Failure updating to firmware RV0XX-v4.0.4.02-tm-20110704-code.bin

Hello i just updated my RV042 to the firmware RV0XX-v4.0.4.02-tm-20110704-code.bin and now im having this error every time that i try to logon in the router, any idea?
404 Not Found
The requested server-side-includes filename, /usr/local/EasyAccess/www/htdocs/default.htm, does not seem to exist.
thanks

hi. i just got a new rv042 v3. it came with the 4.0.2.8 firmware so i immediately tried to update to the latest (4.0.4.2). it seemed to start ok, i got the smoked glass overlay with the sideways green barber pole, but that was the last thing that happened. it's been about an hour now and the screen still looks the same. when you updated firmware did it ever complete and display some kind of success page or go back to the web mgmt interface? if so, how long did it take? i really don't want to interrupt it if it's still running, but it seems like it should be done in an hour.
thanks,
mf

  • How can I update the firmware all at once

I'm a tech support in a school, approximately our school has over 500 laptops, how can I update the firmware on all laptops at once?

Apple Configurator is the software you want - and it's free from Apple. However, I'm dubious that firmware can be updated all at once.

  • Need help - Error while updating the firmware of Muvo Slim using the recovery t

    Hi ,
While I am trying to update my Muvo slim firmware using the recovery tool it throwd up an error. And from then onwards if I am trying to power it up it won't.
If I again try to update the firmware, it throws up the error that "Unable to Write to Device: Device Time out".
I am afraid that my Muvo slim got bricked. Can you please help me in recovering the same.
PS: My PC OS is Windows XP.
    Thank & Regards

On my XP system, the last time I wanted to reload the firmware, I had to remove all of my Creative software programs,?and then revert my Windows Media Player back to 0 and then use The Recovery Tool. It is a bit of a pain, but does seem to work when you are getting errors with the firmware download.

Almost forgot. Make sure your player is fully charged or has a fresh battery before starting any firmware download.

  • Error while updating the firmware

I have X4500 running solaris 10 OS with software version 5.10. The ILOM version is 1.1.1. I tried to update the firmware but I cannot do that because I am getting an error. This is how I setup everything and I get the error mentioned below.
    C H A P T E R 1 - Flash Upgrading Your Server to Software Release 1.2
I referred to the above link to do so. But, I do not understand what is the tftpserver that I need to mention here. I get an error message saying gethostbyname() failed. I also setup tftp server on my solaris machine using the following link.
    A P P E N D I X C - Updating the Firmware
    Please, help me.

ILOM <1.1.8 was pretty flaky. 1.0 was described to me by a Sun CSE as the worst piece of software they ever released. I beg to differ, having been forced to use YP and rpc.lockd in the past but I digress ...
    o) Are you sure that you're getting the right firmware image? You want the x4500-specific images here: http://www.sun.com/servers/x64/x4500/downloads.jsp Be careful not to mix up x4100/x4200, x4100m2/x4200m2, x4600, x4500, etc. files as they are different
    o) Do a "show /SYS/MB" before updating your firmware and stash the output. Updates from 1.x versions of ILOM have a way of wiping the system serial and part numbers. If you record that info first you can repair after the fact.
    o) Do a "reset /SP" to reset the service processor before attempting the update. 1.x versions of ILOM, especially <=1.1.1, seem to upgrade more reliably when they're freshly booted
    o) Be sure that /SYS is stopped before you update ILOM
    o) You don't specify what command you're using to try to update, but I suspect that you're trying something like
    load -source tftp://some.host.domain/file.ima
given the gethostbyname error. Give it the ip address of the tftp server not the FQDN.

  • Many Ways to Update Your Firmware

The reasons for a firmware update differ from printer to printer, however the instructions listed on the website are basically the same.  Some firmware updates are required to resolve a specific issue, others enhance features but are not required.  You will often find a list for what the firmware enhances or fixes listed on your product's support website under the firmware's download link (continue reading for more information).
One method to determine if your product is up-to-date is to print a Printer Status Report or test report within the printer's setup menu which should indicate which firmware version the printer currently has.  Next, go to the printer's support website at www.support.hp.com and type in your product name to look under the drivers' section in order to see if your firmware version matches the most recent one found on the website.
I have found a very useful tool to help you find out, not only if your product is in need of a firmware update, but also it will locate the serial number, product number, your current operating system and system type as well as the warranty status.
--Automatically find HP Updates using HP Product Detection Utility (Google Chrome)--
--Automatically find HP Updates using HP Product Detection Utility (Internet Explorer)--
If you have ePrint functionality on your printer or a web-services menu within the front panel, in the ePrint settings, clicking Product Updates can quickly install the firmware, however, from a personal perspective, I would recommend ensuring the printer is connected via USB or Ethernet to avoid risk of the update being interrupted as this can cause permanent damage to the printer, rendering it useless.  This method may inform you no product updates are available so it is good practice to use my example above to be certain. Lastly, this will only work if your printer is connected to the network (Ethernet or wireless).
To update your firmware from your printer (these instructions were taken from the Officejet 6500A Plus):
"For easier use, HP recommends installing the firmware update through the product control panel instead of downloading the firmware update from this page. If your product is connected though a network (Wireless or Ethernet), you can easily and quickly install the firmware update directly through the product control panel. You must have an active Internet connection.
If you choose to download the firmware update from this page, your product must be connected through a USB connection.
Follow these steps to install the firmware update through the product control panel:
    1.  On the product control panel, touch the Right Arrow to display the second navigation screen.
    2.  Touch Setup, and then touch the Down Arrow to display the Web Services Setup Menu.
    3.  Touch Web Services Setup.
    4.  Touch the Down Arrow to select Product Updates.
    5.  Touch Check for Product Updates."
Using the downloaded version from the website will ensure a secure connection and will require a PC.  You will find, your operating system will determine the type of firmware update you receive at the website.  That is why the above suggestion may work in some instances but not all.
To update your firmware from your PC:
Initial Step: go to www.hp.com/support and select the region you live in.  Under the Drivers and Download Tab, type in the name or model number of your printer and press enter.  Next, you will need to know the operating system of your device you intend to use to install the firmware update.  Click here to discover your operating system.
Firmware Update Instructions (these instructions were taken from the LaserJet P1102w):
"*Please use a 2 meter (6 foot) USB High speed (2.0) cable.
1.Download the firmware update utility file to your desktop. Double click on the file.
    2. Select the printer(s) you want to update from the list.
    3. Click on the "Update All" or "Update One" button in the dialog window.
    4. Following the on-screen instruction to proceed the upgrade. During the printer firmware update, the printer's LEDs will begin flashing.
    5. Do NOT power cycle the printer or the PC during this process, or the printer may become unstable and/or unusable without further attention from HP. The firmware update can take several minutes to complete. Please be patient.
    6. To verify the update, a configuration page can be printed. The configuration page will display the current firmware revision in the product information section.
Notes: If the firmware was already up to date, firmware was not altered. Otherwise, the Utility will display a dialog box at the conclusion of the successful firmware download indicating the download is complete."
LaserJet utilities are different than the common smaller printers.  It is best to contact HP Support for assistance if you are not able to understand the difference by visiting the printer's business support website.  Large printers can come in such an array of setup options, from servers to software, what may apply to one setup may not apply to another yet it could contain the same printer.  If you have a commercial product, you may find additional assistance at the HP Enterprise Business Community which is an HP forum specific to those kinds of models.
I feel certain I just do not have enough bandwidth to go into even a general perspective on the different specifications of how to update the firmware of your commercial product.
To update your firmware through the EWS: Some models allow you to update the device through what is called the embedded web server (EWS).  You can access this page of your printer by setting up the printer on a network (Wireless or Ethernet connection) and typing in the established IP address of it into the address bar of a web-browser (example: http:\192.168.1.101).
Click here to view a forum post on how to update your printer through its EWS.
System Requirements:  Ultimately no additional prerequisites are needed beyond what I have explained above.  You are required to have already installed the software specific to your printer for most firmware updates though.  Once you click on the firmware update link provided at the website, you will see which operating systems it applies to, however, some updates are not needed for all operating systems.  For example, a software patch may be a critical update for a computer running XP but would have no affect on a computer with Windows 8 or Mac.
I have provided this information in order to explain a few of the techniques used to update your printer to its fullest capacity.  However, I have found through experience it is good practice to have an HP technician on the phone to assist you with this.  Sometimes the worse has happened in regards to power outages, "blips" in the network, or just bad luck and this step has caused the printer to go into a state that it cannot return from.  The terminology used to possibly revert back to a state prior to the firmware update is called "flashing the firmware" and this is only done via phone support and isn't a guaranteed fix.
I do hope you find this information useful as this is a question I have seen many times on the forums.  This is simply a summary of the many ways to update your firmware in case one of the methods above are not working.  For a more specific description, access the firmware link you are trying to update and read it carefully or click here to link to another forum post.
Click here to find an HP Support Contact in your region for further assistance.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
When a solution is found please mark the post that solves your issue.

  • Problems re-connecting my PSP to Network, after updating to firmware 1.33NA on my D-Link DIR-655

    Hi everyone,
Here is the 411 about my network

The Brand, Model, Hardware Revision of your Router and include the Firmware Version:=   Router = D-LINK DIR-655 A3 Firmware (rev.1.33NA)
The Method of connection your problem computer has to the Router: Wired or Wireless: Wireless
The Connection in use on the problem computer: Wireless g/b/a on PSP
Operating system and version and Service Pack Level, N/A      Also if any Anti-Virus Program or Spyware Program is actively protecting your computer.

Post the link to your Router Model,  http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=530
And any other information you think is important if answering your own post, and the nature of the problem, itself.
I have had a full functioning network with D-Link DIR655  hardware Rev A3 firmware rev 1.33NA,
with 5 PC's Dell XPS 730x, Alienware m17x,  Studio 1747,Studio 1749(touchscreen) Studio, 14z all using Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit, and one Macbook Pro 17", Plus a Dell mini 9 hackintosh( I did purchase  Retail10.5.4  and I placed the Apple stickers over the Dell logo.[ also have a PS#, and PSP 3000 (both have latest Sony firmware updates.]
All PC's with Win7 Pro x64,'s are connected using Network Magic Pro 5.5 pure-0, with the exception of the Macbook pro OS X 10.7 and hackintosh Mac X10.5.8  which both use the Mac version 4 network pro (Ver. for mac os x.) of which I bought a 3 pack, (To have them work with NWM 5.5 Pro, & share both files, and printers with the windows PC's)
Everything was working great until I updated the firmware on my DIR-655 from 1.2NA to 1.33NA.
Since then I have been unable to reconnect my PSP to the network. using  WPA 2 security, which is what I had before the firmware update. If it wasn't for the security additions, this firmware upgrade adds  to the router, I would have gone back to the previos version.
Here is what I've done in attempts to fix, and then my final solution.
In Network Magic 5.5, I have tried shutting off the network protection feature, and I also re-added the MAC Address, of the PSP to the Router's list of allowable hardware, when I added my list of all the others..
The PSP will start the handshake with the router, and then pause at the getting IP address screen, and finally timeout.
I is showing up on the Network Magic 5.5 Pro's Network Map area, which leads me to believe it is being seen and let in by the software's security feature.
I also tried to manually add an IP address, for the PSP, using the IP addy, it always seems to grab via DHCP [192.168.7.172] only to have it timeout the same way as it did before, with DHCP
As I needed Internet access to update the PSP and make purchases from the PSN, I decided to connect my older Linksys WRT54G (HW Ver 5) Ver.1.02.8 (I'm considering the DD-WRT firmware for all it's improvements) to the DIR-655 with a CAT 6 cable. Network magic see's this router, as I added it's MAC address to the D-Link MAC filter first.
I was able to use WPA Security with this router and the PSP connected without any problem.
I thought maybe something was wrong with the PSP-3000, but I'm able to connect to a friends Belkin router
    , using WPA 2
I setup the WRT54G using the studio 14z, as it's the lightest of my portables, with windows on it.
Should I add Network Magic 5.5 to the network that is my Router & PSP?
[I have a older thinkpad, that runs Windows XP SP3, which has just been sitting around, and my NWM 5.5
license is for 8 PC's and 3 Macintosh Computers.
    Thanks in advance.
Regards in getting my network correctly secured once again,
    DakotaJoe

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but from what I have read on the Forum and FAQ, you will need to un-install Network Magic from all of your computers making sure that no NM settings folders are left behind under users.  Then unplug all wired computers and rebuild your network by re-installing NM  in each computer before connecting it to your router.  After you have added all of your wired computers, set up your wireless network and install NM and add each wireless computer.
That is a lot of work.  I hope this helps.

  • IMac G3 won't boot after updating the firmware and upgrading the OS!

    Hi! Everyone,
I have an iMac G3 333MHz (five flavors) which comes with 192MB of RAM and 6GB of hard drive. Originally, it was OS 8.5.1 installed, later upgraded to OS 9.2.2. Of course, the firmware has been updated by the appropriate method provided by the on-screen instructions before the installation of 9.2.2. After successfully updating the firmware and installing Mac OS 9.2.2, the system booted up and worked fine. However, after shutting it down and powering it up a few days later, I have encountered a critical problem:
    1. At first, the iMac would chime and displayed a smiley-mac finder face.
    2. No question mark appeared and the system halted because it stayed at the same screen for about 5 minutes! Also, the keyboard wouldn't respond. For instance, the LED signal light wouldn't light on when Caps Lock was pressed.
    3. I assumed that this is just a typical crash and rebooted the machine via the "reset" button on the right side of the machine.
    4. After restarting, well, no luck, the same condition. Therefore, I rebooted it again by using the method mentioned above.
    5. The condition of sticking at the smiley-mac finder face occurred again! However, this time the iMac wouldn't chime and just displayed the mac face.
    6. Another restart, well, it was getting worse... no chime and no smiley-mac finder face but a white screen.
    7. I was frustrated then and shut the machine down forcefully by rebooting it again and pressing on the power bottom quickly before the screen appears. Also, I unplugged the power cord.
    ---------- After a few hours later ----------
    8. Okay, I then plugged the power cord in and booted it up again, this time, it would chime but stuck at the white screen. => No smiley-mac finder face appeared!
    9. Rebooted it again, the result was as same as step 8.
    10. Another restart, the smiley-mac face finally appeared but still... stuck here and this time, no chime.
    11. I then shut the machine forcefully by using the method mentioned above and let the machine rest for about a day with the power cord unplugged.
    ---------- After resting for a day ----------
    12. I booted it up and it would chime, but no screen (the power button was orange, not green). I then forcefully shut down the machine.
    13. Waited for about a minute and powered it up. This time, I tried to clear the PRAM, but no chime and gave me a white screen. => No luck! As mentioned, the keyboard's LED signal light wouldn't light on even though the Caps Lock key has been pressed.
*Note: The keyboard has been tested on the other computers and it worked. Also, I tried different USB ports to plug the keyboard in. => The USB ports were all in working condition, as I can know from the last successful start up.
    14. Forcefully shut the machine down and tried to enter the Open firmware, no luck. It didn't enter and gave my a white screen.
    15. Conclusion:
    1) After resting for a while, the iMac would chime.
    2) Rebooting too much times would cause the machine not to chime and leaded the screen to become white instead of the smiley-mac finder face.
    3) However, rebooted the machine when the screen became white, the smiley-mac finder face would appear again without chime.
By the way, I could hear the hard disk spinning up so that means the hard disk is working.
Can anyone help me solve this problem? Is it related to the firmware update? Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks!
    Andy

OK, I will try replacing the PRAM battery. Also, the PowerMac G3 and the other iMac 233MHz had the dead batteries. They are still working though... Should I replace them along with the iMac 333MHz? In case of not replacing, will they malfunction in future times? There are some symptoms on this two machines: 1. iMac 233MHz - No chime and no sound when adjusting system volume (the bi sound is not available), but iTunes and other applications can still use the audio device and output the sound via internal speakers; 2. PowerMac G3 450MHz - Will chime but sometimes hard to boot: 1) Chime but no screen; 2) No respond after pressing the power button => the power signal light won't light on. Every time I experienced this, I would open its case, pressing a small button (not quite understand what it does... anyway, just works if system halted.) near the PRAM battery and wait for about a minute, then close the case, and it boots. However, I have to reset "Date & Time"...

The following support article is somewhat outdated. Where it refers to booting from an installation disc, you should boot from your recovery partition (if running 10.7 or later) by holding down the key combination command-R at the chime.

  • Error trying to update PLE400 firmware

I'm having performance issues with my PLE400.
So the first thing I'm trying is to update the firmware (currently on 2.1.81).
I downloaded the file: FW_PLE400_2.1.9.ggl and when I tried to update it (Powerline AV utility ver 1.6.0.2) via my iMac I got the following message:
    Operation Failed
Selected GGL file mismatch loaded FW
I went to the Linksys site and downloaded the file again and tried again.
    Still getting the same message.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Tori

I don't have one of those devices but when you go to update the firmware does it ask for a specific file type? (Ex: *.bin, *.img)
The reason I ask is I've seen it where you need to rename the file extension to upload a firmware file but it's dangerous if you make a mistake. This would brick the device.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Trying to update iPhone firmware and it's making me download update all over again!

    Hi all,
Alright so I am trying to update the firmware on my iPhone 4 which currently has iOS 5.0.1. I plugged it in, opened iTunes, and clicked update. I went through the agree/disagree  and the "backup/don't backup" popups Then, iTunes started to download the firmware update. After two hours of download time, it finally finishes. I unplugged my iPhone to make a call, then plugged it backin to go ahead and install the update. I go to my iphone on the left hand column of iTunes, click update, go through all the same popup windows and then iTunes stars to download the entire update all over again!!! I even checked the library directory where iTunes downloads the firmware/restore files (.ipsw files) to, and notice that the original update file is still there (iPhone3,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw), and it is downloading the exact same file all over again. Why is it doing this? I don't want to have to wait another two hours!
    Thanks for any help,
    James

Try shift-clicking (windows) or option-clicking (mac) on the Check for Update button in iTunes and when prompted navigate to the .ipsw file.

  • Problem updating the Firmware on a PCI-7334

About me: I am pretty new to the Labview/NI landscape so I may be missing something here! That said im very technically aware in general and believe I understand what is going on here.
Background: This NI PCI-7334 board has been taken from currently unused project stock so current physical condition of board is not really known (ie was not recently working) although it appears to be in good physical order.
Attempting to setup a new Labview 7 Express development environment on new PC hardware with a clean build of Windows XP Pro SP1 along with 1 x IMAQ PCI-1411 and 1 x IMAQ PCI-1408.
Attempting to update the PCI-7334 with the latest firmware in NI Motion 6.1.2. I select the option "Update All Firmware Sectors" f
rom the firmware tree by right mouse clicking. It starts off with the buttonless (ie No Cancel Button) file transfer progress dialog box. But after about 30 seconds I keep getting the error "Error configuring the board for download. Please ensure that the board is in a reset state and that no other application is communicating with it."
Existing Firmware versions are listed in NiMAX as:
    68331 - 6.00.3012
    DSP - 6.00.3008
    FPGA1 - [BLANK*]
    FPGA2 - [BLANK*]
*Listed in tree without a version
Unusually under the General listing I get "0" for the device serial number!
When I go into the "Status" area and choose the "Reset Device" option I eventually get these status lights (red):
    Ready to Receive
    Power Up Reset
    Modal Error Message
    0x80 Move Complete Status
I have tried removing all other cards from the PC to ensure there is not a compatability issue.
At this stage it would appear that it is a hardware problem so I was wondering what options I have available to g
et this card repaired. Is repair by NI economically viable or is a new puchase a better approach? IE are repairs done at a fixed price or based on materials and labour?
    Please advise!
    Thanks, Rod.

I agree with your diagnostics. It looks like something went wrong during the last firmware update. The only solution for this problem is to send the board for repair.
NI has fixed prices for repairs which are much cheaper than buying a new board. Please contact your local NI branch for details.

  • How do I stop a time capsule wanting to update its firmware?

Ive updated my firmware twice and both times I've had to revert back to version 7.5.1 (the version the capsule came fitted with) as the updates have either slowed down its wireless speed or it constantly disconnected and reconnected giving me an annoying warning every couple of minutes to tell me so.  It's now flashing orange and 'reporting problems' wanting to update its firmware.  How do I prevent the time capsule from wanting to update to a version of the software that doesn't work?

This is one of those hard to find menus.. and it will still not prevent it occasionally requesting updates.. and you might have to reboot it occasionally.
Open airport utility and open the manual setup. In the spotlight box (is that what it is called), in the top right corner which has find a setting.. type updates.
A menu called options pops up.. and you can set it to forget. Check for firmware updates, uncheck.. !!

Failure with one type of optical media and not another -- even from the same manufacturer -- is not unusual. DVDs and DVD-RWs use different dies that respond to different lasers in the optical drive. There are numerous other possibllities here.
It would not be unusual if the write laser for DVDs has burned out but the DVD-RW is still working becasue they use entirely separate lasers of a different intensity and frequency.
It may be the dyes used in a particular lot of Verbatim DVDs are not quite compatible with the DVD lasers in your drive (that is independent of DVD-RWs because they use different lasers.
Because of manufacturing variations your drive may burn other brands of DVD blanks flwlessly, but just won't work with Verbatim DVD blanks.
The DVD Read/Write lasers in your drive may simply be dirty.
Changing/updating the firmware in an optical can be done, but there is a definite risk of converting the optical drive into something useful only as a paper weight.
Try another brand of DVD blank or even a different model Verbatim. (I have seen cases where discs from a different manufacturing lot from the same vendor worked when another failed.)
If you are using DVD-R blanks try a DVD+R (there again different lasers are involved.
It is tricky to clean slot loading optical drives, but sometimes simply blowing them out with short bursts of canned air will work. Be sure the computer has been powered down for a good while and the optical drive is completely cooled. Then use only short bursts of air to prevent super cooled liquid air from getting into the drive. That can easily crack the lenses if you aren't careful.
If your Mac mini is less than a year old or you have Apple Care, get an appointment and take it to the Genius Desk of the nearest Apple store. If you aren't covered under warranty a bus powered external optical drive very probably costs less than the labor charge to diagnose the issue with your drive.

  • I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra.  My IPod will not load.  Other similar IPods will load.  Someone said I need to update my firmware.  How do I do this?

I purchased a Hyundai Elantra.  My IPod will not load.  Trying my son's Ipod, that one loaded.  The cable and the automobile software do not seem to be the problem.  Someone suggested that I need to update my firmware but I do not know the steps in going about doing this.  Will someone out there list them for me.  Thank you,
    Pat
