My family (spouse and 2 kids) all have iPhones.
We share one apple Id. This is becoming a nusance as
we share everyone's contact list and calendars.
I.e. I don't need to know the number of suitably
Labeled x boyfriend, "I'm pathetic".
I have obtained a new Apple ID but how do
I setup an new iCloud account without erasing
existing iCloud Setup?

  • Use a family iCloud account for bookmarks and find my iPhone - iOS 7?

Prior to upgrading to ios 7, I was able to use one icloud account as a family icloud account where I would only enable the find my iphone and bookmarks in Safari so that all of our bookmarks would by synced across all of our devices and our home family imac computer. In addition, through one login, I could use find my iphone to locate any device in our family.
With ios7, it seems only the primary icloud account can enable bookmark syncing and find my iphone. Anyone know if there is a work around? I don't want to make the family icloud the main icloud account on each device since it will require more icloud storage space to backup everyone's devices and it will also interfere with photo stream and documents/data stored.
Any ideas or suggestions? It was so nice to be able to sync bookmarks across all devices like that.
    Thanks
    Marco

In order for users to disable find my iphone they would need to login into your icloud account or if they wipe youe phone clean it will still ask for your apple id and password in order to activate the phone if they restore it so either they will get stuck with a useless phone

  • See my iCloud usage

where can i see and edit my icloud usage?

    To remove things from icloud:
Settings>icloud.  Turn off data storage for the listed apps by sliding switch to off.
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage storage, tap the device of interest,  click Delete Backup.
To see how much memory is used by app data,  Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups, look in the Documents & Data section.

  • Family icloud sharing: error message when trying to download itunes content

I just signed up for family icloud sharing, but cannot download any of my husband's itunes content. I just get an error message saying "An error has occurred" with the buttons "retry" or "done. Every file is the same. Thanks in advance for your help!

Some songs will not download if you have restricted your device from downloading explicit content. This seems to be true even for songs that are not marked "explicit." To remove the restriction, if only temporarily: Settings > General > Restrictions > Music, Podcasts & iTunes U > Explicit (slide dot to left).

  • ICloud usage by family

My whole family is on one acct. everyone has two-three devices. How can I separate them all and they still keep their games and stuff?

One person can keep the existing account, and you can migrate everyong else's devices to separate accounts.  Assuming they want to keep a copy of the iCloud data and move it to thier new account, you would start by saving any photo stream photos that they wish to keep to thier camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If they are syncing notes with iCloud that they wish to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to them so they can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in thier new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the account won't be effected by this), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password when prompted (if using iOS 7).  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create the new account and choose Merge to upload the data.  This would only have to be done on one device for each person.  They would then just delete the exising accont on their other devices, choose Delete from My iDevice (since the data is already in the new account), then sign into the new account.
Once everyone is on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete any unwanted data from your account without effecting anyone else's devices.

  • How to get Photostream from 'business' iPhone to 'family' iCloud-account

Has anyone found a solution for this yet ?
There must be numerous pleople having this same problem :
I have a (in my opinon rather standard) setup in which I have a private iCloud-account on my 'business devices' (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro) and I have a shared iCloud-account on our 'family' Mac.
Now I would like to arrange things the way that's most logical to me :
I want my business devices to sync the more 'business-like' iCloud services :
    Mail
    Contacts
    Calendars
    (Bookmarks is less important)
    Documents & Data
    Back to My Mac
    Find My Mac
    iTunes Store
    Mac App Store
But I want my business devices to Photostream to our 'family' Mac's, since that's the device where our (only complete) iPhoto-library is on...
Now there seems to be no way to do so since :
    - iCloud automatically uses the same iCloud-account for Photostream, Documents & Data, Back to My Mac and Find My Mac (only for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, iTunes and Mac App Store it is optional to use a different iCloud-account)
    - setting up my business iCloud-account as the secondary iCloud-account on all my business devices would be completely un-logical and would not allow me to keep (especially) my Documents & Data 'business' ; they will be visible on our 'family' Mac, which is completely off bounds for my employer and my clients...
Has anyone found a solution to this ?
(or will this be solved in OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion maybe ?)
options I have thought about, but I couldn't get working yet :
    - running a second installation of iPhoto on our 'family' Mac
    - running both iPhoto and Aperture on our 'family' Mac
    - getting the Photostream from my 'business' iCloud.com into our 'family' Mac by subscribing to the URL
    - setting up one-and-the-same Eye-Fi account on my 'business' iPhone & iPad and on our 'family' Mac
    - searching for a 3rd-party Mac-app that can read and/or import the 'business' Photostream info our 'family' iPhoto
    - something involving Photoshop Elements 10 Organiser...
    Any help would be helpful.
    Thanks !

Thank you for your reply Winston.
very interesting info, too bad however that Dropbox doesn't do auto-import into iPhoto...
I might have figured out a way to do this using Eye-Fi (free account, free iOS-app & free Mac-app ; by SanDisk) :
Eye-Fi seems to do auto-upload from iPhone/iPad, auto-transfer to a Mac (over WiFi, and if needed even over 3G it seems), and auto-import into iPhoto...
...it can even handle video upload (which iCloud Photostream can't)
and it has 'free temporary online viewing' with Eye-Fi View (which is kind-of like MobileMe Gallery...)
(and some payed extensions that are less interesting in my opinion)
...I'm testing right now if Eye-Fi works for me.
(Maybe I still need to combine it with Dropbox's auto-upload though...)
    Thanks !
Note : Eye-Fi even has an option to upload to MobileMe... too bad MobileMe is no longer available... hopefully there will be integration with iCloud in the near future...

  • Can multiple Apple IDs that are linked with Family Sharing all share one "family" iCloud photo library?

We have a family library of thousands of photos. Currently, we are using iPhoto to manage all of these photos, which  We each have our own apple ID, and each take pictures on our own devices, and have just been manually importing them all into the same library. With the new iCloud photo library, will it be possible to set up family sharing and all share and contribute to a "family" photo library?

Create Apple IDs for everyone individually and use that in Settings > Facetime, Settings > Messages, Settings > Game Center but keep the Apple ID used for app and content purchases in Settings > iTunes and App Stores

  • Multiple libraries family iCloud

My wife is the family photographer. She takes pics loads them into the Photo app on her mac. She has her own itunes account. There are 3 kids in the family as well - each one has a seperate itunes account as well. We are all in the iCloud family and I upgraded to the 200 gig storage under my iTunes account.
Question: Is it possible to merge my wife's photos with my photos into one library using iCloud?
Or do I have to sign her out of her iCloud account and log my iTunes account on her mac?
What we want at the end of the day - is to have all pics from all devices merge into a single library that we can all see (yes I will probably need more storage but I got the 200 gig just to see what is possible).
    Thanks

    Hi all..
I hope you don't mind me chiming in here, but I see this as a major flaw in the move from MobileMe to iCloud.
Roderick, based on what your requirements are, this sounds like a viable solution.
Here's the spanner in the works:
Q: Can you have more than 1 iCloud account on each iOS device?
Everything I have found so far points to "No".
If you can't, and you all want to sync "common" contacts, iCal events & numbers/pages stuff, then you have to use 1 common iCloud account. But you will not be able to FaceTime or iMessage each other!
    Is my assumption here correct?
I have a MobileMe family pack with 5 me.com addresses.  I have kept the "main" one from migrating, so we currently keep all our contacts & calendars synced with that "main" account in MobileMe.
Simple solution for the time being, but what happens in June 2012 when MobileMe is retired?

  • Managing multiple devices in a family - iCloud better using Mac or PC?

Anyone using a Mac to manage multiple i devices? We're sharing an iTunes account in the family and are finding limitations using iCloud on our PC. Specifically, can you manage iCloud on each device from a Mac?

The only practicable way to do this is for each person who has an iCloud account to have their own user account on the Mac, They can then sign into iCloud and keep their data separate from everyong else.
It is possible to have a single user account and sign into one iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud and then sign into subsequent ones in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars, but if you do this with a number of accounts it will get messy, and everyone will see everyone else's data and emails.
If you enable 'Fast use switching' you can have several user accounts running at once and simply switch between them (though of course this all takes processing power and RAM). Probably better for everyone to sign in and sign out to their user account when they want to use the Mac - that feels like everyone having their own computer.

  • Additional icloud usage

How do I activate icloud for additional usage given that my ipod touch indicates that my current plan is for 15g for which I've paid AUST $21.00?  Also, how do I check payment details for the same?

Try calling the Apple online store for your country.  They process iCloud storage refunds and may be able to tell you.  Their number should be shown at the bottom of this page.

  • TS4036 ICloud usage

When I check settings>General>ICloud>manage storage I see 100MB still on an IPAD that I returned and had replaced due to a battery defect. How can I find out what is in that 1000MB of storage? Is this just the data for the standard things that are on the IPAD since I did wipe my IPAD  clean when I returned it.
I would like to erase that 1000MB from my storage usage if it does not have anything personal from a backup done on my old returned IPAD.

Thanks David. I just had the same problem.  I did exactly what you said.  Once I powered my IPAD on, I was able to get to Settings and update iCloud with my new Apple password.

  • Family iCloud account

    Hi,
Hoping someone can help...  in the day of family mobile me i created my kids email accounts. Then migrated them to the icloud platform.
They have since both forgotten their passwords and I need to retrieve some of their emails. They have also changed their ages on their profiles and forgotten that to.
How do I go about getting this fixed so they can use their existing email address again and apple id to itunes?
    Cheers

  • ICloud Usage In The Enterprise

Forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong location, but it seemed to be the best suited area...
With the announcement of iCloud, I've been trying to find information on how it will be managed on devices that are used in the enterprise? The company I work for has approximately 200 iPad users and 300 iPhone 4 users that sync their corporate mail, calendar and contacts to their devices.
Each of these users has tethered their device to their own personal iTunes account so they can add music, apps, video, etc to the device as they wish. We secure these devices using a MobileIron appliance along with Apple MDM certificates that allow us to implement security policies on the devices.
If these users choose to sign up for iCloud, does anyone yet know if it will only allow your me.com account to sync to the cloud? The last thing we would want is for these users to have their corporate mail/contacts/calendars synched to the devices and then simultaneously synched up to iCloud.
Anyone have any suggestions on how we might combat this? Or if it will even be possible to sync accounts via iCloud for anything other than me.com accounts? Thanks!

    HI All,
Actually I face the same problem, only mine is using Apple MDM on Lion Server. We plan to deploy 2000 or more iphone 3gs on company cost. Currently in progress and already around 900 devices live using inhouse corporate application.
Our challenge is on security administration things. Wondering if there is somekind like iCloud that we can use in corporate to track the location in case of lost. we are now experiencing already two device lost on duty.
Currently all devices that we already deployed are registered to iCloud using one Apple-ID, no problem on registration process. However when I open iCloud, only limited devices was listed, I think just about 90 devices on the list. Unfortunately the two devices that reported lost are not on the list. So I feel hopeless now.
While MDM can only do Wipe and other things, but can not tracking the location.
Appreciate if someone can give me a clue the alternative to overcome those issue. Thanks.
    Regards
    AA
