Family Pack use in a company?

Are there any license restrictions regarding the use of the iWork Family Pack?
Some software has a "commercial use" clause preventing the use in a corporate environment, does iWork have anything like this regarding the family pack.
So...
Can I buy the family pack & use it for example on 5 computers in a small company?
Other licences prevent installation on more than 1 premesis.
So...
Can I install on 3 computers at the office & 2 at home?
and lastly where can I get a copy of the license agreement?
Thanks

OK, found the license, all questions are answered in one neat paragraph:
B. iWork Family Pack License. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-
labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that same
household. By "household" we mean a person or persons sharing the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home or
condominium. This license does not extend to students who reside at a separate on-campus location or to business or commercial users. You
may not make the Apple Software available over a network.

  • How can I tell if my software licence is a Family Pack or Single use?

I need to work out which licence I have as my daughter has a Mac Book.  Her school provided her with iWork but take it off when she leaves in a month or so.  If I have the Family Pack I can load Pages, Keynote etc, but not if I only have Single use.

If you still have the box or electronic receipt you could call your closest Apple Store and give them the serial # or model # and they can check it. Do you remember what you paid? Also, there are no longer any Family Packs with Lion, but I see your sig says Snow Leopard.

  • How I can use my family pack Microsoft Office Home

How I can use my family pack Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010  PC software on my  current Mac Notebook?  Since my new operating system is "OS X" technically I wouldn't have such a issue, but it does & I couldn't run the office 2010.  By using iZip Unarciver only I was able to open the disk, but not to run 2010.

You have two choices if you want to use Office:
    1) purchase Mac: Office 2011
    2) install Windows on your Mac and use the Office 2010 you own

  • I know that the iWork family pack can be used for up to five computers, but what if I install it again on the same computer? Will the second installation count and leave me with three more installions?

    Thank you.

If you reinstall iWork using the family pack on the same Mac, it won't count as a second Mac, so you will be able to install it legally on four more Macs

  • Business use and business licences (family packs??)

I posted this in the .mac communication forum, too, so hope that's okay and not going to cause any confusion. Would have posted it in a general topic but couldn't find one. Would be nice to have a topic for small businesses and/or creative/professional businesses. Anyway, the other thread is here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1085712
I am somewhat surprised that Apple isn't putting more emphasis on small businesses in terms of where they are pitching their software. I don't know about the rest of the world but it seems like more and more small businesses (and certainly those in the creative industry) are switching to Macs.
So why does Apple not allow .mac to be used for business use and why does Apple only have "family packs"? I would love to get iWork for my staff (four licences) and a collecting team licence for .mac (family licence?)....
.mac could be perfect for business use and in-house/client collaboration but for some reason it seams Apple just isn't thinking of those possibilities. With web applications like Basecamp, Highrise, Connector etc and desktop programs like DayLite, there is clearly a huge market for these services and Apple is well on the way to having one of the best systems there but for some reason they won't extend it slightly to make it work for business.
    Any takes on this?
    Cheers,
    Galen

Apple does offer volume licensing for businesses. I'm not sure if this link will "time out." Here is the path I took to get to that page: Apple.com > Store tab > link under More Stores Business on the right-hand side of the page > Volume licensing under Business Solutions, again on the right-hand side of the page. The list is alphabetical.

  • Using iWeb with MobileMe family pack

I just upgraded to the family pack for mobile me. I had been using it for my homepage, but now I'd like to make a homepage for my son, and my wife wants to make a homepage as well.
How is this handled in iWeb? I don't see a way to tell it where to publish which site when I add a new site.
What is the easiest way to handle multiple mobile me websites on one mac?
    Thanks.

Not having used the sharing option since there's only one user on my Mac, I don't know the ins and outs of what you want to do. Terence Develin might. If you want to share the library with all users and have them be able to access the library, import new file and perform edits then the best solution is to put the library on an external HD whose ownership has been set to off. This Apple document explains the process: iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users.
The drive can also be used to backup other files as well.

  • OS 10.5 Family Pack Retail Questions: PowerPC Install; Used as Boot Disk?

I have a MacBook Pro (which I've not unsealed yet) that was sold with 10.5:
    (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/stats/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2 .53-aluminum-15-late-2008-unibody-specs.html)
and I have a Mac G4 Dual 867 powerPC, which will continue to run 10.4.11.
I also have a piece of database software that requires 10.5 so I am thinking of installing 10.5 on a separate hard drive in the G4 so I can run that software on the G4 if needed.
I believe I also recall reading that the install disks sold with the MacBook Pro can't be booted from (you need the retail).
    So my questions are:
    1. Does the retail version (family pack) include installers for both PowerPC and Intel Macs (i.e., I am free to install on any Mac which meets the minimum requirements)?
    2. The retail pack can be used as boot disk for the MacBook Pro in case of an emergency?
So far, from the research I've done I would say yes, but wanted to check.

Does the retail version (family pack) include installers for both PowerPC and Intel Macs (i.e., I am free to install on any Mac which meets the minimum requirements)?
Yes, as long as the Mac isn't newer than the disk.
The retail pack can be used as boot disk for the MacBook Pro in case of an emergency?
    See above.

  • Opened OS 10 Tiger 10.4.3 Family Pack 4 sale supposedly never used

A person has an opened Tiger 10.4.3 for sale. Says he did not use because he got a new computer with the software already on it and decided he didn't need the pack. When you install it on your computers you supposedly have five licenses to do this. Does Apple track these when you install them or activate them? My concern is that I buy the package and maybe someone has already upgraded two of their computers to Tiger and then decided to sell the family pack as if there are still 5 licenses available. If the family pack only really gives you the right to add Tiger to 5 of your computers, is the actual software DVD to load on your computers in the package? I have several Macs that I would like to upgrade to Tiger and the purchase of this pack would be less than going out on the market, but I don't want to buy something that I can not use legally.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi
No, Apple doesn't track the licenses in that way. You can still install the software legally on 5 computers, even if the previous user has made some installations.

  • Backups over the Internet Using MobileMe Family Pack

I know how to configure an AirPort (AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule) to be accessible for Back to My Mac using a MobileMe account. However, we have a Family Pack. I am the Pack master, so I used my ID to set up Back to My Mac on my Time Capsule (and Air Port Extreme at our other location). This seems to just make the master account work. Should the master account enable all of the MobileMe family accounts to leverage Back to My Mac (and hence things like remote backups)?

Recent update to AirPort enables multiple MobileMe accounts to be used for BackToMyMac

  • Can i use my iwork family pack for ipad2?

I bought iwork when i purchased my macbook, it is the family pack and has installs left on it. Can i use it for my ipad2(that they say will take 4-5 weeks!)?

Hey RedEyedJedi & welcome to the forums.
iWork for the iPad is a different application. The discs you bought won't work. If you want iWork on your iPad, you need to buy it through the App Store.

  • 2 websites using family pack

I have an existing site using my mobile me and I'm using a mask from Go Daddy-so when people type in my non-.mac site, it goes to my Go Daddy URL (even though its being hosted by mobile me). Anyway, I recently upgraded to a mobile me family pack so I can add a new site. Again, I bought a url from Go Daddy and now i want to create a new site using iweb and use my mobile me to host that new site (in addition to the existing site).
What is the procedure for this? I was going to use my laptop to do the second site so there are no conflicts (and so I dont have to create a new user on my tower) but I don't know how to create a new site without overwriting the existing one.
    thanks.

The easiest way to do that is create a new user account on your Mac just for the second web site and MMe account. Then go to the second account, log into the second MMe account, launch iWeb and create your second site, publish and set GoDaddy to point to it.
Enable fast user switching so you can quickly switch accounts when you want to edit the second site.

FWIW you can have multiple web siteS in one MMe account using domain names.
Multiple Sites in a Single MobileMe Account with Domain Name(s)
Here's how to have multiple sites in a single MMe account with one or more sites having a domain name.
    A. All sites are in the same Domain.sites2 files
1 - only one site can use the CNAME method of domain name forwarding and it must the top site in the left hand pane of iWeb.
2 - the other sites must use URL domain name forwarding which directs the domain name to the site's full MMe URL, http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/SiteName, or, if there is no domain name, just MobileMe's full URL.
    B. Each site is in its own Domain.sites2 file.
Again, only one site can use CNAME forwarding. This presents a problem since CNAME forwarding directs the domain name to the basic MMe account URL: http://web.me.com/MMe_Username/ which uses an index.html file in the root folder of the account, iDisk/Web/Sites. Each time a new site is published or an existing site uses the File->Publish Entire Site a new index.html file is created in that root directory, iDisk/Web/Sites folder, directing the browser to that particular site. This file is what the CNAME method uses to find the site it represents.
Therefore some steps must be taken to assure that the index.html file in the MMe Accounts root directory always points to the correct site. This can be accomplished is three ways.
1 - don't use the CNAME method. Just use URL forwarding . This, IMO, is the simplest method as it doesn't requre any additional effort on the user once the domain name has been set up.
2 - use the following method suggested by Wyodor in this topic: Is it possible to have multiple sites when using ur Domain name?
    In iWeb domainfile 1:
Create a dummy site : _dummy
    with a blank page.
Create your working site : Whatever
    Add pages
Publish both Sites to the same same location on the same server.
Your _dummy site is now the default Site.
    Check.
    In iWeb domainfile 2:
    Create/Use your CurrentSite.
Move a page to the top of the Site and back. Publish the Site.
iWeb will create a new index.html file in the root of the server and from now on CurrentSite is the default site.
    Check.
From now on, never move your Whatever Site to the top of the list in the iWeb sidebar and never change the page in the _dummy site.
Simply do not touch your _dummy ever again. And never forget that.
3 - use Ethomid's suggested method in Using two sites - setting one up with separate domain? or republishing the entire site that uses CNAME forwarding. Just making a minor change and publishing the site changes does not create a new index.html file.
The entire site must be republsihing in order to get that new site.
Or keep a copy of the CNAME site's index.html file on your Mac and replace it manually in the iDisk/Web/Sites fodler when necessary.
NOTE: the CNAME method provides a shorter URL: http://www.yourdomainname.com/SiteName/PageName. CNAME does not have masking.
The URL forwarding displays the full MMe URL: http://web.me.com/MMeUsername/Site_Name/PageName. With domain name masking that will be shortened to http://www.yourdomainname.com for every page of your site. However, visitors will only be able to bookmark the first page of the site and enter from the first page of the site.

  • IPod Touch upgrade to use iMessage and it syncs with Dad's iPhone info!!! Using family pack Mobile Me. HELP???

I have three children that use iPod Touches. They are all iOS5 capable. I upgraded the first one this morning and it synced with my iPhone profile on iCloud. It asked for the iTunes account information which is what I believe caused this. We use Mobile Me Family Pack and each of the children have a unique @me.com account. How do I fix this problem so that each iPod has it's own unique login so that iMessage will work? I don't really want to open them up to any further exposure  on the Web though... . As it stands I am able "micromanage" their contact list via Mobile Me. Is there any way to make the iPods behave correctly and still maintain parental control as well as allow them to keep their unique profiles and contact lists???
...and for some reason, after upgrading my son's iPod Touch... his apps all disappeared from the device??? Strange, as this worked perfectly when I upgraded my iPhone yesterday.
PS. All my upgrades are current. iOS5 on iPhone 4, iTunes 10.5 on MBP.

I spent about 2 hours on the phone with Apple Support... had to restore both devices! Arrrgggghhh!!! Thankfully the iPhone had a Backup from yesterday. The iPod wasn't too tough to get back up and running either... although we had to completely reload it as if it were new. Then we found out that Apple won't let the device login with my son's @me.com email because he's too young (10). Quick work-around for now until Apple fixes this was to lie about his age in the setup. I don't like the work around, but it worked.
