Dear All,
I am using MSSQL SSRS 2008.
All the reports run properly when viewed via a web browser. However for subscription, I am having a strange
experience.
The subscription having intermitten failure. I need to execute multiple times to get it work.
Following is the exception I am getting:-
Failure sending mail: The user or group name 'xxxxx' is not recognized.Mail will not be resent.
Failure writing file DailyPolicyExportCDN_ST@timestamp : The user or group name 'xxxxx' is not recognized.
Following is the exception I retrieve from log files.
webserver!ReportServer_0-2!1b0c!07/31/2014-05:25:09:: e ERROR: Reporting Services error Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerHttpRuntimeClientDisconnectionException: A client has disconnected from the Report Server Web service application
domain ReportServer_MSSQLSERVER_0-2-130512716074991980. No corrective action is required. An error code has been submitted to ASP.NET to release the connection. The error code is 800708CA. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: This network connection

Any idea what went wrong?

According to your description, you can access your report successfully, but it fail to send e-mail subscription. Right?
In this scenario, since you can access the report successfully, so this user has permission on report server. Please go to E-mail setting in your Reporting Services Configuration Manager, check if the current user has permission on that SMTP server.
If this is still not working, please recreate the subscription and try again.

I have a big problem with Reporting Services 2005 working on Windows 2003 Server.
RS work as Network service, on subdomain reporting.mydomain with SSL wildcard certificate *.mydomain,
Anonymous access: disabled and basic authentication: enabled
ReportManager and reportServer has defualt virtual folders (/reporting, /reportserver)
My problem is:
1) I can't manage security roles and site settings with report maanger. when I try assign roles to new user or group I get followng error:
"The user or group name 'BUILTIN\Administrators' is not recognized. (rsUnknownUserName) Get Online Help"
when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady)
and I can't see my report in browser (IE 6.0) but only export to PDF, Excel...
other functionality are working fine i.e upload new files, creatign folders....
2) Also my reportserver virtual folder does not work correctly.
When I navigate to mydomain/reportserver I can see content of this virtual folder, than when I navigate to ReportService.soap i can see normal ReportServer view

I just wanted to know if you found a solution for part (1). I just recently encountered the problem where:

However all my reports are run from the most recent data. The rsReportNotReady message appears in Report Manager but not the Report Server interface; the latter is able to render the reports. But both have incorrectly displayed textbox inputs.

SQL 2008 R2 Reporting Services
When trying to add a group from Active Directory onto the reporting services security we get the following error
The user or group name 'groupname' is not recognized. (rsUnknownUserName)
We are able to add users from Active Directory this only fails on group.

The error “The user or group name<name> is not recognized (rsUnknowUserName)” means the Report Server cannot find the user from domain or local users or groups of Report Server. Reporting Services stored users with users’ SID. After we tyoe a username
in the username textbox, the Reporting Services will user the method “LookupAccountName” in Window API to get the users’ SID. If the API cannot get the SID of the user, Reporting Services will throw the expression “rsUnknowUserName”.

i have create a group name Finance using these steps.
my computer rightclick -> manage->create group -> add user
now i add this in reportmanager ->sitesetting -> domainname\Finance.
but getting an error..

I also tried to give permission to user those in active directory but getting the same error.

Based on the error message, it seems that you want to grant premission to a windows user or group on Report Server.
If it is domain user or group, you should add with this format: <domain>\<account>. If it is local windows user or group, you should add with this format :<servername>\<account> or just <account>.
Just as TenPart post above, please verify the account <BUILTIN> exists.

I have reinstalled Mac OSX 10.6.3 and done the updates from there.
I have reinstalled ilife 11 from disk and done the updates.
I have deleted all the suggested files and then redone install and updates.
I have tried just reinstalling iphoto and doing updates.

iOS 7 : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open control centre and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off').
So to have both mute and rotation 'off' you need to have both the switch on the side of your iPad 'off', and the icon on taskbar/control centre 'off' -

I 'Copy & Paste' from within Firefox quite often but for some reason the function has stopped working when using some sites, even the menu item 'Paste' is greyed out, yet I can open Notepad and 'Paste'. I tried pasting into 'Notepad' then copying from Notepad and pasting back into Firefox, which I've found in the past sometimes works but today even that does not work. I accept it may not actually be a Firefox problem but I have noticed since upgrading to the latest version, I am having several problems with crashing and hanging exceedingly long execution of the browser.

AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension Error - The user or gorup name is not recognized

I am currently installing AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension on one of our machine. But this always fails during the installation with this error:

Our current domain is MWSerp
An error occurred while adding users AxERP\qaproxy, AxERP\qaaos, MWSerp\qaproxy to the SQL Server Reporting Services DynamicsAXBrowser role in the folder dynamicsAX. The error is: The user or group name AxERP\qaproxy is not recognized.
The database was restored from our old Ax Deployment on a different domain - AxERP if you noticed on the error, 2 domains are present: AxERP (old domain) and MWSerp (our existing).
I find it peculiar that it is still adding old accounts from the old domain which is not existent. Tried looking for it on the registry or on the AX Dynamics User account but there are no entries on AxERP\qaaos and AxERP\qaproxy on it.
Do you have any clue on where AX Installer is picking up those information which needs to be added on the DynamicsAXBrowser? Tried stopping /starting the AOS Service and generating WCF. Also tried looking on registry but couldnt find it. How can I bypass
it so the Extension will be installed successfully. I also tried not deploying the reports, just the Extension only.

I have several subscriptins which have been working fine.
All suddenly stopped with same error - Failure writing file - The network path was not found.
The subscriptions write to a number of different network paths, all of which exist and are accessible.Is this a repeating failure or one time occurrence? If it's a one time occurrence it could have been a short network outage. If repeating look and ensure the user that the subscription is using to write the files still has the appropriate permissions,
is enabled, not locked, etc. Other things to possibly consider would be flushing the dns cache on the server. It's possible a firewall rule could have been put in place that would block the ability to access said location as well. The best
thing you can do is start by asking "what has changed". -

I'm having a bit of an odd issue. In my SCOM environment I have 8 scheduled reports that management likes to look at. 7 of them are working just fine, however one of them keeps failing with the status:
"Failure writing file <file name> : Report processing has been canceled by the user."
Now this report is running every Sunday at 2:30 AM and I can assure you I am not up administering reports at 2:30 am on a Sunday.
Except for the file name this is set up identically to one of the reports that is working fine. If I write click and "run" the report it generates, though it takes a few minutes, and I can save it as an excel file to where we want it. There's nothing
in the event log around the time it says it last ran (2:30:03 AM).

Could be conflicting with this built maintenance at 2:30am:
There is a rule in the System Center Internal Library called "Optimize Indexes". This rule runs every night at 2:30am on the RMS and calls p_OptimizeIndexes. Make sure any standard maintenance you perform on the OpsMgr DB does not interfere
with this job.

Did you look at SQL Reporting Services Logs?
As well, you can try to change the Report Execution TimeOut in Report Manager.

I merely put in the recipents email address, hit Send, and away it goes
