Family pack account to iCloud ACCOUNTS retain former account holder name.

My children are flying the nest and I have converted and am converting their accounts to Lion and to iCloud from my old mobileme family pack account which contained their mail accounts. Unfortunately, the new accounts show my name as the continued account holder. I cannot figure out where this needs to be corrected. Any ideas.

Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.

Setting up a family pack member in iCloud

I bought a family pack last year to set my 89 year old mother up with a me.com account. When I transitioned to iCloud, I tried to transition her to iCloud too, but it keeps rejecting me. She wants to keep that email address, and has an older mac. Upgrading her to a new mac isn't an option. She knows her way around her present mac. A new one would just confuse her.
Is there any way to set up an email only account in iCloud? With her old email address?

Are you running Lion on your mac? if so try setting up a user account for her on your mac and turn on MobileMe to get all her mail and settings. After that try moving her account to iCloud.
If that works you will need to go to her mac and enter the mail server information and such. I think there is some information about the setting on the Apple Support sites somewhere. Here is an outside link that has some good info about using icloud with Snow Leopard. Maybe it will work. Worth a try to keep the email address.

HT204053 Family shared Apple ID, Icloud and Itunes passwords & accounts confusing

We started out sharring itunes when kids were smaller and now they are older and have their own iphone5. How do you share itunes (with one password) with the family and all have their own icloud with individual icloud information without it all crossing. The Apple store said it was possible. Any ideas how to separate the passwords? Every time I change mine it makes the Apple ID and my Icloud the same and the kids have their own Icloud email and passwords they just set up. Trying to make Apple ID and Icloud separate passwords and family share itunes or even split itunes up somehow if we have to.

You can continue to share the same Apple ID for iTunes on all your devices; it does not need to be the same as the ID used for iCloud. If you change your iCloud account to a new ID you will be creating a new account, which will leave your current iCloud email address and photo stream behind. Is that what you want to do?

That means the Restriction is set that prevents changing accounts. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and unset it so you can delete the account.
Deleting the account for one device does not effect the account on other devices.

Each sub-account of a MobileMe Family Pack should have been individually migrated to iCloud before August 1st last. Assuming that you didn't do this, you should be able to reactivate the address (though not retrieve its previous contents) by signing in with it in System Preferences>iCloud and enabling Mail - your son should do this on his own Mac or his own user account if he is using your Mac. It's not clear whether he will be able to reactivate the @me.com version or only get an @icloud.com version. (It would be useful to know, when he tries it.)
If he did migrate the account to iCloud then signing in in the same way should retrieve the contents and the @me.com address should work.
Alternatively he can just create a new Apple ID (for which he will need a new non-Apple email address) if he doesn't already have one, and sign in with that, enabling Mail and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
You should note that in none of these cases does his account have anything to do with yours (there is no need for a Family Pack equivalent in iCloud as it's free at basic level).
You could add an email alias to your account, but it's not a good idea as it will mix his emails up with yours and he won't be able to detach it later.

Retained Earings Account in FSV

I am facing some problem in Balance sheet Report ( using FSV) , my client requirement is balance sheet separate and p & L Separate so I am using two different FSV . Here P & L is perfect .
If I execute the balance sheet report, Retained earnings value is not flowing , because few month back only go live happened here ,(end of the year only we are carry forward the balance, so will not get it ) my client is asking me the p& L balance should be appear in the ( retained earnings account ) shareholders fund , so anyone give me the solution
OR Do i need to update balance carry forward balance for every month (FAGLGVTR - Balance Carryforward ). please advice me.

You carry forward balances at year end using FAGLFVTR . Only then all accounts are closed to Retained earning accounts. Hence unless you do not carry forward balance to next fiscal year using FAGLGVTR you would not be able to show impacts in GL. Please refer to one of my link given under which contains brief discussion about nature of retained earning account and its impacts.

Business want to devided net profit / Net Loss with Operationg / non - Operating Loss of Gain then you can create morethan one retained earning accounts.
when you create morethan one retained earning account, you should select retained earning account indicater during P&L GL master creation.

.mac family pack. Why can't I change these addresses any more?

I bought a family pack years ago and set up email addresses for family members and one for a vacation rental we had. We no longer own the vacation rental and I want to delete that account and set up a new .mac address for what we are now doing? I used to have to pay for the email accounts. Are they now free?

There is no DotMac or MobileMe any more. Each of your Family Pack accounts should have been migrated individually to iCloud, but even if you didn't do that you should be able tro re-enable the addresses (though not access any previous contents) by signing in in System Preferences>iCloud.
You cannot delete Apple IDs or iCloud accounts, but if the account you refer to wasn't migrated it's not active anyway. You cannot re-use the address in another account, and though you can set up new iCloud accounts you cannot create @mac.com addresses, only @icloud.com addresses. There is no Family Pack facility in iCloud.
iCloud is free at basic level with 5GB storage; you can purchase extra storage if you wish.

You will be charged the proportion of the difference between the individual and family pack for the remaining time of your current year's subscription, as long as you pay by credit card. If you buy a 'retail pack' you will have to wait until the current subscription expires.
A Family Pack gives you four sub-accounts, each with its own email address. There are no email-only accounts.

Yes - that is the whole point of a Family Pack, that you get your main MobileMe account and then 4 sub accounts where you can enter a personal domain name into each - so in effect 5 domain names if you want to use them all.
You need to set up your sub accounts from your main MobileMe account. So in your main MMe account, there should be somewhere that says 'create sub account'. Click on this to create your new sub account that will have a separate username and password.
Then log out of your main MMe account under System Preferences and then log into the sub account with the new username and password. Then go to the personal domain name settings and add the new domain name as you would do in the normal way.
You can also create new users on your computer to enable quick switching between accounts if you want to.
This question would more appropriately have been placed on the MobileMe Forum. It does not really have anyting to do with iWeb and is not a question directly related to iWeb.
Also note, that it is called the MobileMe Family Pack and not iWeb - MobileMe refers to hosting and has nothing to do with iWeb - the two are not connected.

There are no family packs for iCloud.
If you want them to have their own accounts and monitor their email, add their accounts as secondary accounts to your own (system preferences > mail, contacts & calendars > add account).

HT4929 How do I manage a family pack? I as family main account can migrate, but would like to save all other family email accounts, what do I need to do?

I have a main mobile me account, I now have updated everything of mine to migrate to I cloud, but my account is a family pack, so my daughter, sons and rest of family are not all compatible with I cluod... they all mostly only use mail only. what steps do I need to take so they dont loose their email accounts?

I tried just that. When I logged in and proceeded through the iCloud screens, it finally asked me if I wanted to create a NEW iCloud account. Unlike when I migrated myself, it just said something to the effect of "using your current MobileMe account name and password". It did NOT ask me to set up a NEW account. This the ppoint at which I felt stuck. Do you recall if you were asked to set up a new Account and password?

I think I screwed up my migration. I turned off the sub-accounts on my Mobile Me Family Pack before I hit the button to move my account. Now it seems I have delete all of my family's email accounts. Can they be re-activated/retrieved?

I'm tryin to move my account to iCloud too and I have sub accounts. I deleted a couple of the sub accounts and found that one of them (didn't try the other one) couldn't login anymore. I haven't moved to iCloud yet and I was able to re-establish the sub account. I had another go at moving to iCloud and noticed that I may not need to delete the sub accounts, it just warns that I won't be able to add or delete them after moving to iCloud. Maybe that is the way to go. Move the main account to iCloud without deleting the sub accounts?? Maybe this will leave the sub account owners able to move in their own time.
I don't know if you can fix what you have done if you have already moved to iCloud with your main account. Might be time for you visit the local Genius Bar or call Apple support.
I may try a visit to my local Genius Bar over the weekend if I can make an appointment ;-)
