False Ringtones and Missing iTunes Money

I bought an album off iTunes a few days ago. I was planning on making a few of the songs ringtones; all of them had the little 'bell' next to them.
Now, when I go back to make the ringtones, it says I can't (it doesn't have the little bell, and it says I can only make ringtones out of songs I've purchased). Going back to the album on iTunes, they're still able to be used as ringtones.
Another thing: Yesterday, when I went to the iTunes store, it said I had $14.36 to spend. Now, I have $12.26. I haven't bought anything- I'm sure of that.

First on a computer go to iTunes>Store>View Account. Sign in and go to Purchase History and see what was purchased. Then, as necessary, contact iTunes

Ringtones and Old iTunes Account Name

I tried to create a ringtone from a song I purchased when my account was a former email address. I could not purchase the ringtone with the email address my iTunes account now has as the account name. When I "get info" on the song I see the old email address as the account name. I cannot login to iTunes with that login name since it no longer exists. Is this making sense? Any suggestions?

I did get good support by emailing Apple after a couple of tries. The person helping me did some digging and found out that I had two account names, neither of which matched up with the info on the purchased music.
The current account name would not work. Even though my purchased music listed a third account name, they suggested I try the second account and sure enough it would allow me to purchase the ringtone.
So if you can't get it to work you might try emailing Apple and asking that they check your history to see if there is an account that will work for your purchased music.

System restore and missing itunes

I did a complete system restore of windows XP on my computer and I thought that my itunes would be saved by apple similar to how my emails are saved by yahoo....but when I re-downloaded the itunes software, all of my itunes that I had purchased were gone! Is there anyway to recover them? how? Thanks Everyone!

I downloaded ringtones from the iTunes Store from Nguyen Dev. It had some amazing tones, but when I tried to download it, it wouldn't work. I ave tried repeatedly, but to no avail. If I deleted it, would I get my money back. My ring tones are so bland that I wanted something that was a reflection of me. This had it all. I am so disappointed. What can I do?

I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

I am confused. Do you mean you found the music, not the tones, or you can't find either?
If the former, then this is normal. You can't redownload tones from the Cloud.

Reciently I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and my ipod software because my ipod in now no longer recognized by my computer(a topic for another forum). My previously downloaded music is missing. Bootlace, That is exactly what I did. I could have just burned my tunes onto a disc before I uninstalled but I believe my children have stolen my brain cells. I have to figure out a way to restore my ipod but my computer is not recognizing it. I am obviously going to lose everything on it when I do and I was hoping to recoup my downloaded music. I am at my wits end and am ready to throw it against the wall. Any sugestions on that topic would be appreciated. I feel like I have tried everything. Thanks.

Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

After I install Itunes 10.5.2 and open itunes a window opens stating another program is not allowing itunes to burn cd's. Next, I get an error window stating itunes 42404 is missing. I've uninstalled itunes 3 times and re-installed. No luck.
