False Error Message

With so many still experiencing frustrating upload problems (I had them too, for weeks, after the launch of MobileMe) it hardly seems worth mentioning this, other than that it's a bit of a curiosity, to me anyway.
On several recent occasions after uploading small changes to my iWeb site I have received the message 'There was an error updating MobileMe', yet the red files have turned blue, and when I check the live site I find that the changes have been made.
Anyone else had this? Come to that, has anyone any idea why the message appears?

Warning: Your Adobe Flash Player version is outdated. (false error message)

When I get this false error message and click on the link, Adobe tells me my current Flash Player version is 11.9.900.170 and "Your system is: Windows 64-bit, English". I actually have an iMac with OSX 10.7.5, and Adobe Flash Player 11.9.900.170 already installed. I've reinstalled, deleted Flash Player completely and reinstalled several times and yet I continue getting these false "Windows 64-bit" update needed error messages for my iMac computer. How do I stop these false error messages?

I'm having a similar issue on both my Macbook Pro (OSX Mavericks), my iPhone 5S (iOS 7.0.4) and my wife's iPhone 5C (iOS 7.0.4). It happens on almost every site I viisit and when I launch some apps. I've cleared histories, caches and turned Javascript on/off. Also, get the "warning" when I use Chrome for iOS. I've added an image below of what it looks like on my phone. I'm attempting a factory restore on my 5S. I'll let you know if it helps.

False error message when trying to rent.

When I try to rent a movie, it tries to access the iTunes Store for a while then fails with an error message that it can't connect to the network. However, this same network conncetion works just fine to browse the iTunes Store as well as to navigate the internet and to download elsewhere.

Never mind. Seemed to be a temporary glitch with the iTunes Store.
Haven't seen it do that before.

False Error Message, not really sure?

So, I have this wierd error message. When I shut down my comuter manually, and turn it back on, I get an overheat error message. During use I get absolutely no signs that my computer is overheating (no freezes, spuratic shutdowns or restarts). I have windows 8 and I either use an icon I created that shuts the laptop down, or I simple swipe and select "Setting" , "Power" and select shut down. The error message is a bios error message and pops up before windows loads.
I really use vmware workstation for day to day work, which is windows 7 and Windows XP and use my Host, Windows 8 os for fun and personal things. My computer works absolutely fine its :
HP Envy 15
16 gb Ram
i7 Processor
256 SSD
My only concern is that there is something wrong somewhere and I am not sure where to look at this point any idea anyone? :-(

You might call HP and ask about other causes of spurious messages of this type. The concern, of course, is that the message is valid and that there is something going on that requires your attention.

There are various diagnostic tools in Windows 8 - for the disks, for the OS, for all sorts of things... to my knowledge (limited), there is nothing that addresses "what if it says it is hot but does not seem hot". I would definately be a bit wary and call this one in to the HP Tech Center.

Maybe one day one of the revolving-door CEO's will do a Google search for problems customers are having with your products and will see that the company's status quo isn't acceptable and do something to fix the problems internally that are affecting so many of your customers and also help the thousands of individuals who have basically hit a wall with regard to finding any kind of solution to the problems they have with their printers.

Not enough free space - False error message

Hello,
Recenlty I've been trying to download 'Creative suite 5.5 web premium'.
I've run into multiple issues.
The one that's gotten me really frustrated was an error saying that I simply did not have 'enough free space on hard disk', which is false since I have 1.4TB free and I am trying to download this program that is 4GB.
Another issue was that the download kept getting interupted randomly, and once the Adobe Download Assistant had crashed on me.....
I really just want to try this product out and maybe buy it at the discounted price before March 2nd....The way things are turning out I may not be able to.
(If you get the trial you only have to pay $399, but the sale price is $119 or $129.)
If anyone can help with this issue, that'd be great. (Mabyeif it's possible for me to download it without adobe download assistant.)

I had four sites. I deleted one site and removed a ilnk to it from a remaining site. Now I get repeated errors publishing: "There is not enough space on your .mac idisk to publish your site" and urging me to buy more space. This message is incorrect as I have plenty of space left and anyway I want to remove things, not add. Please help me get published.

Have you tried asking this question over in the .Mac forums? Or even better, have you sent an Email to the .Mac support people?
I've not experienced your issue with iWeb, so I can't really help out, however, I have seen the discussion about this problem several times in the discussions. You may want to try doing a search, if you haven't already, for this problem in the discussions and see if there is a fix.

Apple Laserwriter 8500 False Error Message

I have an Apple Laserwriter 8500 with a very low (18,000) page count, that's doing something strange & which I could find no answer for in the trouble shooting section of the manual.
It prints small jobs (approx 1 to 10 pages) and then the paper light ("out of paper", not "paper jam") comes on, even though I have a fresh full tray of good paper in the machine.
If I shut it down and then restart it, it prints the test page perfectly, and then works just fine... until the next job. It has done this now for the last 10 or so jobs.
If anyone has any ideas what is causing this, or any idea how I can troubleshoot this myself, I'd be very gratefull.
I live in a remote rural area & the nearest Apple Store is over 3 hours away by car.

Well, the EPOST tests check the memory SIMMS separately and I think those tests are passing. It's this separate and subsequent "general memory test" that's failing. Just in case, I did try running the EPOST test with the 32M SIMM removed (i.e. using the on-board 16 M RAM alone), but no difference, still got the same error result. So, I'm fairly certain the fault is in the main I/O Board itself.
On the good side, I did a search last night for a replacement spare I/O Board. Didn't find one, but did find a complete 8500 printer going on eBay UK, just an hour down the road from me, for £30 ($60), which is probably no more than I'd have to pay for a repacement I/O Board, so I bought it! From the pictures and the description, it looks like a mint example, so I might end up being glad mine has developed faults!
Mind you, I think I'd still like to fix mine, given that it is only the I/O Board (by all accounts), so I'll still be looking for a replacement for it.....

False error message of overlapping timecodes in PAL project

I am working on importing a .txt subtitle folder for a PAL project and an NTSC project. I have the same document for flowing the subtitles for PAL and NTSC except that the PAL uses colons in the timecode and NTSC uses semicolons.
The NTSC project flowed the subtitles in perfectly. The PAL says that I have overlapping timecodes. I do not. Any clues to why I have this bug?

Thanks Guys. I forgot about my post because I figured it out right after I left it. Any timecode that was 00:00:03:28 00:00:04:00 or 00:00:03:29 00:00:04:01 gave me the issue. I shifted them so that they wouldn't overlap the second and all was well.

Trying to move file in v1.0 - false error

Apologies if this post appears twice - I posted it earlier and do not see it here in the new topics list still....
I am a huge fan of LR. Well frikkin' done Adobe...
I am running the latest Mac OSX 10.4.8 on a MacBook Pro with 2 gigs RAM. I am a very experienced Photoshop user (since v3) and a savvy technical computer user.
I have come across a repeatable and for me show stopping bug - here's my workflow - I import images as per usual. Then I select some images and make them green with the 8 key, then choose to only view them with the filter.
Next I want to move these heros to a separate folder. So I make a new folder using the + button. Then I drag the images over. Voila. Works perfectly and I can see the selected images in the finder etc.
But sometimes I get a mesage that states that a certain file name exists already in the folder I am copying to and the copy stops. This aint so, as the folder is brand new and has nothing in it. So now I have a mess of some images copied and some not and I don't know where all my heros are - some copied and some didnt. Now if I try to copy the remainder of the files over now the drag and drop wont actually allow me copy any files at all.
But sometimes this works and then for no reason I can figure out some times this doesn't.
Is this a known bug?

I'm also running MacOS 10.4.8 and also have been having file-copying problems.
What I've been trying to do is move some already-cataloged folders from one volume to another. I had read in previous posts (Sean's?) that in these cases Lightroom usually would find the files on its own "eventually," and if it didn't you could use the "locate file" dialog to point it to their new locations.
What's been happening to me is that Lightroom, or the Finder, or both, stop responding during the copy process, or subsequently when I try to locate the moved file. Generally I get a window with a blank folder list (although in one case the folder contents suddenly appeared after about 15 minutes of inactivity) or a completely unresponsive system and a spinning beachball. Once this happens, Lightroom often doesn't even respond to the force-quit dialog, so this evening I've restarted my Mac more times than I have in the past six months!
So, what I suspect is happening to Will is similar: the Finder is dying partway through the copy process as part of some interaction with Lightroom, so the contents aren't updating correctly and he's getting false error messages.
Whatever is going on, it seems like a potential headache down the road, since anyone with a reasonably large library of images is going to have to relocate files from time to time as mounted volumes fill up.
Anybody who's got a good idea of what's going on and how to keep Lightroom from hanging itself and the Finder during copy operations, please advise!

IDVD false error "too many menus"

When I attempt to copy and paste a large menu tree, iDVD reports a false error message as below:
Too many menus
The maximum number of menus in an iDVD project is 99. No more menus can be created.
However, I have < 20 menus, and I'm copying a tree with ~ 6 + 5 small movies.
After I've generated this error, it will sometimes prevent me from creating submenus normally (Project->Create Submenu) until I restart iDVD, issuing the same error message when I attempt to create the submenu.
My end result will be a DVD with about 30 submenus, each containing some text and a short video.
I appreciate any advice on how to work around or fix this problem. . thanks!

Just a wild guess
Can it be so that You included SlideShows - as I get it they can cont. 99 photos each and that this no. has some relation to Chapter handling.
May be there is some problem related to this
• max 99 Photos per SlideShow
• max 99 Chapters per DVD ?
• max 99 Menus per DVD
I would try - Rebuilding a new project and see when or what makes it to react with this Error message.

Anyone attempt to download PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS v12 and got false error messges and crashes?

I had to download Premiere Elements v12 and Photoshop Elements v12. Premiere Elements went fine but Photoshop Elements gave me false error messages about disk space and user access. Anyone else have this problem?

'Printer offline' error message

My Epson XP-405 printer is turned on and working normally. But when I send an InDesign document to it I get the false error message 'Printer offline'. Documents created in all my other programs print without problems.

Receiving a false paper jam error message for a 6310 all in one printer

I have an hp 6310 all in one printer. It is showing a false paper jam error message with no paper in the printer. I have tried all of the fixes that have been suggested on the website as well as on you tube to no avail. Nothing works, I have cleaned all of the parts that have been suggested to clean and reset the printer. I am still receiving the same paper jam message with no paper in the printer. Does anyone have any suggestions to try to fix this printer.

Do you here any clicks or other sounds when the 6310 first starts up?
I'm trying to fix false paper jam error on Sharp Fax/copier,F0-4450.
When researching the problem, found suggestion that a bad solenoid could cause that error.
After completely disassembling the copier found that wasn't the problem.
I here 2 clicks during start up that sounds like gear slipping a tooth, as if something is preventing a shaft from turning.
Back to the drawing board.
UPDATE!!! Took fuser out, turned gears with screwdriver til 81/2x11 paper went thru, lubricated ends of fuser roller with powdered graphite lube.
3 page fax came thru.

False heartbeat failure error messages

Hello Everyone,
I am receiving false heartbeat failure error messages from all the agents in our environment.All servers are reachable and online at that time. The alerts get auto closed after 2-3 mins without any troubleshooting.
Can you please let me know how can i stop these alerts? We have configured alert emails so support team get notified of these alerts and they think something is wrong with the servers. We have two management servers and 70 agents in our environment.

Since you are receiving false heartbeat alerts for all the agents in your SCOM. There could either be a network problem on the MS servers or the agents. Check the event viewer for any network related errors or if their SCOM Health service keeps restarting
every few minutes. Check out for other errors too on the agents that might point to the cause of these alerts.
Alternatively you can increase the Heartbeat interval (default is 60 seconds) and/or the number of missed heartbeats (default is 3). If the issues get auto resolved then increasing these values to appropriate seconds and counts will not cause false
alerts for you.
