Failure to sync updated apps

After I upgraded to iOS 5, my iPad 2 fails to sync any updated apps that showed on iTunes.  Can someone advise the possible issues.  Thanks!

Please don't take offense to my question about are the apps selected to sync. I have helped three people that I suggested that very same thing to do because for whatever reason, after they updated, the apps were no longer selected to sync.
Is the radio button in iTunes selected for WiFi sync? If it is - turn it off and click apply. Connect the iPad to your computer an sync with the cable instead of WiFi.
Have you tried the basics like restarting the iPad maybe? Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Sync updated apps to iphone

After updating app in itunes, how do i sync them to iphone all together? In the past, I just needed to click "sync", then the updated apps would all be synced to iphone all at once.
But now under the "apps" tab in itunes, I have to click the "update" after each app one by one, this is a pain cause i have a lot of apps.
    Please help. thx!

No, I haven't yet, and I'm getting very frustrated. I like to backup and update my phone every couple of days and am really tired of dealing with this. I'm going to finally strip down both the phone and the touch because there are actually more apps synced than show up on the app manager screens (I've found some via searchlight or they've popped into places I made when I deleted another app.) I'll also really dig into this problem-- I haven't searched for anyone else having this issue lately but it does seem to be related to iTunes specifically, so I'll go poke around in that direction...

  • Iphone 5 keeps restarting while syncing, updating or pluged in

    Hello,
first of all sorry for my enlgish.. so please, be patient...  i'm having a problem with my iphone 5 that showed up after i updated to iOS 8.1.2. First i saw that after the whole night charging, battery shows that its 52% charged so i restarted and that was the start of the biggest problem.. after restart phone starts to rebooting by itsef every 2 minutes. I've tried to restore it, but that didnt helped me so i took it to apple service. They said that whey cant help it, because phone was bought not from mobile operator and they cant change it without a charge(im out of warranty). I took back, tried factory reset, but nothing changed after. But, after i restored from backup, disconnected from itunes, updated apps(everything took really long when its restarting every 2 minutes...) and when it was finnished(app uploading), phone restarted couple more times and now it works for about an hour, but when i connect it to itunes, charging, syncing, updating apps it starts all over again its rebooting every 2 minutes like before.
Is there anybody who had/having the same problem? know the solution or at least know what could be wrong with it? is that a battery, memory, something from the hardware or software problem?
    thank you for any information.

Are you using the USB cable that came with the phone?
    Is it charging when connected?
This might be a hardware issue, depending on the use of the phone the battery might be not charging anymore or damaged otherwise.

Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
If they were purchased from your husbands account, then they will have to update using that account.

  • My ipod touch is not syncing properly. I have updated the software to the latest (2.2.1) and have even resored it. Itunes says it is working and updated but will not sync and apps. Error message says that app will not sync because a newer version needed

2.2.1 is not the latest available for any ipod touch.

Have you failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer?  not good.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You can redownload itunes purchases.  Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links
You should always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

  • Since updating to itunes 10.1.2 it tries to "re-sync" all apps to iphone

i just updated to itunes 10.1.2 a few days ago. ever since, when i plug my iphone 4 32GB (iOS 4.2.1) in to sync, itunes will try to install all the existing apps i have back onto the phone even though they are already on the phone and have not been updated. with over 1,000 apps on my iphone this obviously is time consuming (and unnecessary since a sync is only meant to copy over new or updated apps).
    here is the situation:
    1) i purchased new apps on my iphone
    2) i did not purchase any new apps on my computer and did not update any apps on my computer
    3) so the sync should only update apps FROM my phone TO the computer, not vice versa.
however, when the sync begins it will correctly start the step "transferring purchases FROM iphone", but then it will stop it before it completes (it only actually copies over 1 or 2 of the 10 or so apps i bought on the phone) and then it immediately goes into the step "syncing apps TO iphone" which i already pointed out nothing has changed or been added with regards to apps on my computer. this is when it "installs" all the apps from my computer to my phone which already exist and are up to date on my phone.
i went ahead let it do that sync overnight hoping that once it completes it wouldn't do it anymore. when i got up the next morning it was only HALF way through (again, i have over 1,000 apps on my phone). then when i unplugged it and tried to sync again it simply started back at the beginning. if it were truly syncing it would have realized it already did half of the apps and not start at the beginning the next time. so i have no doubt if i waited 16 hours for it to go all the way through, it would still just do it all over again the next time i sync. and there's no way i can be phone-less for 16 hours anyway.
this is extremely frustrating. i have had to stop the sync and restart it many many times for it to finally copy over to my computer all the apps i bought on my phone since it keep stopping that step after only doing 1 or 2 apps.
i have already tried doing a hard reset of my iphone and doing a shutdown and re-start of my computer. but this did not fix the problem.
anyone else having this issue or suggestions?

i have also now noticed that if i delete an app on my iphone, when i go to sync the process will not notify my computer that the app was deleted, instead itunes simply re-installs it back onto my phone.

  • Updated Apps won't Sync

In the past couple of weeks, I've run into an issue where my iPhone 4s and iPad 2 will indicate that there are available updates to apps on the device. This is indicated by the red badge that appears on the App Store. I open iTunes, download all available updates, and proceed to sync my iOS devices. The sync finishes without any error messages, but the updated apps don't get pushed to the iOS devices. It doesn't matter if I sync via Wi-Fi or USB, updated apps aren't being synced.
If I update the apps using the App Store app on my iPhone or iPad, the updates are installed successfully. If I delete the app from my iPhone or iPad and then sync with iTunes, the updated app is synced correctly.
All other media (music, videos, podcasts, photos) is synced as expected. I can't figure out why the updated apps aren't being applied during a sync with iTunes and it's driving me crazy. I don't want to have to use the App Store app for updates. I just want to use iTunes like I've always done.
Both devices are running iOS 5.1.1. I'm running iTunes version 10.6.3.25 on Windows 7 64bit.

I have exactly the same issue, but with the latest Apple equipment...  New iMac, Yosemite OS, and iPhone 6 Plus.  Did you ever get an answer?

  • I'm trying to update my iPhone 3G but getting message saying I'll lose my apps, etc. if I don't apply update to computer I last synced my apps to.  But I have a new computer since I last updated/synced.  What do I do?

I'm trying to update my iPhone3G but I'm getting a message saying I'll lose all my apps, music, IStore purchases, etc. if I continue on my current computer, and should apply the update to the computer on which I last synced my apps, music, etc.  However, I have a new computer since I last synced my iPhone - several months ago.  What should I do??

Copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  If you can't, see this tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

When I synced my iphone to our computer, it took on my husbands apple id account and now it asks for his password to update apps.  How do I get mine back?

Yes, you can delete them from your phone by tapping the icon until it jiggles, then tap the black x.  You can verify that your Apple ID is still correct for future purchased by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID (at the bottom).  If it's wrong, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using your ID.  Then you should be good to go.

  • Just got new ipohone 4s and used my wife's appleid to sync some apps.  i now have my own appleid. i have logged in on my iphone but when i choose to update apps my wife's appleid is still there.

just got new ipohone 4s and used my wife's appleid to sync some apps.  i now have my own appleid. i have logged in on my iphone but when i choose to update apps my wife's appleid is still there.

This is happening because there must be one or more apps on your phone that were purchased using your wife's Apple ID.  Apps and their updates are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, regardless of the ID you are currently using in Settings>Store.  The only way to stop the prompt for your wife's ID would be to delete these apps from your phone.

  • I am having trouble updating apps through iTunes, iTunes shuts down when I try to sync.

I am having trouble updating apps that I have on my iPhone through iTunes.  I go through the update then when syncing I get an error message iTunes has to shut down.  The only way I have been able to work around is to delete the app and download it again.  If I don't do this the app says waiting on my iPhone.

I just got the same message myself. Which I have only had 2 times in three years, so I checked here.

There is an issue with the iTunes Store on Apple's end, so I assume that is why we cannot connect.
