Family sharing members unable to use payment method

I have set up family sharing and I am the organizer. My credit card shows as the "shared payment method." I have invited other family members who have accepted. But when they go to make an app purchase, the device asks them to put in their payment information. They do not have any payment information in their apple ID profile, but I they SHOULD be able to use my credit card. Why does it keep asking the for payment/credit card information rather than just charge my card? Thank you

birdseye - I can see you were able to make that upgrade just this morning. Hopefully you're back enjoying your Premium already.
seatuttle - You should be able to change your country settings to the US with either a credit card or with your PayPal details.
When you go to your subscription page you should see a link that reads: "If you intend to use a payment method from a different country you need to change your country".
If you're not seeing this option to upgrade from another launch country let us know. Attaching a screenshot of your subscription page would be a great help.

On your Mac, try to access your gmail account. There should be a link you click for "Forgot My Password". Click it and try to retrieve your password.

• Payment through using payment method "W"

Hi All,
We have to create a report for bank integtration and our client is using payment method "W" Bank Transfer Domestic.
Can anyone let me how we make vendor outgoing payments through bank using the payment method "W" what is the transaction to be used and where we have to give "W".
Thanks!
Z

Zia,
I believe the error is clear enough for you to interpret. You are trying to use a "Bank Transfer" payment method in a transaction that creates "Checks for Payment".
Here's what I suggest:
- if you have to use F-58, your choice of payment method is wrong. "W" is usually domestic transfer, while F-58 woudl rather use "C" or "D" or "E", or a similar method, depending on what is configured in your system for your company code / country
- if, on the other hand, you have to do a "domestic transfer" as suggested by the payment method "W", then your choice of transaction is wrong. Use regular F110 after creating a vendor invoice, and specifying "W" as allowable payment method in the vendor master record.
Trust this helps you to identify the exact problem and resolve it.
Remember to assign points if found useful.

• Can't set up Family Sharing...requires new payment info

I have an Apple ID and it is fully set up to bill my PayPal account for iTunes and apps purchases. I just checked PayPal and my account is in good standing.
I tried to set up Family Sharing on the Mac. I did System Preferences->iCloud->Set Up Family->Continue->Continue->Continue.
I get the dialog "Add a payment method to enable Family Sharing. Family Sharing requires a valid payment method. Add a payment method to “[email protected]” in your iTunes account." If I click Add, it throws me into Safari and show that I have a PayPal account as my Payment Type.
So, I'm completely stuck since the iCloud panel keeps asking me to set up a payment method and I already have one. I even tried reconfiguring the PayPal account as the payment method.
Is this Apple being insidious and not accepting PayPal since they are a competition to Apple Pay?
When I look at System Preferences->iCloud->Account Details I see an expired MasterCard. How do I get rid of that???

Hi Double E,
Family Sharing can only be set up from a Mac running Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or an iOS device such as an iPhone running iOS 8. See this article for reference -
Family Sharing - Apple Support
So you could set up the Family Sharing from your son's iPad using your Apple ID. See this article for how to sign in with a different Apple ID -
Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Note that the Ask to Buy feature of Family Sharing requires the person approving purchases to be using either Yosemite or iOS 8. See this article -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

• I wish to share my entire existing iTunes library-not merely purchased materials-with Family Sharing members. How do I do this

Family Sharing. iPad ios. v. 8.1 to iPad v. 8.1. How do I share entire content of iTunes library with family members?

You can't connect directly to the external drive, but should be able to use iTunes Home Sharing via the laptop.

• Family sharing, how to set default payment to none.

why can't I set my default payment to none in family sharing? I'd like to only us gift cards. Makes no sense. Gives my family a free pass to purchase whatever they want.

I'm pretty sure higher access superceedes, so you could set up a group with no actual access, just to get the preferences working, then their individual security will dictate what they can do. I haven't tested this fully, but I beleive this is how it will work.
As far as setting the preferences, go into the admin console and right click on the group, then select Preferences. To apply the group preferences to a user, add the user to the group, then right click on the user, select preferences and from the upper left corner, use the drop down to select the active preference, in this case, it will be the group you created and added them to.

HTH

• HT5625 How to setup Family Sharing if you have use a 2nd AppleID with the App Store & iTunes

We would like to turn on Family Sharing for the 2 of us but we have 3 active Apple IDs.
Shared Apple ID - used to buy things in iTunes and the App Store
My Apple ID
The Wife's Apple ID
The logical move would be to merge the iTunes Apple ID into my Apple ID then set myself up as the primary. Next invite the wife.
Merging isn't allowed. Not sure how to handle this.
Maybe set myself up as the primary and invite both the Shared and Wife Apple IDs to join?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Also, you should be able to redownload via iTunes on the computer. See that method included here:

• Family Sharing: Can it be used to back up multiple phones to the same iCloud account?

With the Family Sharing feature of iOS8 & Yosemite, is it possible to back up multiple iPhones automatically to one iCloud account?
My family needs a way to automatically back up their iPhones. It would get really costly and otherwise problematic to equip each of us with iCloud accounts just so we could back up our phones automatically. If Family Sharing enables us to do these automated backups to one iCloud account, then I'd go ahead and upgrade my iCloud account to the 200 GB iCloud storage allotment.
However, if I do this, does this give my 11-year-old access to my iCloud email account, contacts and other personal information? I imagine that the Family Sharing tool should be able to manage this, but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks.

I do know that if you have separate iCloud accounts you can share with your children what you need to. I encouraged my daughter to do that for her 2 kids she bought iPads for Xmas. Instead of using her account like she had been doing with her old iPhones the kids used, she created new iCloud accounts to take advantage of the 5 gig for each account, otherwise just 2-3 devices ***** up that 5 gigs immediately. She then set up what she wanted them to have access to, and it worked out perfectly!
I myself was thinking of doing the opposite of what you inquired about and doing what she did with her kids, but for myself. I am thinking about created a separate iCloud account then share with myself what I need to so I can gain 5 gig storage by using separate account on a couple devices.

• When on family sharing how can I use the credit on my account instead of the family credit card?

I have a credit of $5.90 that already existed before being added to family sharing. The only pay option is the family credit card, and not my existing credit. I want to finish up my credit first. How can I do this? I've tried on my iPad, my iPhone, and they don't work. I decided to try my laptop and still no use.

Hi,
Are you talking about changing the Apple ID used for purchases in iTunes? If so go to 'Settings->iTunes & App Store-> then 'tap' on the Apple ID that appears and click Sign Out on menu that appears. You can now login with a different Apple ID.

• Cannot share Free App with my Family Sharing members

I am using iPhone 5s and bought iWork App (Pages, Number and Keynote) for free while iOS 7 launch in 2013. Recently, I upgraded to iOS 8 and enabled the "Family Sharing" with my wife. However, my wife who is using iPhone 5 with iOS 8 could not find the iWork Apps from her purchased list. How could I share these apps to her?

You can share your connection to the Internet, PROVIDED, you have different medium to share it on.
Example: Your computer is connected via Ethernet cable. You can share your connection via WiFi.
IF your computer is already connected via WiFi, it makes no sense to attempt to share via WiFI -- just use the WiFi directly on your Phone. If the other devices are too far away, move your Router closer to them.

• Family sharing: members can't see others' purchases

As the head family member, I can see my family members' purchases. But they can't see any shared content. I double-checked the Family Sharing settings and we are all listed under each device. Each person is signed in with the correct id. Sharing is set to "on." I tried logging out and logging in again, downloaded a free app, but it's still not working. Please help!

Hi magnetic197,
Lets see if we can get your content to show up on your Family Sharing account. Take a look at the article below for some additional troubleshooting to what you have already done to get it to show up.

• Unable to Update Payment Method

Hi,
I have a Skype number on my account. The annual auto-recharge on this subscription failed because I changed my bank card number a while back. However, I was unable to change the Payment method on your site – I added a new, valid, card and every time the browser got back from Visa, said “An internal error has occurred.” So then I added PayPal as a method, and then set the payment method to that, and although I did not get any errors, I am still seeing the warning all over the place that my Skype number is expiring in two days. Can comeone please contact me as to how to verify that my payment method has been changed successfully, and how to make the re-charge happen again before it expires?
Thanks,
Garrett

I'm having a similar problem... I go through the process of changing my payment, by doing as instructed, to 'add payment'....... I put in my info with new credit card updates and test it (I know it works as I activated it at the bank directly), it fails... States internal error. Hope I'm not getting charged for the 'testing/verify' every single time!! This website is insane - you become like a rabid dog chasing it's tail. ARound & around. Nothing. No help. Wasted well over an hour of time & I'm sure about to have a stroke with my frustration/anger level. Skype hasn't even been working well lately with dropped calls constantly after a couple minutes, then stating each call lasted over 205 minutes!! EVer since Microsoft took over, Skype seems to have gone to crap. Time for app builders to invent another? Even falling apart Skype could make it easier by simply adding an 'update edit' for existing credit cards info, for simple updates with new cards. It's not rocket science.
Anyway, if anyone could be of any REAL asssistance (perhaps real moderators if they exist), other than more and more useless instructions that go around & around in an endless circle, that would be GREAT! Thanks in advance.

• Unable to add payment method / "Please select a payment provider"

Hi, been using spotify premium/unlimited for many months now and never had this problem. When trying to renew the subscription the following message appears: "Please select a payment provider". However, it doesn't let me do that as usual and the following message appears: Change payment method
You are currently registered as being in Country pt. If you intend to use a payment method in another country, you need to change your countryto match. Also, can't change the country (and it's listed Austria for some reason, i'm from Portugal). Can you please help me pay? Thank you.

Is it just me, or billing services are down?
My credit card expired, and now there is no way to update payment info. Page https://pay.skype.com/ccstorage/home?reset=1&order_id=[removed for privacy].... never opens.
