Fair Access Policy and Ipod...I Need Help!!

I am having such trouble getting videos to download to my Ipod. I use Direcway for my internet service and they have some policy that only allows a certain amount of download time (169mg in 4hrs?) called Fair Access Policy..its a bunch of crap if you ask me..http://www.copperhead.cc/fap.htm
So anyhow..I have been trying to down load the first part of Lost for 5 days now and it gets almost to the end and I get a error code -39 and it stops everything. I don't know what else to do. I called direcway and they said to download a download messenger?? does something like this work with Ipod?
Also, I have purchased songs that are in line for download and I can't get them to download cause I can't get them past the Lost download...
I really don't know what to do..
Does anyone know how to stop the start of Lost so I can get the songs that are in line??
Thanks and I hope this wasn't to confusing..
Kathy

First you will need to install iTunes if you have not already.
Second to reset the iPod back to factory settings you will need to connect the iPod to the computer then open iTunes. In iTunes select the iPod and goto the Summary tab which should be the first one to open. Below the Check for Update button click on Restore. This will reset the iPod back to factory settings so you can start fresh.

  • ITunes and Fair Access Policy

I currently use Hughes Net for internet service as it is the only internet I can get. We are switching to AT&T for cell phone service as they are the only company with service where I live. There is no 3G service, but at least I will have cell coverage again.
To my point, with the iphones en route to me, I went ahead and downloaded iTunes. I loaded it up, and it started configuring my library and all. About 10 minutes in, I get a message saying I exceeded my Fair Access Policy usage. I knew about it, and keep a monitor on the usage, but couldn't figure out why it did this. The only thing I had running was iTunes, and I don't think I was actively downloading anything.
The only thing I could reason was that maybe iTunes was connecting to the internet to get album art I don't have in my library.
Has anyone had this problem before? Or does anyone know if iTunes is constantly running internet usage for some reason?
I'm sorry if this has been asked before - I'm new.

The AXn that the TV is connected to is now set up to extend the network.  (This may not be correct but it made the most sense during the setup)
No problem. Actually, configured to extend the AEBSn the AXn will provide better throughput than the ProxySTA configuration and have the benefit of support both wired (the TV) and wireless clients.
The AXg is in another part of the house and is used soley for airtunes.
I assume that you have then configured the AXg to "Join a wireless network" instead of creating a WDS ... and, if so, this would be the appropriate configuration as well.
With both AXs configured as such, both should show up as "AirPlay Speakers" as long as you have enabled AirPlay on both through the AirPort Utility.
Additionally, (seperate question) if I run an ethernet cable from the AEBSn to my iMac, will I be able to use airtunes?
AirPlay works over both wired and wireless connections. You should be able to stream from the iMac (connected by Ethernet to the AEBS), and then, the AEBS will stream wirelessly to either Express.

  • In Cisco IronPort WSA, what is the difference of an Access Policy, and an Identity?

    Hi Everyone,
I am currently setting up a custom access for a particular subnet.
What I did is to create a new identity for them, then allowed only specific URL categories for them. Note that the subnet is already allowed to access the internet through Global access policy.
What will be the difference if I rather created a new Access Policy for the subnet?
And technically, what's the difference of an Access Policy and an Identity?

This was not my question. I asked if using the Marginal in Printing will you have a frame around the image?
I think you're confused about which thread you are posting to.  "Wully bully" started this thread by asking about identify plates and watermarks, and I replied to Wully bully's post.
Nevertheless, your question too about printing is best asked in the main LR forum, not here.

Look for cloud solutions such as DropBox, OneDrive, SugarSync or others. They are all cloud based services that sync documents between computers via the cloud. Of course another solution is simply a flash drive formatted in exFat so that Macs and Windows computers can read it.

  • IPod photo and stereo reciever--need help

I have a 30-gig iPod Photo from about 2006. It works great but I'm wondering if anyone knows why it won't play the songs through my Pioneer Elite stereo receiver. I have a USB input and iPod option that plays my iPod Nano perfectly. But the receiver doesn't even detect the iPod Photo. I realize it's older, but why wouldn't it play songs on it when it does the Nano?? Thanks.

I have the same problem that you do. I have tried all, restart, reboot, restore to its original settings and nothing. I have tried using the battery to run it off and I have charged it again and nothing happened. The equipment reproduces music, but with a white screem is imposible to operate it. I guess I will try to use the warranty, but I live abroad the US. If you have any progress, please let me know. Good luck, regards, ajlorenzos

  • Wish I didn't upgrade! and now I need help to figure out how to make it wor

I have a Windows XP Pro 2nd edition with IE ver 6.0.2 (but I normally use FireFox)
I've never had any trouble with iTunes until iTunes "forced" me to upgrade my iTunes applicaiton to version 6 if I wanted to "purchase" music. (note to self: Purchase music from stores it's much safer)...
I upgraded and received no error messages. Trouble is now, when I launch the iTunes application it doesn't "open" ... although the iTunes process begins to run in the background process (ctraltdelete).
I have uninstalled and installed 5 different times and ways.
First uninstall was "typical" uninstall. THat didn't fix it.
Second uninstall was "typical" unistall from the Control Panel, and then I removed the folders from the "program File" folder. Still wouldn't work.
Third unintall was "typical" then I removed folders from local drive and removed all "known" registry "itune" keys. That didn't work.
Fourth uninstall was first a "repair" to itunes, and then a "typical" uninstall, then I removed folders, removed registry (does anyone know all of itunes registry keys? Maybe I am missing a few.. the only ones I know of is the "itune" reg). Then I looked through my start up menu from "msconfig" and took a look at my firewall program to see if there was anything preventing the program from running...
Fifth uninstall pretty much fruitless as my previous attempts.
I know it HAS to be a registry key of some sort.. here's why:
When I uninstall and reinstall (no matter how thourough) every time I install the iTunes program Windows XP has never ONCE recognized the new install of iTunes as a "NEW PROGRAM" and it should!
I need help... what registry keys should I be removing? ANyone suggest for me to remove Quick Time too? What about the ipod updater software? Any connection?
    HELP??????????????????
    THanks
    W.

    hi wmchisholm!
Trouble is now, when I launch the iTunes application it doesn't "open" ... although the iTunes process begins to run in the background process (ctraltdelete).
hmmm. is itunes.exe persisting in Task Manager? if so, first check up on these two possibilities:
iTunes 6 won't open on a Windows computer if firewall software is not up-to-date
iTunes for Windows doesn't open after upgrading
but if itunes.exe is disappearing after a few seconds, try the following technique:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
... and let us know the names (exact spelling please) of the start-up items that you had to disable in order to get itunes to launch. (there's a nasty piece of malware out there that has been causing "error-less" itunes launch failures since late October.)

  • No ACL deny logs for Traffic not matched by Static Object NATs and ACL. Need Help.

I start noticing that I do not see any denied traffic coming in on my ACL.  To better explain, lets say I have this config.
    ### Sample Config ###
    object network webserver
    host 192.168.1.50
nat (dmz, outside) static X.X.X.X service tcp www www
access-list inbound extended permit ip any4 object webserver eq www
If I generate a traffic from the outside let's say a traffic that is trying to access X.X.X.X via TCP Port 8080 which obviously does not have any NAT entry to it going to my DMZ, I don't see the ACL denies it anymore but instead comes back with a Drop Reason: (nat-no-xlate-to-pat-pool) . On the packet trace I got this. (Below) it seems that does not even hit the ACL as there is no xlate found for it, at least to what the drop reason says.

Before, using a regular Static PAT on ASA Versions 8.2(5) below, I could get the deny logs (ASA-4-106023). Generally, I use these logs, and are quite important for us specially during auditing.
My question is how can I generate logs for these type of dropped traffic on the ASA 9.1 Version?
Any comments/suggestions are gladly appreciated :)
    Regards,
    John

I believe, but am not 100% sure, that the reason you are not seeing the ACL drop but a no NAT matched is because of the changes from 8.2 to 8.3 in the order of how things are done.  In 8.3 and later you need to secify the real IP address when allowing packets in, and this is because NAT happens before the ACL is matched.  So since there is no match on the NAT the packet is dropped then and there, never reaching the stage where ACLs are checked.
As to seeing drops in the ACL log...You might want to try adding an ACL that matches the NATed IP...but I don't think you will have much success with that either.  My guess is that there is no way around this...at least no way I know of.

  • ISE Admin Menu Access Policy and Network Resources

    Hello Board,
Does someone experience the same issue as me, if using an Admin Menu Access Policy?
First of all, I'm using the latest ISE release (1.1.3.124 with patch 1).
I created a custom Administrator Menu Access Policy (Admin Access -> Authorization -> Permissions -> Menu Access).
But basically I allowed (show) all menu items.
Then I bind this permission profile to an Admin Authorization Policy
Everything works very well, but I have issues, if I want to administer "Network Resources", if I'm using this admin menu access
    - In "Network Devices", there is no Menu bar (no "add", "delete" or "edit" button)
    - In "Network Device Groups", there is just the folder "Groups" on the left side, but there is no way to create anything or navigate into the groups
I'm not quite sure if this is a configuration fault on my side or just some kind of bug.
By the way - I'm using the latest firefox.

As far as I know everything seems fine to me from the configuration  side. You can try downgrading the ISE version to 1.1.2 patch 5 and also  try changing the browser which might help.

  • Access Policy and Resources -11gR2

    Hi all,
I have create an Access policy in 11gR2, its working fine and as per requirement the Resource is getting provisioned / revoked properly.
In *11gR1* resources provisioned through the Access policy were used to be displayed / listed in the User's Resources tab, In *11gR2* the resources provisioned by Access Policy are not being displayed / listed in under the Accounts tab. is it the default behavior of 11gR2? or some bug? or I need to make any configurations to have it displayed here?
    Regards

nothing special has to do for showing under Accounts tab. Have you created *'Application Instance'* for the Resource. You have to create Application Instance and run the "catalog sync' job. and once Application Instance is provisioned to user. It will be available under Accounts tab.
Follow 11gr2 doc for creating application instance

My Ipod has been disabled because it wouldnt take my passcode. It said connect to Itunes and i need help on how to get back into it now. Can someone please help me?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • Disappointed: First time IPOD user needs help

This is the first time I have decided to take the plunge and purchase an IPOD. I decided to go all out and get the Touch. After tryng for a week to get it running and reading all of these posts, I am coming to the conclusion that this was a huge mistake!! It has been NOTHING but a headache.
Like other posters, my Touch is frozen with the USB cable logo. I tried ALL suggestions posted and in troubleshooting topics. I get as far as iTunes recognizing my device and saying I need to restore. However, every time I restore, it seems to be working but it never can finish and a window pops up saying unable to restore, and error occurred (1604).
Is there a way to get a hold of these people to get help? This is ridiculous and I am extremely disappointed! I thought Apple was supposed to be very user friendly. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there - Definitely give AppleCare support a chance. Use this page to locate the appropriate contact information for them: http://www.apple.com/contact/.
In the meantime, regarding your error message:
    I'd attempt a clean reinstall:
Go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
    Remove these applications:
    1. Apple Software Update
    2. Apple Mobile Device Support
    3. iTunes
    4. QuickTime
    Restart the computer
Download & Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Launch the Utility: Start > Programs > Windows Install Clean Up
Select any of the above mentioned applications, and click Remove
    Restart the computer again
Download & install iTunes again from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Prior to attempting to restore the iPod again, disconnect any and all non-essential USB devices you have connected to your computer... for example, disconnect printers/scanners but you can leave your mouse or keyboard.

so i will travel to another state and i will be with my aunt that doesnt have a computer and of course no internet. so i wanted to know if there is any place where i can tranfer music to it. like an apple store? please i need help

It would probably be best to find a family friend who can give you some time on their computer but here's some additional advice. By default the iPod is set to "automatically manage songs and playlists", and it links to a specific computer to update. To use it on multiple computers you need to change the update method to to "manually manage songs and playlists":
