Failure to use and upgrade MSN

I tried to use MSN but a box popped up saying there's an upgrade without which I simply can't run MSN. So I followed the instructions. Finally it said it had sent an email to my account and I must click on a link in the email in order to activate the new MSN. But there was no emal in my Inbox at all. (I tried three times) Then I tried to use MSN anyway but of course it simply doesn't work.
Well, what can I do to use MSN again?

Well, I trashed the Microsoft Messenger:mac and downloaded the latest version from mactopia. It is clear that the email address above the words "sign in" are identical to the one Microsoft says it will send an email to. When I almost signed in this message appeared:

That's strange. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is changing your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Also have you tried uninstalling & re-installing flash? If you need help un-installing Flash see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. You also could try safe mode. Apple ID's can be used for anything, a single ID can be used for all your accounts (ie iCloud, iTunes, MAS, Apple community etc), ideally this would be the way forward. So far as iTunes goes you need to continue to use the same ID as you have always used or you will lose access to your previous purchases and your iTunes match subscription.
If you are using a second ID for iCloud, you can continue to do so or use the ID you use for iTunes, but if you choose the later you will need to move all your calendar, contact etc data to the account using the ID you use for iTunes.
When (if) you change which account you use you would delete the account on an iOS device and log back in with the correct details, on a mac you would sign out in the iCloud system preference pane.

I am not one to give up. So I called AT&T today. Now they are telling me they canceled my order because they were unable to fulfill my order. Basically, AT&T told me they sold out so they canceled my order so I can proceed to reorder again. It took them 4 days to realize this. I will be lucky if I get a new phone by Christmas. I am sure they will find a way to cancel my order again.
Again, I argued, how is this my fault. I placed my order at the store around 11 a.m. Pacific time. My friend ordered his phone online sometime after me. He got his but my order was canceled. AT&T tried to explain to me that they sold over 600,000 phones, almost 500 per minute during there peak. Again, I asked, how this was my fault.
I can understand over selling the phone. It is a great product. There is no reason to cancel my order. You adjust my order and tell me you will let me know when my phone will be in. I would have been mad that my phone was going to be late but I would have survived. At least I would be getting one.
At this point, I have no order and AT&T or Apple website will allow me to order one. I just want to get in the QUEUE for one.
Frustrated.

All iPhones sold in Japan are sold carrier locked and cannot be officially unlocked by the carrier. If you unlocked it, it was by unauthorized means (hacked), and support cannot be given to you in this forum.
Hacked iPhones are subject to countermeasures by Apple, particularly when updating the firmware. It is likely permanently re-locked or permanently disabled.

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

I'm using 10.6.8 and upgraded facetime to 1.0.4 and now it won't work 1

Facetime kept saying it was connecting then hanging up so I looked to see if there was an update from my version and there was. I upgraded to 1.0.4 and now it says "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
I have sent in a request 5 days ago and still heard nothing. Anyone else able to fix this?

If you've used the old version of Facetime on your Mac just open AppStore and it'll show up as a free update. Click on "Update", wait for the ~18 MB download to complete and install … and you're good to go.
I'm also using Facetime on an iPad, which was still running iOS v5.x … and lo and behold, Facetime stopped working there too: it just wouldn't connect anymore. Tried and tried again, no dice. So, a couple of days ago, I finally had to bite the bullet and upgrade to iOS 7.1.1 … the latest release, which I didn't really wanted to do (mostly due to esthetical reasons/bad GUI design). Anyway, Facetime issues were fixed by upgrading to iOS 7.1.1 … provided, the other participant in a chat is also running the latest iOS on his device.
Today, Apple finally announced that there will be no seperate fix for Facetime on iOS devices still running older versions, e.g. iOS 5.x/6.x. The Facetime troubles with older iOS versions are said to be due to an outdated security certificate (AFAIK it's true). The only way for users to fix this is by upgrading to the latest version of iOS for any given device (note, that it can be a version 6.x for older iPhones, iPads and iPods, but will still fix Facetime issues by installing a new and valid security certificate). What bugs me most, is the fact that now I'll also have to update iTunes to the abysmal version 11.x in order to regain the ability to sync my iPhone/iPad with my Macs. I really hate iTunes 11 because the interface just plain *****, unless you like to play hide-and-seek with GUI items!
The next big no-go (and a good reason to throw out Apple products after 25 years) is the fact, that Mavericks no longer lets me locally sync my Macs with my iOS devices (via cable or WiFi). Because Apple decided to remove local SyncServices I'd be forced to move all my stuff through friggin' iCloud, courtesy of ******* NSA!

If you were told they would refund the price for the iCloud storage - Contact AppleCare and ask to speak with a senior advisor. Have the case number for the promised refund available.
If you are trying to update your device, but you don't have sufficient space to download and install the update, you need to delete content from your device. Buying storage in iCloud does not add space to the device which is what you need.
You can always update using a computer with iTunes installed - this method is faster, and will allow you to make a backup on the local computer (Local backups restore faster than iCloud backups).

Thank you for the answers so far, but I'll make one correction: I said earlier that the Boston Globe website, boston.com, does not have a mobile site, and I would need to visit their regular website on my iPhone. Actually, I just found out that boston.com has a mobile site, so I'd obviously use that instead of the regular site. By doing that, I'd save a ton of data (I think). Does that change your answers?
