Fair Use and Toll Free Calls

Can anyone tell me if calls to Toll Free phone numbers are included as part of the Fair Use limits of Skype?
We use skype to call into training sessions that can run for 8 hours and we have it the 6 hour limit.
Thank you,

Hi,
Fair usage policy doesn't apply to toll free numbers, because you can call these numbers without a subscription: https://support.skype.com/en-us/faq/FA24

  • Exorbidant toll free call charges - no avenue prov...

I just noticed my account funds dropped sharply after a 'toll-free' 1300 call to Australia - it was over 4.5 euros for a short call. This is surprising - especially after I just paid for a 100 min 'subscription' to Australian mobiles and landlines. Why are 1300 numbers so expensive to call? Why arent they included in the 100 minute subscription?
I notice many enquiries about toll free calls on the community but no responses from skype.
I also notice the advice above :
'If you have a payment issue please contact Skype customer service as users here on the community can't help you with those'
Where can we access skype customer service?????? - I have been scouring over your website and still cant find anywhere where I can send billing/payment enquiries.
Will need to re-assess my use of skype due to trust issues
    David

Hi, David_ray, and welcome to the Community,
"Toll Free" numbers in Australia may not be included in your subscription; Skype Customer Service can clarify this.
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Here are a few more notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the webform and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail.
If you are a Skype Premium or other eligible customer, you will be routed to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Toll Free Calls

Do you get charged minutes when you make toll free calls?
    Thanks,
    lin3

"Toll-free" refers to the 800, 888, 866, 877 series of numbers that do not incur "toll" charges for a long distance call on landlines.
Landlines and cell phones work differently. Landlines are tied to a specific location, "local" calls are unlimited for the basic monthly access fee, then you have a long distance plan tacked on for calls outside the local area.
Cell phones have a monthly allowance of minutes, regardless of where you call to or from, and the term "long distance call" is meaningless - whether you care calling locally, long distance, or to a "toll-free" number, it still uses your minutes.
    Hope that explains it.....

  • Toll Free calls for "844" numbers

I need to explain to a person that does not understand how to Create a "Toll Free" calling path for the new 844 numbers. Is there any "How to" instructions i can give to them.  I would create it myself but the outsource company are the only ones that have access to make these changes in Call Manager.

If you mean TEHO/LCR that's a concept, we have no documents to tell you how to configure that, you need to clearly understand call routing and all it's elements to understand how to configure it for each scenario.

If they don't know how to do this, they might end up causing bigger issues when attempting to do this.

  • Toll free calling and automated menu recognition

When I phone a toll free number with my iPhone 5, the automated system is not receiving any of my input. For example, if the automated system says press 1 for English, I press 1 and it won't recognize I'm pressing 1. Or press 5 for sales, it won't recognize I'm pressing 5. Any solutions?

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • Getting Bombarded by Telemarketers and Toll-Free Numbers

Okay, let's start from the beginning:
Preface, we have had the same cell phone numbers for over 10 years and we have not had one telemarketing or unwanted call.
We started with Verizon Digital Voice on August 26th. By September 1st, we got our first telemarketing call. By September 15th, we had enough telemarketing calls to demand a phone number change.
When we got a new number, we demanded that the phone number be non-published (which the first number was supposed to be). We also received asistance with Incoming Call Block. We thought the issue was resolved. Dead Wrong.
    To bring things to a head, we are getting cushed by toll-free numbers and telemarketers. Here are the phone numbers that are currently in our Incoming Call Block list: (800) 238-3770    (800) 477-6441    (800) 715-6478    (800) 726-9594    (800) 727-1182    (800) 978-7819    (866) 265-5945    (866) 759-8002    (888) 277-8353    (888) 688-0224
Here is the problem, one of these numbers, (800) 477-6441, consistently gets through the block. I have done the following to try and resolve this issue:
    - Removed the phone number and add it back in
    - Forward the phone number to a Google Voice number
    - Added all personal and business phone numbers to the Federal Do-Not-Call list
We are getting very annoyed with this situation and have even thought about getting something like http://www.digitone.com/ to supplement the phone service. Is there anything that we can do outside of added hardware? Does Verizon offer a way to block all toll-free numbers?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying. Luckily for us, there is no Early Termination Fee because we are not under contract. Our complex has a terrific deal with Verizon which includes no contract. That being said, if we do decide to get the device, I will absolutely give a honest, objective review.

  • Is it possible to use Citrix for home-use and for free, Only one use?

    Hi
I am a .Net developer so i need to have Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Windows for my Work, but i like iPad 2 in Tablets so that i bought one, Now in a video i have seen that Citrix is such a professional Desktop and App Virtualization that it seems Microsoft Windows is running on iOS, so i want to use it but not for business and just for home use, is it possible to set it up for free?
    Best Regards,
    PK DEVELOPER

Citrix does not allow iOS to run Windows. Citrix products are one of several ways to connect an iOS device to a system that does run Windows and allow the iOS device to take control of that Windows system. Citrix, to the best of my knowledge, does not make their back-end products (i.e. the software that runs on the system to which you want to connect) available for free; it's usually quite expensive as it's intended for enterprise use.
Citrix for home use would almost certainly be vast overkill, though. Just do a web search for "VNC". VNC is a solution for Windows and iOS that would allow you to take control of your Windows system.
    Regards.

  • Toll-free calls "cannot be completed as dialed"

    message canceled

    Hi Ameen,
What is the complete call flow? ( eg PSTN --- gateway --- h323 -- cucm ---IP phone )
Does the call go straight from the gateway to the phone or does it go to a Translation pattern or an auto attendant?
Does the call work normally if the extension is called from an internal phone?
Is the issue being reported for only one extension or for all the calls coming through a particular gateway?

  • How can I block all "Toll Free" and other unwanted calls?

Yes, I know all about the "Do Not Call" list, and the laws, blah, blah, blah.... these annoying calls from 800, 866, "Unlisted", "Anonymous" and "Toll Free" still happen.  And, there is no point in trying to save one number at a time in a "Don't Answer" list, as these callers are smart and rarely use the same originating number twice.... Surely there is a way to program my phone to ignore calls by area code or selected sender names.  Does anyone know how to do this?  If any app is available, or service, I would love to hear about it and pay a lot to have this kind of protection on my phone.  Thanks for your help in this!
    Susie

Verizon has family safeguards for $5 a month which covers all your phones. It blocks loads of numbers.
    Verizon Wireless - Verizon Safeguards
There is a feature on my iPhone 5s that you can block each number for free right from the recent call listings. "Block Number"
However I am not certain if this feature is on the cheaper 5c

That is an advanced option but likely available with most business toll free plans.  Possibly you can configure through call screening.  somewhat of an unusual request but i can definitely see the value in offering a toll free numbers to a predefined group rather than everyone.  Would be interested to know the resolution you found.  KC, Great America Networks Conferencing  Free Conference Calls

  • Cannot dial toll-free numbers

This morning I had to call an 866- number, and received a recorded message from Verizon "We're sorry, your number cannot be completed as dialed.  Please check the number and try again....blah blah".   Repeated attempts produced only a fast "busy" signal.  This number is in my CONTACTS and I've called it numerous times in the past, so I know I have the right number!  Tried to dial from my husband's wireless phone and got the same recorded message.
I then tried to call various long-distance (non-verizon) numbers - no problem.
Called a local number (non-verizon) - no problem.
Then I tried an 800- number and received the same recorded message as above.
I do not have a land line, so I went to my neighbor's house to make the 866- phone call from her land line -- no problem!  The call went through immediately.
Just wondering if there is a known problem with toll-free calls right now??   Hopefully it's not just me and they're working on it!

There must be a fiber line cut somewhere around us as I can not call an 800 number either. I am about ten miles away from you.

  • OCCS Disconnects from Meeting place toll free number every 30 minutes

    Hi,
I have Oracle Communicator 10.1.3.31002 (Build 070925.0901) installed. I use it to take meeting place calls using the toll free number provided. But, exactly after 30 minutes, the call gets disconnected without any hint or message... I have to redial to get into the call... Is there any setting which needs to be done to fix this... or is it a bug which needs a new version or build to be installed ?
    Thanks,

  • Call Block & Beep free call recording software??

hi there! is there any software for call blocking and BEEP FREE call recording available for Nokia 2730 Classic? suggest me (the website from which free download is available) plz! Thank you!

    Hi Srayza,
No, it's not. It stands for "as far as I know". :-)
If you have the same phone which is the Nokia 2730 Classic, please refer to page 24 of the phone's user guide as this provides the information on how you can record a call using the built-in Voice Recorder feature.
    http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_2730_classic_UG_en.pdf
You can also check the Nokia Store for applications such as this one: http://store.ovi.com/content/352676
Call blocking is possible if you have "selective call acceptance" feature on the phone. Such feature is only available to 2180, 2160i and 2160 phones.
As call blocking is a network service, you may contact your Service Provider to inquire if they have such service.
