Family Share not working

I've only just discovered this family share option and am trying to set it up on both my son's iPad's and iPod (my old iPhone 4). Each time I try it tells me they can't join as they are already part of the family. They are currently using my iTunes account details, but at the moment all my texts and phone calls are coming through on their devices, something I am trying to stop.
Does anyone know how to get around the needing a credit card to add kids under 13 to your iTunes account? I don't have one, and will not get a credit card just for this purpose, yet I want to try and give them their own iTunes id (as much to stop what's coming through on my phone, coming through onto theirs, as well as making iMessaging and FaceTime possible.

Having a credit card in order to add a kid to Family Sharing is a legal requirement to validate that you are taking financial responsibility for the purchases of the minor. After the initial setup, you can change to a debit card. But there have been no exceptions to needing the credit card initially (and not for lack of people asking).

Have you signed in at Settings > Music with same Apple ID and password as you used in iTunes and on your iPhone to enable Home Sharing?

Why Family Share not show up on my MacBook Pro? Help

I am supposed to be part of a Family Share account. I can access Family Share & other family member's purchases on my iPad but NOT on my MacBook Pro that is running Maverick OS. I log into iTunes, click on the drop down window at the top where my name is located but when the window drops down Family Share is not an option nor am I able to see the names of the other family members in the group. I have tried going to "System Preferences" to "iCloud" and then try to look for "Manage Family" but it is not there. Even if I then if after getting to "iCloud" & logging into "Account Details" there is not anything about "Manage Family" or "Family Share"
Can you not participate with Family Share using Maverick OS?
I would REALLY appreciate assistance with this issue.

Welcome to the Support Communities! The reason you are not seeing the Family Sharing account on your MacBook Pro is because Family Sharing requires OS X Yosemite on your computer.

my sister has a 2 gen apple tv and the family share content does not appear. how do i fix that.

TV rentals are only a recent addition, and your original appletv never had them.
you have not lost anything, your appletv still does what it did when you bought it.
if you want access to TV rentals then you need to buy a $99 second generation appletv.
only you can decide if spending $99 is worth it to get "limited" TV show rentals.

Itunes Match Family Sharing Not Working

My parents have purchased iTunes Match, and they have also enabled ITunes family sharing, with my father's account being the "organizer" and my mother's being an authorized user. I have checked both their phones, and all iCloud/iTunes Match functionalities are turned on on both their phones. However, whenever my father purchases music through iTunes on his phone or computer, only sometimes does the content show up on iTunes on my Mother's phone, other times it does not. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there some hidden functionality that needs to be turned on? I am not inexperienced with tech issues, but I cannot figure out for the life of me why this issue is recurring.

After reading through the forums, I see iTunes Match does not work with family sharing. I believe that I may have conflated my issue. My parents are not having a problem with iTunes Match songs (songs uploaded to iCloud from computer) not being shared. Instead, they are having issues with songs purchased from iTunes directly not being shared across both their accounts. The issue occurs regardless of whether the songs are purchased by my father, the "organizer" of the iTunes sharing, or by my mother.
Am I correct in assuming (since I was not the one to setup iTunes Family Sharing, and have not dealt with it before) that iTunes Sharing is supposed to allow music purchased by any of the accounts associated with the family "organizer" to be accessed by all of the accounts associated? This assumes, again, that the content is shareable (which the website says iTunes music purchased from iTunes is).
If I need to repost this question in a different forum, I will do so.

Hi so on messages my friend is trying to share her screen with me and it is not working. When i added her it isnt letting me share my screen or ask to share hers. do we both need to have the same account type? how do i get it to work? and do i put in her email as the username? I have an aim account and she has a gmail. what is bonjour and do we need it to work?any insight is appreciated

Try Sytem Preferences -> Sharing
Enable (check) Screen Sharing on both computers.

ITunes Home Sharring not working correctly.

My itunes homesharing is not working correctly. I have a Windows 8 computer and I am trying to share with my partners Widows 7 computer. Both computers are running the newest version of itunes 11 (downloaded yesterday). I sign in and turned on home sharring with the same user id and password. For the first 20-30 mins it worked perfectly, I could open her library and she could open mine and we could download songs from each other with no issue. We closed both computers and about 2 hours later turned them on to try again. Now my computer (Windows8) always shows up on hers but her computer only shows up about 1/2 the time for me, and half of that time if you click on her computer it says loading then stops and her computer has disapperard again. I can eventually get it to work after many turning off and on of home sharring but it take about 15-20min each time to get it working. Is this a problem others have seen? Does anyone know a solution?

This issue has now been completely resolved with the introduction of iTunes 9.2 Everything up and running again - thank you Apple! (Still an issue with Dictionary app/Wikipedia not functioning correctly, this has not been resolved)

Home sharring not working.

My home sharing wont work. I'm supposed to have it on four different computers and it wont work on any of them. I've tried everything. Help please

Got new iTune update, instaled on my home server 2008 r2, as I had the previous versionon here. Now with the new Itunes my home sharring is not working when it use to work fine on the older version. However this works fine on my Laptop on windows 7, Iam guessing the new Itune doesn't support Server ? Or is there some thing i need to do. Can Apple Help me ?

Family share not receiving notification as organiser

I have Iphone 4 and my son who is 12 just got iPod touch. I set up family sharing on his ipod. He is getting notification 'ask to buy" when downloading apps but I as organiser am NOY getting notification. Presume this is because I have iPhone 4. Cannot delete my son from family share as under 13 PLEASE help my son very disappointed he cany download apps or music!!!!

I have the same problem but I am using an iMac as the organizer. My daughters new iPod does prompt her to ask to buy which she clicks ask but I never get notified. I opened a case with support and they said its a known issue they are working on but I have my doubts they will be very helpful.

Does family share function work with the family members in China?

I have two family members who use iphones in China. I wonder if family share works with them overseas. Thank you.

If you have iChat 3.1.8 then you are past Panther and on Tiger and can multichat if your computer is good enough (G4/1ghz single processor or above)
Yes it is compatible with iChat 4 (and iChat 2 for that matter).

Share not working on 10.0.6 or 10.0.7?

Share is not working for any of my projects, I am using latest OS X and latest iMovie 10.0.7.
I select "share" and then any of the icons in the menu and no further windows are displayed.....nothing.
I have corrected all permissions on all disks, I have restored iMovie library and Theater library.
Has any one any idea as to what is blocking "share' post icon selection?

I have found a workaround solution. I have set up a new user account on my iMac and logging into this account and using iMovie and the same iMovie Library I can share! This will work for me until a proper solution has been found. I clearly have a problem with my Admin account and using iMovie library with the share function. Before deciding on this workaround I corrected all permissions etc, even restored OS X, but to no avail. Enough time has been wasted. Apple need more robustness in the iMovie code involved with rendering and sharing and when things do not work much clearer messages etc to give a clue as to what files are involved in the failure. Just allowing the program function to hang is not good enough.

Directv media share not working with S4(4.4.2)

Directv media share is not working on my S4. The phone is recognized but is unable to share media. Function worked fine with Droid Razr Maxx HD.

If the same exact app and code works with 4.0 with the same ForeignKeyDeleteAction setting, I suggest that you open a case with support.

After working great why will my home share not work on my iphone and ipad mini

I had been running home share on my iphone great. I share a music library with my wife. We just bought an ipad mini and i was messing around with the ipad and set up home share, however it would not work. I tried logging out of my iphone and re connect and it will no longer connect. I have not been able to get home share to work on the mini.
I have browsed all the feeds, but not getting anywhere.

Family sharing not working for music on Apple TV

We have Family Sharing set up and while we can see each other's purchases in Movies and TV shows we can not see our shared music.
Does anyone know how to view each other's music purchases on the Apple TV?

In searching for shared music with Apple TV I found this.
Which purchased content can I share using Family Sharing - Apple Support
If you turned on Share My Purchases, you can share most content that's also available in iTunes in the Cloud. You can share Music, Movies, and TV shows from the iTunes Store. You can also share Books that you downloaded from the iBooks Store, and apps from the App Store. The availability of each content type depends on your country.
There are a few things that you can't share:
Songs added to iTunes Match from outside the iTunes Store
In-App Purchases
Items that are no longer available on the iTunes Store
Items that were hidden
Apps that aren't shareable
If you're on an Apple TV, you can't access shared music.
So it appears there are limits.
