Family Sharing in iOS 7/8

I turned on family sharing in iOS 8 beta 1 on my phone and my wife's phone then a few days later i decided to go back to iOS 7.1.1 however now our apple ID's are stuck in this "family sharing" which i can't seem to turn off because it didn't exist in iOS 7. How can i turn it off without having to reinstall an iOS 8 Beta?

Will there be a way to merge iCloud accounts for family sharing in iOS 8?

My family of four has 5 Apple IDs. Each of us has a personal one that we use for mail, contacts, and calendars and we all share an Apple ID for use with the iTunes and App Stores. This way, we can all currently share content without having to buy it four times. However, Apple has solved this problem in iOS 8 with family sharing.
My question is how should I handle this with my current lineup of Apple IDs. I know there's currently no way to merge two Apple IDs into one, and I don't want to just transfer my credit card to my personal Apple ID, as I will lose my purchase history. I know I could add my current "shared" ID to our family account in iOS 8, but I'd like not to have a duplicate of myself. Any advice would be appreciated!

It's not necessary to merge the iCloud and iTunes Store accounts. The Family Organizer should use their own iCloud account when setting up Family Sharing. You'll also be asked to supply the iTunes Store account you want to use to share music, movies, apps, etc., with your family during the setup process. It appears Apple has already addressed this common problem.

I have two apple ids for one child in Family Sharing. How do I delete one?

I have the same question. I'm about sick of reading people referring me to the above link that King refers to. Primarily becuase it does NOT address the question at hand. That question is "How do you delete a child Apple ID?". I know I've seen that you can not remove adult ones, but apple does not you "can" do it, but doesn't show "how" to do it. In my personal case, I need to delete the one I made and create a new one. This is because having an incorrect child apple ID in my family share takes 1 spot away from my sharing. I need to remove the child ID from my share plan to create a corrected apple ID for her. The above linke King posted states,
"Children under 13 can't be removed from a family. If you need to, you can transfer the child to another family or delete their apple ID." Now..the phrase "child to another family" is hyperlinked and clearly shows how to do this. But the "delete their apple ID" is NOT hyperlinked. So we continue to search for our original answer that I haven't found since iOS 8 was released and I bought my iphone 6 on release day.
Now on that topic, the family share is messed up HARD for children. Heres why, while I wait to find out how to delete the incorrectly typed apple ID I made, I tested how it works for my 6 y/o, who was very excited to get her own iphone 5 (w/o cell cervice, glorified itouch).
1.) While testing it out with the bad ID, I created the family share as the ogranizer. I then added my wife and made her a Parent/Guardian". Howver, despite this, when the "child" ID requests permission to purchase something in itunes, it only sends it to my wife and not me. This shoudl go to both parents! If you want one or the other, make a setting. Otherwise, if its flagged as an organizer or parent, they should have the power. After all, as the organizer, she was verified as MY child through my credit card but I can't authorize the purchase as the organizer. Do what? Come on!
2.) When my daughter asks to buy something, she has to put in a password. This is simply nuts. My 6 y/o needs to put in a password for PERMISSION to ask her parents to buy something. Of which the parents then authorizes the purchase via either a password or fingerprint scan. What non-parent thought this up?
3.) To update an app on my daughters iphone requires her to request permission for each and every app, despite there being an update all. This means, she has to put the password in on every...single...update...individually. Update all does not work. This means we need to authorize each update too...My God...really?
4.) On the topic of passwords. Again, CHILD account ID. Apple requires passwords to be 8 characters, has to have an upper and lower case, can't be a simple word, has to have a number. I mean..lets sit and think about this. a CHILD with such a complex password needing to be entered each time to update an individual app and ask permisison. If its a child, it means the responsibility should be put on the parent. Have the OS route the request to ME and let me put the password in for my child.
5.) Whats the point of Auto Update? I mean, if I APPROVED these apps to go on my daughters phone, then it should AUTO UPDATE itself! It does not! Really?
6.) How can apple advise in the FAQ's to delet the apple child ID but doesn't hyper link to it? Is someone really that dense? It sure scares the DEATH out of me to try apple PAY! >.<
7.) As I sit here looking at my family share settings, this very second, and I look at my daughters ID in there (the incorrect one I need to fix), there is nice itty bitty language on how to transfer an apple ID and a hyperlink there. This is a GREAT spot for DELETE APPLE ID! You know, I even logged into apples main management Apple ID section...you can't even delete the ID there either.
8.) The WHOLE point of the family share is so you can share up to 6 people. BUT, if you try to download prior purchases on the new account's, you get an error message saying that this was previously purchased BUT you are unable to download it (For what ever reason) on every one. Thank GOD I realized I can manually FORCE the crap onto her phone by pushing it from my desktop computer to hers.
I mean...how can a "high tech" company be so obtuse? If you can't get CHILDREN policy right, how will your Apple Pay policy work out?

Does each device in a family sharing group have to have its own Apple id?

When setting up the Family Sharing does each device have to use its own apple ID? I have 6 devices (each person has an iphone and ipad) I was wondering if I would have to have 6 different apple ID's. Also, is there really good step-by-step instructions on how to set it up anywhere?

No, if a family member has multiple devices, they can use the same ID on them.

Family Sharing help

Now that we have Family Sharing with iOS 8, what is the best way to handle existing purchases/content?
Previously I had an iTunes account that my Wife and Daughter were also using. We were using the same iTunes account across multiple iPhones/iPads and computers.
Now I have setup Family Sharing. I am using my iTunes account as the master, I've created a new iTunes account for my wife, and created a new iTunes account for my daughter (<13). Our corresponding devices are configure for the correct iTunes accounts.
All good at this point!
Now we all have different music tastes. Any new purchases will be added into each persons individual iTunes account (& devices) and if we want we can access each others iTunes content. Awesome!
What about stuff that was purchased prior to iOS 8 Family Sharing, that was purchased under my iTunes account? Ideally I don't want it in my iTunes account, its music that my wife and daughter are into, but not me! Can I move iTunes content out of my account and into theirs?
If I turn on auto download etc for my iTunes account on my devices, then I get all of their music too , which I don't want on my devices.
I'm hoping that Apple can do a one-time only move of content to satisfy this problem that is now introduced with family sharing. If so, going forward with Family Sharing will be 100% complete!

unfortunately you can't transfer/move anything from one account to another.
Family Share does need some tweaking and the best way to let Apple know this is to send them customer feedback.

Family Sharing Bugs - Anyone else getting this

Hi all,
Like many of you, I excitedly reset my entire family's universe of iPads & iPhones to take advantage of Family Sharing when iOS 8 was launched.
We previously shared one master id for iTunes and iClouds (sharing photos, storage and iTunes purchases), with separate IDs for iMessage.
I have managed to set up Family Sharing but I have not managed to get it to work.
From the "master" account, I have successfully invited 2 "subsidiary" accounts on 2 separate devices. I can see the sharing has been switched on both the "master" device as well as the two "subsidiary" devices in Settings > Family for each device. Changes to the toggles here (Parent / Guardian and Share Purchases) can be successfully toggled on and off with a corresponding change in the other devices so at least these settings appear to be updating correctly.
However:
- I cannot see any of the shared music in either the Purchased section of the ITunes store (message is: This iTunes account is not set up to use Family Sharing)
- I can see apps purchased by other Family Share members ("master" or "subsidiary") but cannot update or download any apps (message is: Redownload unavailable with this Apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled, or Update unavailable for the same reason)
Solutions I have tried (none work:)
- Switching each device on and off
- Signing out and back in again on iCloud and iTunes on each device
- Toggling "Automatic Download" on the APP switch on and off in Settings > iTunes & App Store
- Toggling "Parent/Guardian" on / off in Settings > Family for each member
At a complete loss - any help appreciated.

I have very similar problem, but it appeared only after few days after installing most apps to my wife's iPhone. When I first installed, all worked as it should but then all of sudden I started getting the "Redownload unavailable with this Apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled". Recently, it also shows "Unable to download, your family must have a valid payment method.", which is ridiculous since I as family organizer am purchasing apps/music normally.

I want to setup family sharing on my macbook pro

I have a Macbook pro running 10.9.5 and i was invited for family sharing from one of my family members, i got the email and everything and when I click View Invitation it takes me to this website https://www.icloud.com/family_sharing/ and it doesnt give me any other options. How can i get it to work???

Can't use Paypal with Family Sharing?

I have my iTunes account set up to take money out of my Paypal account. Trying to set up Family Sharing in iOS 8 but it's saying "Paypal is not supported on this device."
What's up with that?

If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

Im trying to remove my daughter temporarily from my family sharing on IOS 8 but I cant see the option.
I read you tap on the ID but nothing is coming up.
Any ideas?

Use family sharing, but make purchases with individual credit cards.

I am curious if there is any way to use Family Sharing for iOS 8 with multiple credit cards.
My parents have there account attached to their credit card, and my brother and I have our accounts attached to our credit cards respectively.
We want to all be in one family to share out purchases, but when we go to creat it, our parents card is the only card that can be billed. Itunes effectively forgets about the other credit cards on file.
We want to be able to share with the family, but we also want to make purchases individually.

The only way to do that would be to redeem iTunes gift cards to the individual accounts. Gift cards redeemed will go to THAT specific account, and would be usable by only that person for purchases. The gift card balance would be used until it is gone, then it would revert to the organizer's credit card.

Stop family sharing:
Settings> iCloud>
Tap the Family icon
Tap the organizer
Tap "Stop Family Sharing"
To Leave Family Sharing:
Stop family sharing:
Settings> iCloud>
Tap the Family icon
Tap your name
Tap "Leave Family Sharing"
