Faint clicking noise heard from speakers.

Hi. I recently bought a Creative X-FI Xtreme Audio soundcard and when i plugged it into my speakers, when i play a sound, be it in-game sound effects or music or movies, i hear this faint clicking sound every once in a while from the speakers, around 0-3 seconds apart, that interrupt the sound. Its ignorable, but for someone like me who cant stand tiny imperfections, it gets really annoying. I've updated to the latest driver and i am still having these issues. Is it a defecti've sound card?
The speakers are fine.

Ok, final update for anyone who comes across this thread with the same issue.
I sent it to the apple for a service who, unexpectedly, repaired it and sent it back the day it arrived!
It turns out it was a faulty camera, as that got replaced and I have had no problem since.

  • IPhone4 makes strange clicking noise *Not from speakers*

    Hello all,
Recently my iPhone 4, which is nearly a year old, started making a strange sound. The sound is a single click that comes from INSIDE thephone! (Around the silent switch and volume buttons)
    It happens when:
I press the standby button (Not every time, after a period of it not clicking)
I press the home button (Not every time, after a period of it not clicking)
I press the silent switch (Not every time, after a period of it not clicking)
When I turn the phone on
When I reset the phone (clicks twice)
Randomly when I'm not using it, sometimes a few in succession (while on standby), usually after I have pressed one of the buttons or switch, that i said above, it will click again soon after
Every time I press the standby button while the phone is off (Very weird)
I have a short time left on my 1 year warranty and intend to send it for repair, however I don't really know what to say is wrong with it....
    All advice is apreciated!

  • Satellite L300 - Power transformer makes faint clicking noise

    Hi, thanks for reading.
Recently I've noticed that when my laptop is plugged into the power supply, the transformer makes a faint clicking noise, just loud enough to be heard over a movie running at full volume but not loud enough to be heard unless you're listening for it.
The clicking is sporadic and doesn't seem to link up with what's happening on the laptop.
I've been told that it could have been an overheating problem but I've only had the laptop for a couple of months and the longest I've charged it for at one time is about 8 hours.
There doesn't seem to be any adverse effect on the computer but it's got me a bit concerned.
    Thanks for your help,
    Marlon

    Hi
I think you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. The technicians can check your notebook and the AC/DC adaptor.
For me it sounds like a hardware malfunction and should be checked from a notebook technician.
    Good luck!

Recently my mac has started making faint clicking noises just like a fan catching against something, it is only faint but loud enough to hear. any suggestions please

While it could be a cooling fan, a noise like that is usually a sign of a dying hard drive. Back up everything immediately. Make immediate backups of any new documents you create after the full backup.

But I fail to understand what capture device should I use to capture internal sound i.e. sound generated by other applications.. pls. help me out regarding this.. Can DirectSoundCapture (capture device) be used to capture such sounds or can it just capture sounds from microphone..? Pls. help me soon.. Thanks in advance :)

  • Scariest noises coming from speakers

$ I just installed 64-bit windows and when I got to the drivers for my X-Fi 5., it appeared to install just fine, but I rebooted and the scariest noise came from my speakers. The sound can only be described as digital havoc.
I'm not sure as to what to do, so if anyone can give me some help?

( I had the same problem when I first installed Windows 7 RC x64 way back in June 09, thats also when I bought my Elite Pro.
I initial fix was to remove 2gigs of ram from my system leaving me with 2gigs installed which I wasn't pleased about at all. Later I managed to find the Daniel K drivers and support pack 2.0 which fix the issue.
I now see Creative have finally released a new driver (Jan 0th release) which may fix this issue. It is sadly ?long over due as I have just sold my Elite Pro because of Creatives total lack of support .
A fix for the snap crackle pop issue and new working apps should have been available months and months ago, this left me no choice but to never trust in this company again, I will never buy another Creative product and will now be quite happy with onboard sound using SPDIF and Coax out.
Good bye Creative and good luck.
P.S Daniel k is an absolute legend and should be praised for his work. Thank you for giving help when I needed it.

  • IPhone 6 clicking noise coming from home button and also a little loose..anyone else have this issue or suggestions on how to handle it? Any and all suggestions are appreciated

It seems as if when I push my home button there is a loud click or a clicking noise that shouldn't be there.  If I push the home button in certain areas or kind of on the side it's not so bad.  Also it seems as if the button is kind of loose or wiggles a little bit and can also feel the little silver ring and seems as if it's either not on properly or the home button is sunken in pretty good.  I was at the Apple Store and checked out some display models and didn't notice it on those and they all felt solid.  Has anyone else had this issue or experienced this?  Any and all suggestions will help greatly...I just want to know if it's normal or how I should go about taking care of it...thanks!

ok...the doctor is in!....well, yes I agree with other posts concerning "clicky" crunchy touch id/home buttons...ah... we do swaps, cleanings, alcohol wipes....NO NO NO! yes dirt can and will trap inside the extreme minor spaces around the home button and the screen cutout..yes twirling a q-tip round the button only stuffs grime deeper in, but can clean the edge...in this case, that crunch you hear (new out-of-box), its a very popular notice that most do hear a crunchy glass-like snapping sound...being that the touch id does have a sensor ring on the outer side, the actual noise your hearing is ........wait for it......MISS-ALLIGNMENT!!!! yes... pop that sucker open, remove bracket....what do you see??. touch id pressed thru and adheared around the ends of the button...and also most cases, not perfectly aligned..that noise is the actual ring brushing against the screen hole cutout causing metal and glass to bind against eachother... re-seating the button will correct the issue..being that theyre so close together, the slightest miss-alignment can cause that annoying crunchy click sound. find a swap that doesn't...ok that one works but now the silent switch is loose!!!!! ive seen it all

  • Loud Beeping Noise Coming from Speakers - Virus?

    Ok,
So when I'm surfing in Safari i suddenly get beeping or actually its more of a drumming sound coming from the speakers a bit like 'dum dum dum', if i click on something on the page the noise will stop providing i don't release my finger off the mouse, once i do the noise starts again. If i close safari the noise will stop, however it randomly starts again... sometimes during the night when i've gone to sleep (with safari logged off).
Also during this stage of 'dum dum dum', if i click on anything in a menu bar the pull down appears however my chosen open which i have highlighted with arrow appears to highlight something else in the menu.
So far i've changed the mouse, can't narrow it down to a particular application. Any ideas? Virus perhaps?
By the way, i'm still trying to upload a video of the sound on youtube but its taking ages,
    Thanks in advance.

Yep, disabled that one. Sound has gone way for the moment, but now my mouse is having the same problem, when i click on a menu e.g History (in safari), move my mouse pointer to say Yesterday it highlights something else in the menu and jumps around. Very strange this.

It echo's and makes hight pitched noises when trying to play a video on You Tube and when the video is off then nothing... Pleas help.. Also I pluged in the front and the back

I had a similar problem with my Polk Audio speakers.  I got the same sort of sound when they were set to digital output.

  • Iphone making weird noise (not from speakers)?

It sounds like it's steaming. I've had problems with charging it, and the volume would go up randomly. I took it to get it looked at and they said it was a problem with the board. So basically I'd just have to buy a new phone. Today I was playing on an app and it randomly started making this weird steaming noise, and I think it was coming from the charging dock. I turned it off and the noise stopped. I haven't tried plugging it in yet. I don't know what to do. Help?

Try using some ear buds or headphones to confirm if it's coming through the audio circuit or not. Also, try logging into another User account and see if it does it there also.

  • In my macbook pro retina display 15"l there is a constant clicking noise, coming from the left side of the computer. Any ideas ?

It goes on constantly while the computer i s on, with like a 2 second delay, and to be honest it's driving me mad. I may just end up taking it in, but if I have to get it replaced I dont want to lose all my files and programs.

You should have a backup in the first place. If you don't, buy an external drive (they're inexpensive these days) and make a Time Machine or a clone backup (using Carbon Copy Cloner).
Then take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and let them diagnose the computer. See if they can isolate what may possibly be making the 'clicking' sound.

  • Strange Clicking Noise Coming from HomeHub 2

    Hi All
Ive got a 8 month old BT Home Hub 2 (Black) Type "A" I think it is.. Recently, I have noticed it starts to emit a strange frequent Clicking sound like someone tapping a metal needle on a desktop frequently or like a relay going on and off.. It doesnt reboot or anything and works quite normally..  We dont use the Hub Phone function on it at all, just use it for Vision and Broadband. it also seems to get rather hot sometimes.
Is this normal? I am slightly worried its going to blow up on me or something, esp as we leave it switched on all the time when we are not in the house.
    Any ideas?

    Hi john
Having owned several type A's, all bar one of mine would only click once when booting up. I don't recall hearing any further clicks until they were rebooted (either automatically or manually). The BBTalk side of things will always be active, regardless to not being active....
The one I owned that did multiple clicks only did this as the software failed on a reset - continually rebooting with all lights flashing on and off.
As your hub is only 8 months old, it should still be under gurantee and BT should replace it foc under warranty.
You can if you so wish, call the BT help line 08001114567 and state it keeps clicking and you are concerned.
If you're not happy to leave it on, turn it off at night*, until a replacemnet is sent.
*If it is starting to fail, it may never switch back on...
