Family Sharing or shared iCloud it's one or the other.

Before iOS 8 my wife and I shared one appleID for purchased content and for icloud shared data such as numbers and pages docs. This also allowed us to have synced calendars, reminders, contacts, photos, etcetera. She and I both have an iPhone and an iPad. Her devices were linked together so that iMessage and FaceTime were synced. For mine, I made a new appleID and signed in only to iMessage, FaceTime, and Find my Friends. This allowed our devices to share the "main" appleID and icloud for obvious reasons. Then having separate "idenities" for our messaging and find my friends. Now with family sharing enabled, I can't get to my original icloud data because to have a separate "identity" I have to sign in as a different iCloud login. If I use our shared original icloud account, find my friends now sees all 4 devices as the same person. Just giving you the choice to "share my location from each device". This is very frustrating. Apple please allow me to opt out of family sharing on find my friends, or allow me to have a separate iCloud for data only that can be used on all my devices.

it's not that simple of a thing. The Firewire output has about a 5 frame delay. If you were to monitor the audio from the computer speakers and watch the video through the deck on an external monitor you would think your audio was out of sync. And if you could hear both there would be an echo effect from the delay. The DSR-11 is a pain ( I have three) because there is no screen like the 25 and the 45. Best thing to do is have a television or monitor hooked up to the DSR-11. If you don't have that option, at least you can plug headphones into your DSR-11 to hear the sound. But you have no confirmation about the video without a monitor.

Family Sharing not showing Organizer's Purchases for other family members

I have enabled Family Sharing on my device as the Organizer and added my wife's Apple ID to my list of family members. She has accepted the invitation on her end and we both see each other in the Family Sharing list within Settings->iCloud->Family Sharing. If I go to the App Store (remember, I'm the organizer), and I choose Updates->Purchased->Family Purchases (choosing my wife's Apple ID) I can see all the apps she's purchased. It won't work the other way around, though. If she goes to the App Store and tries to view my purchases, she gets a blank screen.
I have already checked to see if I'm hiding purchases, I'm not. In Settings->iCloud->Family Sharing->Me, I have Share My Purchases enabled. I've signed in and out of iCloud, and she's done the same. I've confirmed my Apple ID, and she's done the same. We can't figure it out. Why in the world is she a part of the Family Sharing group, but we can't get it so she can view my purchased apps?

I have the same issue. I can see my wife's purchases but on her phone, it says that I have no purchases. I also tried If you don't see your family's shared content - Apple Support and disabling family sharing and re-inviting her. I would also like to know how to fix this.

Oops, I forgot a step between 7 and 8 ... before syncing the iPhone I need to explicitly send the document back to iTunes on the iPhone, or the changes won't come over at all ...
and then one more thing ... Numbers on iOS does NOT recognize a number of key features of the OSX app, such as conditional formatting ... so after editing my document on iOS and syncing it back to OSX on my Mac, all of those settings are lost (no more conditional formatting, have to do it all over again)

Family Sharing setup on both phones but the purchased songs do not show on member's device

So I set everything up with both my phone and my wife's iPhone. All the devices are updated to iOS8. I set up Family Sharing, my wife accepted it. The family calendar works perfectly. BUT the music in (iTunes Purchased) that are listed on my phone do not show up in the my wife's phone. Everything is accepted but when I go to Music in her phone, I do not see the items I have purchased. I can see the 155 songs she has purchased, but I do not see my 255 songs that I have purchased and appear on my phone. Seems like I'm missing something here. Any thoughts ?

Also, when I go to Purchased in the iTunes Store I do not see any family member (wife) for me to browse their collection.

Are you talking about changing the Apple ID used for purchases in iTunes? If so go to 'Settings->iTunes & App Store-> then 'tap' on the Apple ID that appears and click Sign Out on menu that appears. You can now login with a different Apple ID.

I have 2 Apple ids and two corresponding iCloud accounts. My five Apple devices are linked to one or the other. As one consequence a small number of my contacts are associated with one iCloud account, the majority with the other. How can I merge?

For reasons not entirely clear to me I have ended up with two Apple ids, two iCloud accounts and my Apple devices being associated with one or the other iCloud account/Apple id. One of the complications is that my contacts are partially owned by one iCloud account, partially by the other.
Is there any way to
- merge the contacts (I have tried exporting from one and importing into the other but one set will overwrite the other)?
- migrate all devices to one single iCloud account without being locked out for 3 months?
- merge Apple ids or just delete one of them without locking out devices?
Grateful for any suggestions because this is turning into a headache.

You can merge the contacts from one account with your other one without overwriting them. Sign into the first account, download them as vCard (iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard), email them to a device signed into the account you want to merge them with, tap the vCard and choose Add..., then Create New Contacts.
You can also migrate a copy of the data in one account and merge it with the other by signing into the account you are leaving, then signing out (or deleting the account if not running iOS 8), then choosing Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign into the other account and choose Merge when prompted. This won't move Notes however. If you are syncing notes that you want to migrate from the other account, you can temporarily add the account to your Mac as a secondary account by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (or Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the other account ID. Then enable notes syncing in the secondary account. You will then be able to open the notes app and drag and drop notes from one account to the other. When you're done, delete the secondary account from your Mac.
You can't merge IDs as Apple does not allow it. Also, you won't be locked out of anything for 3 months. The "90-day switch" rule only applies to changing your iTunes store account, not your iCloud account. Just leave your iTunes store account as-is. The ID you use for the iTunes store does not have to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.

Don't spend a lot of time trying to change it. It's an iCloud problem that's happened before, and when it happened in August it went back to the correct colors in a few days. Just be careful when you add new items to the calendar to use the right calendar (even if the color is wrong), otherwise you'll have things out of synch when the correct colors come back.

Very strange behavior. Don't entirely give up on the "Manually Added Items" category ... I have seen things magically appear there even after I've checked and seen nothing there. I think things got real quirky when Apple released iCloud ... I don't remember extra copies of purchases lingering on my iPhone once transferred to my library before that. Sure, if I bought an album directly to my iPhone it would stay on there even after I sync to my library, but if I deleted the album from the iPhone it stayed deleted. Now it seems that there are some phantom copies that come and go with no explanation.

If you're re-downloading an album to iTunes and your iPhone, that may perpetuate the problem. What happens if you completely delete every copy of the album, then just download to your iTunes library and then sync the album to your iPhone from your library? That should put only one copy on your iPhone.
A few other things to try:
1- Completely sign out of your Apple account on your iPhone, then re-sync to iTunes, then sign into your account on your iPhone again. Maybe throw in a Reset or at least a power OFF/ON somewhere in the middle.
2- Go to Settings/ General/ Usage, then select Music and when you see All Music, swipe your finger across it and tap the Delete button. Before doing anything else, Reset your iPhone. This does not actually delete your music, but seems to clear up some cobwebs left behind (people use this technique to reduce "Other" that swells up over time).

Splitter Chooses One or the Other

Hello! Sorry in advance if I use the wrong lingo. Hopefully everything makes sense! So my family recently decided to expand dvr/cable onto our second floor where we have a nice new TV. We have DVR downstairs and got a box on the second floor that allows us to access that DVR. Everything works well and good with the only cord coming out of the box besides the power cord being the coax cable that comes from the wall. However, while the Wi-Fi works in some rooms on the second floor, others it goes at a snails pace if it even works at all. To solve this, we got a wireless extender from verizon and, when plugged straight into the coax cable that comes from the wall the improvement is tremendous. We get about 50 mbps download speed in rooms we only got 10 before. Needless to say, we want to have the network extended working on the second floor. However, when using the provided splitter in order to access cable/dvr capabilities and the wireless extender, the splitter only works on one or the other. That is, when we plug the coax cable from the wall into the IN port on the splitter, if we plug a coax cord from cable box into the splitter before the extender, we get cable and dvr/guide features but no extended wireless, and if we plug the extender in before the box we get the extended internet signal but no dvr/guide features on the cable. This is really frustrating because at present we would have to abandon the splitter and switch coax plugs everytime we want to use internet in one of the hard to reach rooms and hope no one wants to use the DVR/cable at the same time. For some more information, our splitter is a MoCA 2.0 2-way splitter (PDI-2wwb-2.0/5-1675 Mhz) and our wireless extender is an actiontec WCB3000N. In summary, we are using a splitter currently on our second floor to allow a 2nd verizon cable box and a wireless extender to operate simultaneously, but at present when they are both connected only one or the other is connected to the network. I am assuming this may be a problem with our splitter, but from what I've read it sounds like the one we have (named above) should be bidrectional. Can anyone please help? Thank you!

Hi and thanks a lot for your message! I went through the box system information like you suggested, and the pictures below are a sample of what came up when I tried your methods. I did end up powering off router, extender, stb and turning on as you suggested with no luck (even after waiting a loooooong time before plugging the next one in!) Below is what came up when I plugged straight from wall coax to box (first picture), from coax wall to splitter to cable box, with extender coax also plugged into splitter and turned on after the cable box (second picture), and if the extender is plugged in first, then the cable box (third picture). Hopefully these photos shed some light on the situation. What's important to note is that I followed every step of your instructions in terms of plugging the coaxes in one-by-one. However, despite refreshing everytime, the screen generally looked like picture 1, with minor variations in the TxRate (plus one or two occassionally) aka there didn't seem to be much difference between the connections. The only significant change I noticed upon plugging the extender in was the EMM data became False, but I am not sure what that even means. Also, after extender was plugged in first and the stb second, it wouldn't even allow me to access the system information Info screen because of no data connectivity. It would just show the small box (picture 3) and ask if I wanted to troubleshoot connectivity issues. (troubleshooting was no help) Please let me know if these pictures can help make sense of this! It seems that you have to choose one or the other, keep iMAcc addresses or iPhone.

Indeed you can merge the address book using iCloud. You can find the info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3998. I am not sure if you can de-duplicate though.
If that doesn't work or you want more out of your address book, you can always try connex.io (I work for the company). It's a service that automatically syncs, deduplicates, cleans and updates your address book across many different devices and services. If you want to try it out, you can get a free trail version at www.connex.io.

I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
1. DS: 0FI_AP_4 replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).
