If you're being redirected in Safari only, but not in Firefox, this is likely to be caused by a Safari extension that you have installed. Open Safari's preferences and go to the Extensions tab. What is listed there?
Try disabling everything shown there and see if the problem goes away. If it does, you can re-enable those extensions one at a time and see when the problem comes back... then you will have pinpointed the culprit.

  • Why I cannot play embedded you tube video in safari since 28 July 2011?

When I open embedded YouTube videos, it does not. Sometimes it plays only audio with black screen. This only happened since 28 July 2011. Same problem with my iPad 1.
    Hope to get a solution.

It plays fine for me as well so maybe aside from network issues you can try some standard stuff and see if any of it helps.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History,Cookies and Cache. Then restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut down. To power up, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears. Try the video again.
Try this as well. Close Safari and all open apps. If Safari is open - you have to tap the home button before you close the apps. Double tap the home button to bring up the task bar. Tap and hold down on any app icon in the task bar until it wiggles. Then tap the minus signs in the corner of the app icons to close them all. Then restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut down. To power up, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears. Try the video again.
You can also reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds untilt the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider. Try the video again.

  • You tube and ios6

Since the upgrade to ios6, I am no longer able to view YouTube videos which are embedded in forum pages....I get a black screen and a prompt telling me that I need flash player or QuickTime...I can view YouTube vids via safari on the you tube site ok..
Plus I no longer have a YouTube app....
    Ideas ?

YouTube is no longer part of the new iOS.
The inability to view the YouTube videos that are embedded in forum pages is probably because the browser is being directed to a desktop or classic YouTube website rather than the mobile YouTube website which is here.
    http://m.youtube.com/
Try swiping to the bottom of the site the next time that you want to view an
embedded video and see if there is a link to the mobile site at the bottom
    of the YouTube site.

  • Why is Firefox crashing when I am playing You Tube favorites playlists and other You Tube videos?

Lately within the last 2-3 weeks I have had a lot of crashes on my computer when I am running Firefox version 3.6.3 and trying to watch You Tube videos. It seems to only crash when I am on You Tube. It crashes even quicker when I am on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer recently. I never had trouble watching You Tube videos until recently. The You Tube site will open, I sign in, and then I go to my subscriptions or favorites and select a video. It will begin to play, get a minute or so in, and then I get the error message that it's crashed.
    == Crash ID(s) ==
    ID: 0fbb30ce-0fdd-4423-9aa3-3f8fe2100528 Signature: cabac_mb_skip

I am not sure I did this right. This is what I did: right-mouse clicked on the desktop, whent to properties, went to display properties, went to settings, clicked on advanced tab, and then clicked on troubleshooting tab. There I drug the hardware acceleration slider to the left to disable it, clicked ok twice as directed, restarted the computer and then I couldn't get firefox to open at all, but I went to internet explorer and got on you tube and tried to watch a video, but it crashed again.
So I don't think that worked. I couldn't figure out how to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin, but did it on the desktop instead. Are there different steps I need to take to accomplish this?
    Thank you!

  • You Tube won't play. OK on IE and Chrome. No crash message for flash. Adobe Flash updated.

I am running Windows7 Home Premium. I can play You Tube videos fine on IE and Chrome but on Firefox all I get is a blank black box. The You Tube site opens OK, just won't play anything. I do not get a crash message about Flash. Everything was fine until a couple days ago. Version is Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.34 Firefox5.0 installed

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

  • Firefox won't open You Tube - says it doesn't exist

I've been sent a you tube site by email. When I click on it, from email, the site opens.
However when I cut and paste the site into Firefox it says Your Search - xxxxx - did not match any options. Now I used cut and paste so I know it's correct. I also know the site works and my husband and friends can open this same site from their browsers. I went into Firefox Options, to security, to Allowed Sites and added YouTube. Still won't open. How do I fix this?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

The screen of my Mac book pro has gone black. The key board is lit up and the sound is good. After restarting it, the same you tube site was still on as before I shut it down.

  • How to unfreeze an image on you tube

I have an Ipad 3. Operating system ve. 5.1.1.
I have an image from a previously played video from you tube frozen on the screen. When using you tube and searching for videos the results are hidden behind this image. I am able to play videos from the search results by touching where I think they should be. The frozen image does not hide the very top or bottom of the screen and does not stop me from playing any you tube videos from Safari. How can I get rid of this frozen image? Thanks!

    Hi
What software do you have installed in your computer?
If you have FCP Studio read this tutorial: Encoding for YouTube Using Compressor .

  • Sharing to You Tube gives no linked account error message

    I am using FCPX 10.0.9
When I try to share video to You Tube I get an error message saying that there is "NoLinkedYouTubeAccount". The account is valid and the user name is correct as well as the password. Am I missing something?

Hi Russ, sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to your reply.
The you tube site uploader works normally. I only have a problem when I try to share/upload directly from FCPX.
I wnt to upload from fpcx because it loads a much smaller file size and the upload is much much quicker.

  • Spacing Issues and You Tube embed not playing in IE8, OK in Chrome or Safari

There are spacing issues (makes the website pages look like they are puzzle pieces) on all the webpages in
IE8, but in Safari and Chrome the website works fine.  Same for the You Tube embed.
My wife did the layout of the website in Ilustrator and then transfered over the design to Dreamweaver CS3
(she's a graphic designer - I stopped asking questions long ago).  Since she uses a Mac, it looked fine to her
in Safari.  She took it to her work computer (PC) and tried to see if there were any issues detected when viewing in CS5
and she said it was fine.

  • No sound on You Tube but sound works on other sites.  Any ideas how to fix this?

What could cause lack of sound on You Tube but not on other sites?  Computer working ok.  Could it be a plug-in issue?  If so, any idea which plug-in?

    1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced >  Delete  All
         Press the "Delete All" button
      2. Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
        Quit Safari.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.

  • You tube videos not opening Safari

After installing Chrome 18 yesterday, videos in you-tube in Safari did not play. I removed the NP-PP-DIR-Shockwave plugin, and now at least some videos play.I do not have any extensions in Safari. I can watch youtube videos in Chrome which I had to install because the TV site that I was using demanded Adobe Flash and would not play in Safari.
    Any help would be appreciated
    I am using Safari 5.1.7 on a Mac 10.6.8

    I just love Apple discussions........
