Family Sharing for child with existing Apple ID
I'd like to enable Family Sharing, including Ask to Buy, for my child who has an existing Apple ID. How do I do this? The default is to treat every family member as an adult, with no option to specify as child.
This doesn't work. You are basically changing the birthday to make them 13. Not creating Child IDs with real dates.
For those of us who created Apple ID for our kids, before family sharing existed, by creating accounts and NOT PUTTING IN THEIR REAL BIRTHDAYS. Since you couldn't create IDS for kids back then. So now my kids REAL emails are LOCKED into a ADULT ACCOUNT. There is NO WAY to delete and account and start over. I cant create a new CHILD ID because their emails are already taken.
You should be able to CHANGE and ID to the proper under 13 date, then use the CC verification to prove I'm a (******) adult. Or at the very least DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AND START OVER.

There should definitely be no issue. You can register more than one Apple device with the same Apple ID and get the same apps on both devices without having to pay for the apps again.
Alternatively, if you want all your settings to say the same, do a backup of your old iPod Touch and then whe you receive the new iPod, restore the backup on it and it'll save you the trouble from having to redownload everything.

I've set up family sharing for my wife and kids. Currently all the devices are set up as me and linked to my email address and phone number. how do i separate them onto my wife's email / mobile no and then separate my kids (all under 13) so they can use Facetime etc? thanks!

Under iCloud family sharing for iTunes is a family member other than the organizer able to make purchases?
Any member of the family group can make purchases, but they are all charged to the organizer's credit card. For children (under 13) you can also enable Ask to Buy, and their purchases will require your approval (see Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids).

As I said in subject I cannot to set family sharing for my family. When i open to iCloud section in settings it says "There's no family information". Why ?
Yes, to clarify - we get a message that says "(he) is already a member of the Family"... but on my iPhone, it still shows that he is not, ie. that the invitation is still pending acceptance.
A bit more detail - when I enter his name (or even .me email address) at the 'Add Family Member' screen on the iPhone, the system will not accept it. ie. I enter his credentials, hit 'Next', and it does not progress to the next screen...
Bizzare. And he's the one who really needs to be enrolled, not so much my wife - who is successfully signed up!

How can I get updates for apps with new Apple ID. I have apps that I got for free, and some that I have purchased. I had to create a new Apple ID because I don't have a credit card now.
Apps will always be tied to the ID in which they were purchased or downloaded under. You can not change this unless you buy or download the free app using the new ID.

Family sharing for the store account
instead of showing up for the store account, family sharing is showing up for my icloud account and there seems to be no way to enable family sharing for my store account unless i use the same as my icloud account. both are @icloud.com accounts.
please let me know what can be done.The list of apps keeps growing and now include Pages and Pinterest. Interesting to note, the issue happens on both my iPhone and iPad but it's not specific to apps. Meaning, Pages won't update on the iPad but my phone seems to have no problems updating it. Anyone?

I just created a new Apple ID for my son (under 13 so could not have an account until new), as part of the new family sharing option in iOS 8.0.2, and I want to transfer the Game Center account he was using to the new Apple ID. I see in Settings > Game Center it has the option to login into an Apple ID but not Game Center separately. How do I get the new Apple ID to use the old Game Center account he was using?
There is no way to merge or transfer anything to another AppleID. The App Store license also specifies that purchases cannot be transferred.

and if i want to create a "child" account from my iPhone, with an iCloud mail it's not possible because her iCloud's account already existe...

I am trying to set up family sharing and have added my daughters easily but when i try and invite my husband it says we cant as he email address is already associated with my apple id. How can i set him up to use family sharing?
Go to Settings/Messages. Tap on Send & Receive, then on Apple ID. Sign out, then sign in with his Apple ID and password.
After doing this you will not be able to use iMessage for your own messages. -

In order to edit an Child Apple Id you can just go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and log as your daughter and edit all data (except id itself and birthdate). This is possible only if you know the password :-) even without knowing, the recovery procedure is working fine.
In my case:
- I created an Child apple ID (as described in Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids), child is -13y
- As mentioned in Leave Family Sharing : "Children under 13 can't be removed from a family. If you need to, you can transfer the child to another family or delete their Apple ID". ok, fair enough. Then I want to delete the id... But I cannot find where the delete option is available ???
