving the correct email, they will get an email indicating an error:
    From: Microsoft Exchange on Behalf of *user’s name*
    Subject: Synchronization with your WinRT failed for 1 items.
    Body:
    Synchronization with your Winrt failed for 1 items.
    The following items couldn’t be sent to your mobile phone. They haven’t been deleted …
    Item Folder: Inbox
    Item Type: IPM.Schedule.Meeting.Request
    Item Created: *date*
    Item Subject: *subject of missing email*
    (WinRT is the name of our client currently.)
    This occurs consistently when the invite is for a recurring meeting, which occurs on the last day of a month, yearly. (Yearly on the nth day of the month)
    It also seems that after one of these error emails appears, other items start to be added in with it, although this could just be the result on my side from a lot of testing side effects.
    There’s two strange things to note about this error.
    The Exchange server never attempts to even send the items via ActiveSync to our client, so the error does not seem to be caused by our Sync request. I’ve used Fiddler to examine the calls, and we never receive the original message in any form.
    The Windows Mail client (in Windows 8.1), which uses ActiveSync, has no problem Syncing the very same items that are causing the errors to appear. This gives the impression that something can be done to remedy the problem, but I have no idea what.Thanks
    ArchieCoder

    Hello ArchieCoder,
    This is certainly not what I would expect to see. However, I can't say with certainty that it's related to the syncing issue.
    I went back and looked at the Fiddler trace you took from the Windows Mail client. It gets the same FolderSync response. The first three folders in the response look like I expect--Calendar has ServerId 1, Contacts has ServerId 2, and Deleted Items has ServerId
    3. After that, the ServerId value jumps to 11 for the Drafts folder, so it and all of the subsequent folders have a ServerId value that is 7 higher than what I would expect to see.
    What seems especially weird to me is that the Windows Mail client proceeds to issue a Sync request for the list of CollectionIds I reported earlier, despite several of them being absent from the FolderSync response. Furthermore, it looks like the Windows
    Mail client is getting Inbox items that are identified as being in CollectionId 5:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <airsync:Sync xmlns:airsync="AirSync">
       <airsync:Collections>
          <airsync:Collection>
             <airsync:SyncKey>933450273</airsync:SyncKey>
             <airsync:CollectionId>5</airsync:CollectionId>
             <airsync:Status>1</airsync:Status>
             <airsync:Commands>
                <airsync:Add>
                   <airsync:ServerId>5:391</airsync:ServerId>
                   <airsync:ApplicationData>
                      <email:Subject>Canceled: Last day of december</email:Subject>
    I'm really at a loss for what is going on with this. How difficult would it be for you to test this with your client assuming that Inbox is CollectionId 5 instead of the 12 that is returned from the FolderSync? I am afraid we might be focusing too closely
    on this particular aspect of the issue without being sure it could be causing the real problem, so I think it would be good if you can either reproduce the failure syncing CollectionId 5 instead of 12, or show that your client fails in some other way if it
    tries to sync CollectionId 5. A Fiddler trace of the outcome of that test including both the FolderSync response and Sync request/response would be the next logical step here, I think, assuming that that is doable. Please let me know what you think.

  • Most frequent heartbeat failure report

    hello,
    I want to create a report, or a sql query that outputs the top 10 servers with heartbeat failures in the past xx days.
    is there any native report in scom that does this, or a sql query that shows this?
    thanks.

    Thank you Jonathan. Point Noted. Can you please help me understand the difference it would make, so I could modify the other queries I use..
    Regards,
    Saravanan
    That's a great question.
    The first reason is that views may implement HINT options that the software developer deems necessary to preserved the integrity of the database and safeguard against lock conditions that may occur as opposed to ad-hoc table query with no HINT options. This
    is the main reason I always use views whenever possible - it simplifies the query, because I don't need to remember to include these options in my SELECT statement.
    Another reason is, the calls made from the application use views, so I figure I should too.
    Views also sometimes simplify more complex statements joining multiple tables. This isn't necessarily the case for ManagedEntity vs vManagedEntity, but it's still a practice I apply even if the view is a "mirror" of the table.
    For example, the vManagedEntity view includes the NOLOCK HINT option. If you lookup NOLOCK HINT practices, and when to use NOLOCK, it can get a little blurry in terms of impact on database performance. I just assume use the views that the vendor created, because
    they understand where HINT's should be used better than me. Otherwise, I might be causing problems that I'm not even aware of, impacting application internal processes.
    Borrowing from a
    thread on StackOverflow:
    "A view is an abstraction layer, and it does what any good abstraction layer does, including encapsulating the database schema and protecting you from the consequences of changing internal implementation details. It's an interface."

  • External Cache Failure reported and computer won't boot

    I have a highly upgraded Digital Audio G4 (originally a single processor 533 Mhz, now a Dual 1.2 Mhz). The machine has been running through many ups and downs hangning in there for a while. Basically everything has been upgraded except the motherboard. Normally, this machine runs like a champ and I changed nothing on it when it started behaving erratically. It just sat powered off for a while.
    The latest problem ocurred out of the blue:
    After being powered completely off for some hours, when I went to boot it back up, everything came on like it normally does (fans, power light, hd's sound like they're running etc.), but it would not boot. My monitor would just go into power save mode and display nothing. When the computer does this, I cannot reset PRAM nor can I boot into Open Firmware. There are no chimes and the PRAM does nothing. My keyboard does not respond to any external stimuli, it will not boot off the original CD. No keyboard input affects the way it boots. It is as though the computer powers on but starts up nothing.
    The only thing I have been able to do to get it up and running is to hit the black PMU reset button on the motherboard. If I do this before powering on, then the machine boots up as normal. When I actually shut down and lose power to the motherboard, then later try to reboot, it goes through this process again and again - monitor goes into powersave mode, no PRAM reset abilities, nothing boots, sits powered on only, etc. If I open the case, hit the PMU button, close the case and then restart, the Mac behaves as normal... UNTIL you shut it down and try to power it up, then it goes through this process until the PMU is reset.
    First thing I did was replace the battery with a fresh new one that I have. The computer behaves exactly the same. I have tried resetting PRAM when it boots back up, have tried resetting NVRAM when it boots back up. None of this changes the behavior.
    I was at a loss with this and tried disconnecting my external devices which did not change the behavior.
    The reason I now believe it has something to do with the External Cache is as follows:
    I have two versions of Mac OSX on two different drives. In System Profiler, Panther told me nothing was unusual. All devices including RAM seem to be okay. When running System Profiler in Tiger, I found a new item in the list called "Diagnostics".
    Under Diagnostics, there was this very perculiar message: "Power On Self Test - Result FAILED, Failure Type - External Cache".
    What does this mean? Is there a way to fix this? I am sure that it's related to my problem, but what are viable solutions?
    G4 Dual 1.2 / PB 1.5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   running Tiger & Panther, 1.25 GB RAM

    I have narrowed this down to an issue with my 3rd party Gigadesigns CPU upgrade. Though it worked flawlessly for about a year and a half, it now does not like being powered off. Works fine if you leave it on, but to reboot after a power down, the PMU must be reset. PIA! But at least it works. But it fails to get past POST (Power On Startup Tests) without the PMU.
    By replacing my original 533Mhz CPU, the power off problem disappeared. Of course, that's not an optimal solution, so now I either keep the machine on all the time or it's PMU time.
    Hope this helps someone down the road...

  • 2008 Mac Pro burner failure - report "Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR - Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03"

    Problem just arose - burners working days ago - NO major changes in Mac Pro --- Attempting to burn some DVDs (data only), using the latest version of Toast v12.0 & Dragon Burn, as soon as I tell either my internal or external unit to burn, it runs a few minutes then pops up dialog box - "Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR - Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03". Blanks are new Memorex. I've restarted Mac Pro multiple times, still no burning possible. In dire need to restore capability. Most gracious thanks for ANY immediate assistance.

    There are several different incompatible media sold as writeable CDs. You MUST match the media to the abilities of your drive.
    I was flummoxed by buying 8x media when my drive was a 2x drive. I needed the other type, and there was nothing helpful in the diagnostics or the packaging that helped me understand that.
    EDIT: There is an interesting helpful feature buried in System Profiler ... (read the last two lines of the report):

  • Update failure report...FWIW

    The 4.1 update completed fine on my 64-bit system, but when I ran it ("Updates..." through Bridge, then close Bridge) on my Laptop - Toshiba Portege A605, Vista Home Premium, SP1, 32-bit system, 3-GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo U9400, I received the following messages:
    "Adobe Extension Manager Adobe CSI CS4 1.0.1
    Adobe Extension Manager CS4 2.1 failed to install"
    "Adobe Output Module 2.1 failed to install"
    "Adobe CSI CS4 1.0.1
    Services Update Failed to install"
    Tried running updates again and got the same result.
    Everything else seemed to update OK.
    I'll be working on the laptop next week so would appreciate any insights.
    THX
    On a separate note, does anyone know why "Updates" is always greyed out in Premiere Pro but available in Bridge?? This is true on both computers.

    Harm,
    It turns out that there must actually be something in the timeline before the greyed out selections will appear. Just selecting an empty timeline in a new project makes no difference:
    Registration...
    Deactivate...
    Updates...
    remain unavailable!

  • How To Restart After Reporting a Failure?

    In my packages a failing step links to a step which sends an e-mail reporting the reason for the failure using odiRef.getPrevStepLog("MESSAGE").
    The e-mail step then must itself fail to stop the package from continuing.
    This all works well, but how can I restart the package when the e-mail step is the final failing step?
    What I'd like to do is delete the e-mail step from the session record leaving the actual failing step as the final failing step and then do a restart.
    How can I do this?

    Good point.
    I setup to e-mail failure reporting step to be common to many/all processing steps in the package.
    I could make a separate e-mail step for each processing step. It doubles the size of the package, but "Oh, well".
