I saw an article online recently that I couldn't believe. It turns out that it was fake so I was right to not believe it. I get this pop up when trying to create a photo book through the iPhoto store.
"Some or all of the photos you selected were downloaded from your published albums. You can only view these photos. To use them in an album or a slideshow or project, you must import them to your photo library."
The photos I have selected have already been imported so how and why do I do it all over again?
What do they mean by published albums? I categorize them into photo albums for organizational purposes after I import them from my camera or phone. So why can't I put them into a book now?
I have over 400 photos selected for a photo book for my child's graduation gift so how can I tell which photos I have to do this to?
Please help. Any insight wouyld be appreciated.

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

Apple does not provide SIM cards, carriers do.
Go to your carrier and get a SIM card. Whether it is free or not is up to them. -
I am trying to update my apps but keep getting a popup that says "Your Account is not valid for use in the US store. you must switch to the Canadian Store before purchasing." I can not find where to do this! Please help! Thank you!

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather . -
I have a 27" iMac mid 2011 2.7 GHz intel core i5 with OS 10.10.1. For about the last month when I shut down I get a window that says "Continue the installation Choose abort if you wish to cancel the installation ABORT YES". If I don't press anything or if I choose ABORT or Yes the message goes away and the computer shuts down. But the next time I use the computer and then shut down the message is back. I have looked to see if there are any downloads pending or if there are any updates trying to download. I am very puzzled.
Genieo Adware is installed. Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.

Everytime I start iTunes, I receive a "Setup Assistant" prompt saying "Warning. iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CD's, you need to reinstall iTunes."
Running version 6. Not real keen on going to 7, too much trouble, like losing ratings, pathways to my stored music file directories, etc., etc., etc.
Noticed in iTunes help "about" it says version 6.0.4.2,
"CD driver not available" and "CD driver DLL not available".
As far as I know everything works. I can purchase and download music store sings and albums. Not sure about downloading music from any CD as I have no new CD and all my CD backups are already downloaded. Nor do I foresee buying CD's when music store offers the same music.
All I have in 'add-remove' is iTunes and QT. Seems like I updated to QT's v7 after installing iTunes. Moreover, that I don't find GEARServices in my Services list.
As I had no error prompts or any other issues until after I declined the iTunes upgrade, I'm leaning towards some program or bug having removed GEAR', that or maybe even Apple or QT 'accidentally' did this so's to force users into upgrading (due to some backdoor having been found in GEAR)?

New news: I have 8 or 9 such plug-ins in my IE6's plug-in folder (i.e.; npqtplugin.dll, npqtplugin2.dll,
..3dll, ..4dll, etc.), plus one "something or other" there as well. It's named "QuickTimePlugin.class" and oddly displays the icon we see when Windows doesn't know what program use's it.
Just not sure the best way to clean up this whole mess, or if we need 8.1 QT7 plug-ins, or if there's really any cure for iTunes.
Note, in that neither Windows, IE or QT are engineered to detect existing plug-ins (either ignoring their downloads or overwrite them), apparently they're resulting from my useless attempts at getting QT7 to play streaming videos.
On another note, I hear way too many issues with iTunes, CD-RW's aren't recognized by iTunes, it lives on eating art work, was never designed to list song "titles", etc., etc., etc., so other than it's near idiocy in showing track numbers ahead of song titles, not to mention both reinstalls and upgrades that totally ignore my nearly a hundred hours of fixing correcting song titles, replacing 'lost' art work, everything works. No rant intended, so far as I can find out, just the facts.
Needless to say, I'm sure many are avoiding any upgrades regardless that (I believe I heard) Apple's now graciously allowing owners of other purchased music (like *%#@$* SonicStage) to now be converted so's we can play them in iTunes and iPods).
As for QT7 vs. QT7 Pro, since I refuse to pay for spyware and even though I'd like to download QT vids, it seems that repeated attempts at getting QT7 to play streaming vids and just a few design issues, no doubt is why we're where we are.

I am trying to hide apps on an iPad, but the instructions given to hide apps do not fit with what is coming up on my screen.
IT says go to purchases and then click on the x next to the app you wish to hide.
There is no x next to the icons on my screen.

ThanksReread the instructions. You cannot hide purchases on the iPad itself if you are running iOS 6 or higher. You have to hide the purchases in iTunes on your computer - not on the iPad.

Whenever I shut down, I am getting a window that says:

I have no clue where it is coming from or how to stop this from appearing.You may have partially installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -

This is a confusing statement. Can really move the rental between devices or not???If you originally downloaded it to a computer, yes. If you originally downloaded it to an iOS device, probably not; if you want to try anyway, use the Transfer Purchases function in iTunes.

I updated to Itunes 10.6.1.7. over 6 months ago on my Mindows XP desktop. It has worked well.
Recently, on startup, a dialogue box appeared which read: "Itunes was nor properly installed. If
you wish to burn or import CDs you have to re-install Itunes." I attempted to upgrade to V 11.0.1
which ended with an error message and a code 2330. I have abandoned that idea. I would like to
re-install V10.6.1.7 or update to 10.6.3. but where do I find these old versions? Which do I use,
32 or 64 bit?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
Error Message: itunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import CDs
I am using Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 and currently iTunes v8.1
Whenever I start iTunes, a message window pops up saying:
"itunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn cds, you need to reinstall iTunes."
I can click OK, and iTunes will continue to load normally. It also appears to work normally. I can put in CDs and it will import the music off of them.
I have tried to reinstall iTunes, and have even upgraded to the latest versions whenever they've come out (I've had the problem for several months).
Using information I found on the internet, including apple.com, I tried re-installing the GEARS drivers, but with no luck.
I have tried foolin' around with the registry, specifically the entry noted in the GEARS driver pages, altering UpperFilters and deleting LowerFilters, still no luck. Perhaps I'm not doing this correctly? In fact, if I delete both Upper and Lower Filters, upon restarting Windows, I will not have either of my CD/DVD drives showing up in Windows explorer. Further, at the initial stage, I did not have an UpperFilters key, or string. My LowerFilters string has in it, ElbyCDFL, AnyDVD, PxHelp20, ElbyDelay, and MxlW2k.
I believe all of these programs have been on my system for some time.
I am not at all sure what may have changed on my system to cause this error to occur, as I said, it's been several months.

Walt D in LVI had the same problem until I repaired iTunes.
Start --> Control Panel --> Uninstall a Program --> Click on iTunes --> Choose Repair at the top --> Allow change to be made

With Windows 7 I have completely deleted anything that was associated with Apple, Help, Support, you name it. It was verified nothing Apple. Reboot took place. I reinstalled iTunes per instructions and once again I got the following:
