Family sharing data needs to be changed

An apple id has been set up for my child, but the incorrect birthdate was mistakenly entered.  As the adult, I am trying to set up Family Sharing on icloud, and it shows my child listed as an adult.  How do I change the birthdate to reflect he is a child?  When I log in as his apple id, and go to the "password and security" section, I answer the security questions.  When I go down the the "select your birthdate" section, and try to change it to the correct date, hit save, an error says "You cannot change your birthdate at this time".  I have logged out and logged back in a few times to try again, to no avail.  How can this be corrected?

Try changing it to 1/1/2001.  That particular date tends to be accepted, and will convert it to a child ID.  I'm not sure why Apple isn't allowing people to enter the correct birthdate.

  • Default key date, Document date and posting date needs to be changed automa

    Hi Experts,
The user wants to create a variant for Foreign currency valuation, wherein the default key date, Doc date and Posting date needs to be changed every month automatically. Is it possible?
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Warm regards,
    Murukan Arunachalam

    Hi
    Please follow this process.
Only specify fields that should be changed
Select these fields by entering an X in the checkboxes
Enter a U in the UPDATEFLAG field
Always specify key fields when changing the data, including in the checkboxes
The configuration is an exception here. If this needs to be changed, you need to complete it again fully.
Maintain quantities and dates in the schedule line data.
    1. Minimum entry:
You must enter the order number in the SALESDOCUMENT structure.
You must always enter key fields for changes.
You must always specify the update indicator in the ORDER_HEADER_INX.
    2. Commit control:
The BAPI does not run a database Commit, which means that the application must trigger the Commit so that the changes are read to the database. To do this, use the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT BAPI.

    Hi,
Are you talking about changing the Apple ID used for purchases in iTunes? If so go to 'Settings->iTunes & App Store-> then 'tap' on the Apple ID that appears and click Sign Out on menu that appears. You can now login with a different Apple ID.

  • HT201058 How much iCloud data do you get using Family Sharing?

If I add both of my daughters to my Family Sharing, how much iCloud storage do we get between the 3 of us?
Is it worth joining ID's, if we only have 5GB to share between us, considering we are all using over 4GB each now.

I would also like to know how I can merge a Apple ID with another ID?
I set up my daughters ID's about 3 years ago, but I had to add 10 years to their Date Of Birth, else I could not get them ID's. Now when I have added my daughter to my Family Sharing, it states she is an adult, and it will not let my change her DOB. Apple says I have to setup a child ID within Family Sharing.
So, can I change a Adult ID to a Child ID, or merge a Adult ID to a new Child ID?

  • How can I Migrate/Split itunes/icloud account for a large family now that they have family sharing

Ok, now that Apple has finally come out with family sharing I need to get things sorted out and I think it is going to be a mess. I have 6 family members (my spouse and 4 children) all sharing/using one itunes account. For parental reasons this made perfect sense. Now with the the advent of family sharing and such we have alot of sorting and migrating to do and I am very unsure how to go about it. Here is what we have.
    Myself - I have a 64GB iPad 3 and a 64GB iPhone 5
    Spouse - 64GB iPhone 5
    Children - x4 16GB iPhone 5C (pink, blue, green, and a yellow)
We have had one itunes account now for several years, we used to have x4 16GB iphone 4's and a 16GB iPod touch 4 so we needed it to be shared at the time. We all have different Game Center ID's and Facetime/iMessages are all setup to the phone numbers (aside from mine which also uses the itunes e-mail). We currently have 1 upgraded icloud account with 200GB of storage on it (love the new tiers). So here are the questions.
    1) How do I go about using and isolating all the devices so they can all use the iCloud storage? Right now if I try and setup backups by device under the what to backup there is no simple "Full Backup" option, they have all the categories separated. I cannot backup my daughters contacts without forcing a merging of them and so on. Same thing with Documents and Data. Would I need to setup a different iCloud account for each device now?
    2) iTunes Music/App purchases. Now that they have a family sharing function I am assuming it would be a good time to separate all the devices (aside from my personal iPad/iPhone). If I understand correctly we need to setup a new itunes account for each and link them with family sharing, does this then allow us to disperse/move items from a singular to the multiple account (at least a one time option to move around) or would it simply be shared off the original account? My daughter for example will be 18 next summer and as such no longer under our care. How do we move her items to her account? She has a lot of purchased Music. Now keep in mind I am talking about an account for someone who was 12 when she had her first device and as such needed to be under her parents.
I just want to state that repurchasing things is NOT an option, and to be frank,  according to Canadian laws pertaining to *licensing* we actually own the product if we paid for it and have the right to transfer the ownership thereof. This issue went through the courts regarding used copies of OEM editions of Microsoft Windows several years ago and they closed the legal *license* vs ownership separation.

Go to appleid.apple.com to manage the ID, sign in and select to the Name, ID and Email Addresses section, then change the birth date on the bottom right.  At the present time you may not be able to enter the correct birth date, but others have had success changing the year to 2000, or the date to 1/1/2001, both of which will have child ID status.

  • "Set up Family Sharing option" missing from iCloud settings

I'm trying to set up a child (under 13) via. my Apple ID/iPod touch.
There is no "Set up Family Sharing" option when we go to Settings > iCloud.
    What do I do?

    Hi Elliot,
Happy Holidays! To set up Family Sharing, you need to have iOS 8 on your iPod touch.  Check to see if you have updated to the latest version, which is 8.1.2 on your device.
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-is/ht4623
iOS software updates introduce new features that let you do even more with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Be sure to keep your devices up to date so that you don't miss out on the latest features.
    Before you update
Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes.
If you use your device's Personal Hotspot for your computer's Internet connection, update your device wirelessly or connect your computer to another network.
    Update your device wirelessly
The easiest way to update your device is wirelessly, also called “over the air.” Here’s how:
Plug in your device to a power source.
Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Tap Download and Install. Updates might download automatically while your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a power source.
Tap Install, or tap Later to install the update later. If you use a passcode, you'll need to enter it before installing the update.
If you have some free space, but not enough to update over the air, you can either update using iTunes or delete content manually from your device. Whether you use iTunes or update over the air, you'll have the same amount of free space on your device after you update.
The resource below explains how to set up Family Sharing and how to create an Apple ID for your child.

Start or join a family group using Family Sharing
Family Sharing makes it easy for up to six people in your family to share each other’s iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases without sharing accounts. Pay for family purchases with the same credit card and approve kids’ spending right from a parent’s device. And share photos, a family calendar, and more to help keep everyone connected.
Use the steps below to start a new family group or join an existing family group. You can be a part of only one family at a time.Get started
Here's what you'll need to use Family Sharing:
An Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes
iOS 8 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch or OS X Yosemite on your Mac
    Start a family group
One adult in the family—the family organizer—can set up Family Sharing for the group. When you set up Family Sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file. Valid payment methods for setting up Family Sharing include credit cards and debit cards.
    Set up Family Sharing
Use these steps in iOS 8:
    Go to Settings > iCloud.
Tap Set Up Family Sharing, then tap Get Started.
Confirm that you want to be the family organizer and that you're signed in with your personal Apple ID.
    Follow the onscreen instructions.
Use these steps in OS X Yosemite:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
    Click Set Up Family.
    Follow the onscreen instructions.
After you set up Family Sharing, you can invite your family members to join.Invite people to join your family
Use these steps in iOS 8:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Family > Add Family Member.
Enter your family member's name or email address.
Follow the onscreen instructions. After you send the invitation, you can check its status under the person's name in Settings > iCloud > Family.
Use these steps in OS X Yosemite:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
    Click Manage Family.
Click +, then follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also use these steps to create an Apple ID for a child and add them to your family group. When you create an account for a child, you must use a credit card as the payment method as part of providing your parental consent. After you create the child's Apple ID, you can change your payment method back to a debit card if you choose.Join a family group
You can accept or decline an invitation to join a family from you iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. If the invitation is sent to your email address, you can also respond right from your email. To accept an invitation in iOS 8, go to Settings > iCloud > Invitations. In OS X Yosemite, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Manage Family.  Then follow the onscreen instructions.
Here's what you'll be asked to do when you join:
Confirm your Apple ID and password.
Choose if you want to share your content and which iTunes Store account you want to share from.
Choose if you want to share your location. If you agree, your location can be displayed on family members’ devices in Find My Friends and Messages, and the location of your shared devices will also appear on family members’ devices in Find My iPhone.

See what you can share and how to download content from your family members. You need to use the iTunes Store in the same country as your family members to use Family Sharing.
Choose when to share your location with your family members.
Learn about family purchases and payments.
Manage your child's account and use Ask to Buy.

Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to Ask to Buy.

  • Family sharing and iTunes credit

    hi all,
my partner has set up family sharing and I have joined it. I understand that one credit card is used for all members (although I think this somewhat daft). My problem is that I only ever really use iTunes vouchers. I have just trie to purchase a film and it is telling me the family sharing organiser needs to authorise my purchases for the joint payment method. Firstly I don't want to use the joint payment method, my iTunes credit covers the cost and secondly I don't want to have to wait for someone to accept something every time I want to make a purchase, but I do want to share my puchases. Is there any way around this and when she accepts it is it going to use my store credit?
    thank you for your comments.

This is my account info for iTunes & AppStore:
This is the payment info in iCloud Family Sharing settings:
Obviously I was able to change the payment info in iTunes/App Store. What do I have to do to make that carry over to iCloud?

  • Can't use Paypal with Family Sharing?

I have my iTunes account set up to take money out of my Paypal account.  Trying to set up Family Sharing in iOS 8 but it's saying "Paypal is not supported on this device."
    What's up with that?
If I want to use Family Sharing I need to change what account my Apple ID is connected to?

If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

  • Family sharing catch 22

The family uses a number of Mac´s and also a Mini connected to our home theater system. All i all 4, people, the kids are grown up now which means that they have their own Itunes account (pay for themselves) and have bought movies in each account. All members of the family has a separate account on the Mini.
Then we want to use one movie from one of these 4 accounts in the Mini. The mini is authorized as connected to one of the other members of the family. If you move the file from the local computer to the Mini, it will be stopped and authorization to the Itunes account will be prompted. However if we go ahead doing this it says that the computer will be authorized and cannot be changed again in 90 days! OK, running 10.9.5 does not allow family sharing but if it was available that would mean that we have to change so that one of the persons in the family pays for all consumption in Itunes, and we don't want that. We want all family members to buy for their own purchases as they have been used to for years.
So, in the end, it is not possible to allow multiple users in one family to view their movie purchases in Itunes on the home theater, it will only be possible to view one of the members movies!
Why is it not possible to just login with your own account on one computer without authorization to the physical client? We have bought the movies so we should be allowed to decide how we want to use it? Why is family sharing restricted to have one of the accounts paying, why could there not be an option to let all pay for themselves?

    Why not use Home Sharing?
    Understanding Home Sharing - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819
As for Family Sharing you need to think into the subject.  There is no official statement as to all this sharing business but you can bet at the end of it the media companies do not want unlimited sharing of media.  All these sharing methods are likely compromises.  If Family Sharing allowed sharing between any 6 people with no real definition of family (in this case somebody who is willing to pay for purchases for somebody else) then you could share media with me as part of your "family".
Another thing to keep in mind is both Yosemite and iTunes12 are coming down the line and there could be new developments there.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Concerning the issue with multiple Apple ID's, please look at the following:

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud.

  • Family Sharing together with iTunes Match

How can iTunes Match be used together with family sharing on e.g. the iPodof a child?
When the child wants to use the App-Store over family sharing, it needs to be logged on in iTunes with the childs account - but then iTunes Match can't be used from the Parents account.

I am very interested in this as well. I don't think there is currently a solution but I think (hope) it is something that Apple will enable in the near future. Let Apple know that this is a feature we want! Send feedback here:

    I just did.
