Family sharing allow all free app downloads

I  recently activated Family Sharing, but it is a big hassle to keep approving all downloads, including Free apps. How can I allow my son to download free apps, and require approval only for paid apps?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Touch the app and hold your finger down until all the apps start to jiggle.

Tap it to delete an app.
When done press the Home button.

  • Can family sharing be used for apps bought on PC iTunes or ios6?

We have various (free and paid) apps bought either on iTunes for PC, or on an older iPod Touch running ios6.  Will these apps be available on other iDevices if I set up Family Sharing on an iPad running ios8?  Can the PC or older iPod Touch be linked to the primary account for Family Sharing?

If the app, book or movie was purchased by a member of the family, the content is available to all members of the family. You have one person that is the head of the family, provides the credit card. Any other family members purchase content such purchases must be approved by the head of the family.

  • Can I have 2 apple id simultaneously(one contains all paid apps, and other has all free apps) in the app store of my ipod touch 4G?

See, I have 2 apple id one has all paid apps in it (this is my dad's id) and the other apple id has all free apps in it (this apple id is mine!) So, I just want to download a few paid apps using the first apple id (my dad's apple id) and then again switch back to my id...If I do this, will there be any issues related to licence as I have not paid for those apps from my id!!

Apps are tied to the Apple ID, so you can't use apps from different Apple IDs on one device.

  • How do I set up family sharing if all my family members emails are already associated with my iTunes account?

I want to set up family sharing but it won't let me because all the emails are already associated with the one iTunes account we have.  I am afraid to delete because my children use that email address for text messaging.  How do I set up family sharing if all my family members emails are already associated with my iTunes account?

    Hey Wendaroski,
I am not quite sure what you mean by "my family members emails are already associated with my iTunes account" but what you need for each family member is an Apple ID. Yours would be the one for your iTunes account.
If the other members of the family already have an Apple ID you can invite them to join the family group. If not they will need to create one, using their email address. This article shows how -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account?

I am unclear what Family Sharing means.
Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account?  Or simply that we can all see each other's streams.  As it stands now, I understand we can share streams, without having family sharing enabled.  Basically, I want to know if we can be logged into separate icloud accounts yet share photo and document storage as we currently can with dropbox.
I want to share photo storage and file backup with my wife.  Currently, we both use her apple id to make store purchases and have our own icloud accounts.  This solves some problems, but I still have old itunes purchases(grant you fairly old at this point) that I cannot access when I am logged into her id.
I realize we could both use our own icloud account and upgrade storage individually, but this fails the economy test.  We have roughly 60 gb of family photo storage, so we would both need 200 gb plans.
we both have ipads and iphones.  i simply want us each to be able to take photos and have them automatically saved to one storage solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Shalom

The only way you can see the contents of an iCloud backup is to restore it to an iOS device. You could restore it to your new phone -- but that would mean you would first have to erase your new phone so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing of value on the new phone. In theory you could backup the new phone, erase it, restore from the old and see what is there and copy the photos to a computer and then erase it again and restore it back from the new phone backup. I would emphasize that is at your own risk as restoring from backups do not always go as advertised. More info: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud

  • HT3702 Itunes charged for free app download (Update).

Itunes charged for free app download (Update). No clue why this happened. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

If you mean the temporary store holding charge, as described on the page that you posted from, then that is only temporary, it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
That 'charge' is made each time that you change your card details to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account.
If you mean a 'proper' charge, and it appears on your purchase history and on your credit card, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • History of free App Downloads?

Is there anyway to find out the history of the free app downloads?  I know you  could go to the market, however that doesn't update frequently, and am concerned my child is downloading unacceptable content and deleting it frequently.
I understand I am able to go to parental controls, however that isn't an option at this point.

I don't know of any way to capture that information after the fact. However, it is possible that the administrators of the market keep a record of downloads. Presuming that your child uses a device with the Android operating system, please launch the Android App Market on your child's phone, press the Menu hard key on the bottom of the handset, then select "Help". You should see a "Contact us with your questions" option. Select it and choose your preferred communication method.

  • App store won't let me download apps but wont let me reove billing info for FREE app downloads.

I cannot download apps anymore. Free apps. I used a card of mine that had a few dollars on it to purchase two games that were 99 cents. I had close to three dollars. But now I cannot update or download my apps thanks to a SEEMINGLY bad billing account. Thanks, but its not bad. There is enough for it to be taken out, and still have money left in there. I've done the math. But because of this issue, I can no longer download free apps, nor update the ones I have. Nor will my account allow me to REMOVE my billing info. Can someone help me out please?

If you were trying to use a debit card then they I don't think that they are still accepted in all countries,or your card issue may have declined the purchases. Do you have a different card that you could try so that what you owe can be paid, or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you can redeem one onto your account - if iTunes thinks that you owe money then you won't be able to download anything until what is owed is paid, or you've contacted iTunes Support and they've agreed that you don't owe anything

  • New phone, family sharing music all gone

    Hello all,
I just replaced my wife's phone.  We are both on iOS8.  I set up family sharing and I am the organizer.  When I set up her ID on her last phone we went into purchased music, movies, etc. and downloaded them to her phone.  When I replaced her phone today and restored from a iCloud backup, no music or movies are there.  With family sharing will my wife how to re-download music and movies every time she upgrades phones?  Do we have to go back through the long process of weeding though all my purchased albums etc.  I would've thought that once she downloaded everything she wanted once, iCloud would keep it all intact.
    Any info is appreciated!
    Bob

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If other music is not on your computer or iPod it is gone.

  • Will family sharing allow multiple Apple IDs to backup to the same Mac?

So currently, my family shares one Apple ID so we can share purchases.  We also share the same iCloud account.  I think that technically you can share one Apple ID for purchases and use multiple iCloud accounts, but that seems confusing.
Anyway, so my wife is getting a new iPhone soon and would like it if we didn't see each other's podcasts in the Podcasts app, etc, so I'm wondering if, now that we have family sharing coming, it would be a good idea for her to get her own Apple ID.  However, we have one "Master iMac" that serves to backup all the iDevices in our home and has our shared family library of music, movies, etc.  If she gets her own Apple ID, will she still be able to back her new iPhone up to this iMac or will she be forced to use her iCloud account for her phone's backup?  iTunes on the iMac uses the current Apple ID, which we all share.
Apple IDs have consistently been the single most frustrating thing for us and the approach for sharing one ID has worked well.  I wish Apple had come out with Family Sharing years ago.  Anyway, now I want to make the transition as painless as possible.

I apologize, but my grammar and spelling were full of errors They "received" iPad minis...
And I am afraid that they will "lose" (not love) all of their data.
    Thanks.
