Failure to uninstall Premiere Pro CC

I have a problems with uninstalling the Aobe Premiere Pro CC from the windows 8.1.
When I try to simply uninstall the Premiere from the Windows Control Panel the error window has been displayed. There I can find a few tips which should help to solve the problem (ex. restart computer, turn off the antivirus software, firewall and try again). Unfortunately nothing helps. I have also tried to use CC Cleaner Tool, but it seems that nothing has been removed.

try reinstalling premiere cc so you can properly uninstall it via your control panel>programs>uninstall programs.
if your cc app shows premiere cc is up-to-date, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html

  • Cannot uninstall Premiere pro.

I have tried to uninstall Adobe Premiere Pro, as I need to re-install it  because something stopped working on it.
I go to my control panel, uninstall a program and chose to uninstall Premiere Pro.  It keeps telling me
    "Uninstall Failed.
    Your uninstallation encountered errors.
    Troubleshooting tips:
    1. Restart your computer (I did this a few times already).
    2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking firewall and software.(Nothing of Adobe is running)
    3. Uninstall again  (Didn't get to uninstiall in the first place.  Still won't uninstall)
You may also download and run the Cleaner Tool ( which I tried to do, it STILL won't uninstall). If the problem still persists, contact customer support for further assistance."
I have tried to contact customer support, but it won't let me get in contact with a person! It takes me here, to the forums.
Can someone PLEASE help me figure out how to uninstall this!

  • Uninstalling Premiere Pro CS6

So, I don't remember exactly why, but I deleted the Premiere Pro CS6 folder and emptied my trash. I am on a Mac, and was wondering how do I go about uninstalling Premiere because the uninstallation program was in the CS6 folder. Also, creative cloud says it's up to date so there's no way I can reinstall it yet. Please help a brother out.

If you are on a MAC (one of the newer OS) it is kind of in a weird spot>>>  go to your Applications folder > Utilities > Adobe Installers and you should find all the "uninstallers" there... just click on what you need, but if you are uninstalling Premiere Pro CS6 (and do NOT want to uninstall ENCORE) remember to DE-select it from the uninstall list!

  • Can't Uninstall Premiere Pro CS4 from Trial-Missing Uninstall file

I was using the Premiere Pro CS4 (CS5 XP compatibility pack) as a free trial on my Windows XP computer. Since my trial period is over, I want to uninstall it. Unfortunately, something seems to be wrong. When I click on "Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4, 32-bit support for CS5" in my Add or Remove programs list, it says "An error has occured while trying to remove Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4, 32-bit support for CS5. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4, 32-bit support for CS5 from the program list?"
I click No, because going into my Programs Folder, I see that nothing has been removed. I tried using the Clean Up script, choosing CS4 and later CS5, but the clean up program's box said no sessions were found.
After, I looked in the Adobe Premiere folder itself for an uninstall program, but found none.
I cannot even start the program anymore. Starting it, a dialogue box pops up saying
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
This product has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched.
If you continue to see this message after restarting your computer, please contact either your IT administrator or Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of the screen.
    Error: 3
As far as I can tell, technical support doesn't come with a free trial, and my trial is expired anyway.
How can I get this program off of my computer now that I cannot use it?

It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4, 32-bit support for CS5 from the program list?"I click No, because going into my Programs Folder, I see that nothing has been removed
    ===========
This is the part I suggested you click YES...instead of NO... to see if removing the support then allows you to remove the whole program.. kinda a 2 step process...dont know if it will work or not.
You can call adobe support and explain the problem and they might be able to walk you through some process that works okay.. I would try that even though it may take some time to go through it.
I don't see how trying to reinstall could hurt you but I kinda doubt it will work...but why not try it??
Sorry, but I can't think of anything else ... except messing around with the "install / remove " programs stuff as mentioned above...

  • Trying to Uninstall Premiere Pro

    Hello,
I recently purchaced adobe CC, and I just uninstalled all of my old CS6 products. I uninstalled everything, but in the Adobe CC app, I see this: (That "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Family" still shows up in my installed Adobe apps)
What can I do to get rid of this?

  • Uninstalling Premiere Pro CC on a Mac

I think I messed up big. Premiere Pro CC wasn't running properly on my Mac, so I was going to try to uninstall it. I dragged the Premiere Pro CC folder from the Applications window to the trash bin and trashed it and now the Creative Cloud software doesn't recognize that it is not there, it assumes it is. I can't re-install it. Help please! Deadline is looming!

Firstly I'm assuming that you've tried to reinstate from the trash can but emptied it before you realised.
If so then try this, it's not a perfect solution but it might get you out of a hole in the short term.
On the same page as above, change to Pr CS6 just below where it says "In this version" then download CS6.  That might be enough to get your project done.
Last resort if you have Time Machine running you can reinstate to a time before you removed Pr CC.
Absolute desparation attempt as a short-term fix: I'm affraid you might have to try a clean install of CC - so you'll need to remove that and all other CC apps and start again.  Have a look on the CC forum because there's some stuff about a fresh install there, I'll post on here if I find it whilst you're trying the other stuff.
    Good luck

  • Unable to uninstall Premiere Pro 1.5 Tryout

    Hi people,
I recently downloaded and installed the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Tryout version from the net. However, when I try to uninstall the program after the trial period is over, the system require from me a set of serial number (which I don't remember having). As such I was not able to uninstall the Tryout and I do want to uninstall it, anybody is able to help me out here?
    Many thanks in advance =)

What Web site did you download PrPro 1.5 from? That is what, an 8 year-old program? PrPro is now up to CS5.
I would not be surprised that something that old would not work, especially with current OS's. I'd guess that it was designed for Windows ME and NT 4.
Also, if you could get this ancient program to install, you would be very hard pressed to ever find it available, should you like it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • After uninstalling Premiere Pro CC 2013, my mpeg files flicker on export

I am using the latest Mac book pro with all the top specs. I was using premiere Pro CC 2013 and everything was fine. Once I installed the Premiere Pro CC 2014, everything was great also. My Hard drive is only 500GB so free some space, I thought I'd uninstall Premiere CC 2013 along with all the other adobe 2013 apps. What I noticed was that after export, my mpeg files which were filmed on tape with my canon HDV camera XHA1, The footage wood flicker or sometimes dip to black after export. I moved the same project across to my PC and exported it and it was fine no flicker or dipping to black. If you'd like me to upload the footage, please give some guidance as to how I should do that. Thank you

Go to HD/Library/Quictime and delete all .component files. It appears that the correct procedure is to delete all QT components and everything so far works. I have to do this every time I run after effects or Premiere Pro, and remember to put them back in again after shutting down software. Any ideas why this is happening folks?

  • Cannot uninstall Premiere Pro CC after system restore

I uninstalled Premeire Pro CC last week. Shortly after, my computer had a bug that wouldn't allow me to restart without restoring myPC to an earlier point. This re-installed Premeire, but now I can't uninstall it. I get this message: Uninstall failed. Your uninstallation encountered errors.(No error number is given.)
Running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion g series laptop.
I never use this program and it's slowing down my computer. Tips?

Run the cleaner script, reinstall and then uninstall. Won't fix your problem, though. Programs that are not launched do not consume any processing power or memory. Your slowdown has another cause, which could by all means be the mess that triggered the system restore in teh first place - flakey drivers, incompatible apps, misbehaving security tools or simple lack of overall "juice" on your system.

  • Cannot uninstall Premiere Pro 2.0

I use a Windows Vista and I downloaded Premier 2.0 when I saw that it was free. (Thank you very much Adobe) I downloaded the files and installed it, but when I went to start up the program I get an error message that says, "Registration information is invalid. Please reinstall Adobe Premier Pro." So, I thought I would uninstall it and try re-installing it to try and re-enter the serial number again, but when I try to uninstall the program I keep getting an error message that says the process has been interrupted.
I do not know what to do.

  • Reinstalling CS6 Premiere Pro after Uninstalling

I recently purchased and signed up for Creative Cloud. There were issues using Dynamic Link to access Encore. • CAN'T DOWNLOAD PREMIERE PRO:  it says there was an error loading the app.  anyone?

I was downloading the AE update. I had AE open. it told me to close AE. I did. It then said, "finishing downloading".  The new AE version never did download. Instead when I go to my adobe apps it says 'error loading", then offers me the chance to "retry" but when I click that, nothing happens.  The reason I needed the latest update of AE is b/c I couldn't do any roundtripping between Pr Pro and After Effects, so I decided to uninstall Premiere Pro and reinstall it to see if it would solve the problem.
Now I can't access pr pro and the AE update!!  Argh.
    Help!

I use Adobe ProTools for off line installers.
You can get everything there. Programs, updates. It takes a bit of learning with how to utilize the resources properly, but all the instructions are there and if you are able to follow it works well.
One reason I use that rather then the Creative Cloud update app is because my machine is offline.
Second reason i use I use it is because of update errors such as you have found. I spent more time with trying to get CC to update then it was worth and found with Adobe ProTools things worked for me so much better.
If you get frustrated with that update error and failure, there is another method, just takes a little learning to make it work.

  • CC wont let me re-download premiere pro CS6! HELP!!

    Hello all,
So i previously had all of the CS6 Family installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Adobe Encore and it wouldnt open so i uninstalled Premiere Pro and Encore CS6.
After un-installing i restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud.
When looking in the find new apps section to re-download Premiere Pro CS6 i could not find it. I filtered the search and selected previous versions but the only apps it says it has in previous versions in are Bridge, Edge Animate and Gaming SDK.
I checked in the my apps section to double check it was definitely un-installed. I can see Premiere Pro CC but CS6 is not showing up anywhere!
Ive tried looking for other links on the adobe website but it just gives me the option to buy a subscription (which i have already payed for) or download the trial.
Ive looked endlessly on forums for a solution but no joy so far.
I desperately need to get to the bottom of this as i need Adobe Encore for work.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    Hi,
Please uninstall your creative cloud desktop app and re-download it from the below link:-

and then follow the same steps that you have been following.
    Hope that works for you.

i've been using Premiere Pro for about a year and a half with no trouble, no crashes that i can remember.   I updated to 5.0.4 when it came out and experienced no problems.
I have not made any changes to my system (drivers, programs, etc.) since the last time i worked with Premiere Pro with no trouble.  The only  difference is that i generated approx. 52GB of new video files (mov. uncompressed 32bit 640x480 resolution) that i was beginning to edit in to a music video.
My current problem is:: there is absolutely no playback of video in 5.0.4.   not in the tiny project window preview,  not in the source preview, and not in the timeline/canvas window.   when i push PLAY, the button turns into a square STOP button, but nothing happens.   this is independent of project or file type.  The project i was working on when playback stopped is using uncompressed 640x480 32bit Quicktime files and one 44khz/16bit .AIFF file.   as a quick doublecheck, I just added a 640x480 Apple Intermediate Codec file and it also will not play back.   I opened older projects and none of them will playback.
My problem started while i was working on a project.  I was working on the project for probably an hour and a half with no trouble.  Then it seemed to get a bit sluggish and i could hear the HD churning a little more.   After rendering out a short section (just under 10 seconds), PPro did not play back the just rendered (now greenline) section.  Immediate playback of rendered material was the default behavior, and this was the first time ever that the just rendered section did not play back.   I then discovered that no video would play back at all--in any of the windows.   I can scrub through all the video without any trouble--all the frames are there.
I shut down PPro, & restarted.  No change.   I restarted my computer.  No change.
Realizing that the problem was likely related to a lack of space on my data drive,  i deleted approx. 500GB of files off my 2 TB drive, leaving just under a 1/3 of it free.  i checked the drive for errors, and defragmented it.  Premiere Pro still wouldn't play any file from any project.
The files are fine, they will playback anywhere else (several different file types involved in different projects).  The files are compatible with Premiere Pro (uncompressed VGA resolution Quicktime .mov), i was editing on the timeline with them for hours before all video playback stopped.   All other Adobe programs  (After Effects, Photoshop work fine).
I tried to find an answer/solution on these forums, unsuccessfully.   After uninstalling PPro and reinstall (did not help), and entire Suite uninstall, Adobe Clean, and reinstall,  neither version 5.0.0 or 5.0.4 will play video --the no playback problem has persisted.
I was running out of HD space --i had less room than i thought -- down to about 7% of free space, a bone-headed move on my part.  I'm not  surprised that playback performance got compromised due to lack of space.   But i'm shocked that the problem is persisting.   Fortunately, i had just backed up my entire system the day before.  (i've backed up many times before and this never affected PPro performance)
i tried to "CLEAN" the media cache for the sequence but it had no effect  (in searching the forums, i saw somebody else have their 'crashing Premiere Pro' problem solved by hitting this button).  I just took a look in the user/application support/adobe/common/5.0 to look at the "Media Cache" folder and the "Media Cache Files" folder.   Neither of them are empty, even after hitting the CLEAN cache button in the main preferences 'Media' settings window.   I don't know if this is the correct behavior or not.   (i'd expect a "clean" command to empty the folder, but i'm not the programmer)
This does not appear to be the ATI/5.0 problem that so many Mac users suffered (i was lucky to never have that problem).    Again, i've never had any problems with Premiere Pro over the last year and a half, until working on this latest project with the Hard Drive very low on space.   I'm 99.9% positive that's at the heart of the issue.
I don't understand why a clean reinstall did not help in this regard.  The problem is clearly PPro specific.   I found one topic in the forum where someone else experienced this same "no video playback" problem, but there was never follow-up from the user saying whether or not his problem was solved (or what was done to correct the problem).
I'd love to get some help--- seems to be a very rare issue, but right now, i can do no video editing.  btw,  i started a new project as well and imported a .mov file -- same problem, no video playback.
the weird thing is that i can actually still edit video.  i just rearranged my timeline assets and rendered out a minute-long quicktime (Apple Intermediate Codec) .mov and it looks and plays as it should.    This is really weird.  I'm baffled -- there must be some way to fix this.   I don't want to have to go back to Final Cut,  certainly not when i've already paid for Create Suite 5 Production Premium and EVERYTHING works except for video playback in PrPro.
thanks in advance for your help

hello.   hey, thanks very much for writing back.  i got some good info with a search or two.  (info about what regedit is and what corresponds to it in OS X -- regedit allows you to edit "preference" keys for individual programs,  OSX's equivalent for these keys are the .plists in User & System: Preferences and Application Support)
what i ended up doing was uninstalling Premiere Pro (not the suite, just PPro).   Then i deleted a few preference files:
    from User /Preferences/Adobe:
    com.adobe.AdobePremierePro.plist
    com.Adobe.Premiere Pro.5.0.plist
    and from System Preferences:
the file:  Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs
    and..
    /.../Premiere Pro/5.0/...
AMEPrefs.xml     (i noticed that there's also a preference file in Media Encoder's own folder so i didn't sweat this one)
    Debug Database.txt
    Placeholder Preset.epr
    PostEncodeCmds.pref
    PresetCache.xml
    Trace Database.txt
    NOTE:
of course i don't know if deleting any files beyond the 2 .plist files in User Prefs was necessary, but...  it seems to have worked.
I then reinstalled Premiere Pro CS5, and fired up an old project and i've got playback of HD and DV files, and snappy editing and rendering,  so hopefully i'm good to go.   I'm just going to stick with v5.0.0 because i actually don't remember ever having any trouble with it, and i don't remember v5.0.4 adding anything i was 'missing' or 'needed'
hopefully, this thread will be useful for any future folks that run into trouble - and it's got a solution for both Windows and OS X
    happy editing,
    peace

  • DSLR footage no longer recognized? Adobe Premiere Pro 8.2.0, OSX 10.10.2

A few months ago I upgraded my mac to Yosemite, and around the same time updated Premiere.
Premiere CC 2014 Now has major issues with DSLR footage.
First, I was able to get some DSLR footage in, but whenever I scrubbed through it in the timeline or source monitor the image would freeze, then the software would lock up.
The footage worked fine on a PC running the latest version of Premiere, and there was nothing unusual about this footage - .MOV, .h263, same type of material I usually work with,
I tried opening several other projects (mainly non-DSLR footage, but .MOVs exported from other sources) and CC 2014 works fine with that, so I think it's just something specific to that footage.
TODAY I try bringing some different DSLR footage in to Premiere CS 2014 and it won't even turn up in Media Browser. I try to drag the .MOV file in, and I get an error that the file isn't recognized. I tried dragging one of the files to my internal drive, same problem.
I still have 7.2.2 installed (last full release of Adobe CC before it was relabeled 2014). That takes the footage fine in Media Browser, and scrubs through it like I'd expect.
What's going on? Is it Yosemite? Is it Premiere 8.2.0? Did Adobe suddenly drop native support for DSLR files and now expect us to transcode everything??
    Please help.
    -Brian

Yes, I am not sure why Vinay's response was a PM. Agreed it would have been helpful to post publicly.  All I did was uninstall Premiere Pro CC 2014, clicked yes for the option to remove preferences also, then immediately re-install.
    Here is Vinay's message:
    Hi Brian,
We have noticed this issue recently on 10.10.2 and we are trying to find the possible cause and as per my information this issue might arise due to licensing issues. So, might be in the OS upgrade process the licensing files are corrupted but right now I cannot comment on it. Please follow the step of Clean un-installation of Adobe products and the re-install them again.
Please uninstall all the Adobe applications manually from Applications folder one by one. Once done go to below locations and delete the specific files.
~ Files / Folders ~ Click on Go menu in finder and select Go to Folders option to type these location and click go to Navigate
    /tmp
    /Applications/Adobe*
/Applications/.AdobePatchFiles (hidden, use Go > Go to Folder command)
    /Applications/Utilities/Adobe*
    /[startup disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe*
    /[startup disk]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe*
    /Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe*

    /Users/[user]/Library/Caches/com.adobe*
    /Users/[user]/Library/Preferences/Adobe*
    /Users/[user]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe*
Once the locations are cleaned. Please re-install Premier Pro CC 2014 only to check if it works fine. Once checked you can install all the applications again.
Please PM me once it is resolved.
