Family sharing set up not listed as an option in icloud settings on new ipad.

Please help.
I have set up family sharing for my childrens' ipods with no difficultly.
My wife has a new ipad which does not list family sharing set up as an option in the icloud settings.
I have sent her an invite via email. The email has a link which says 'view invitation'. The link shows a page instructing to 'open your invitation in the Mail app, and click the view invitation button in the message. This is possibly the most stupid message I have ever seen because I could not have seen this page without clicking the 'View Invitation' link! There is no option to do anything from this page.
The ipad operating system is updated. She is signed in correctly and has icloud on.
Please can someone explain why the option for family sharing is not listed in the new ipad.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

When you say you do not have the setup option for Family Sharing, that seems like you log into the iCloud System Preference but the "Set Up Family" button is not there.
Is your Mac updated to Yosemite?

iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality.

The "Sharing" part of Family Sharing refers mainly to purchased content. iCloud synced content such as Notes and contacts as well as documents is not included. While I do not know of anyway to share notes, iWorks documents can be shared directly from the app via an iCloud link.

HT6389 How do family members in Family Sharing download a Not Shareable App for their own account?

I have downloaded an app (Uber) in the past, but my wife has not. I set up Family Sharing with my wife. Uber is set as a Not Shareable app, and the problem is that my wife can't download the app even when she goes to it in the app store. It shows the iCloud icon as if she already downloaded it, even though she hasn't, and she gets an error when trying to download it. Turning off Family Sharing also did not solve the problem (although I did not wait that long, and maybe I need to wait longer after disabling family sharing). But there should be a better way for her to get the app than switching off family sharing.

Thanks for the responses. I actually ended up turning off Family Sharing because I found this to be really annoying, and for other reasons. I was able to download Uber for my wife from iTunes on her PC laptop with Automatic App Downloads turned on on her iPhone.
The other problem I'm having, and the reason I switched off Family Sharing, is with store credit. I have a lot of gift card credit on my account, but when my family makes purchases, the gift card credit is not deducted first before charging my card. Not sure if there is a way to change that but I couldn't figure it out.

Family Sharing, iTunes Account NOT Apple ID

I'd like to turn on Family Sharing.
However, it seems the only way to turn on Family Sharing is through my Apple ID on my iOS device
Settings > iCloud > Family Sharing
The issue I have is that my iTunes and App Store purchases are not using my Apple ID. I created a different ID (long time ago) for iTunes. So, all my purchases are with this ID, not my Apple ID.
For example: on my iOS device
Settings > iCloud > [email protected]
Settings > iTunes & App Store > myitunesid (there is no @email.com associated with this ID)
All my iTunes (music and apps) purchases are with myitunesid ID, not with [email protected] ID.
I'm assuming if I active Family Sharing with my iCloud (actual Apple ID), there won't be any purchases associate with the account. Nor will there be, as long as I keep using the myitunesid account.

Yes, in fact it's recommended that you do. you can create separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs and still share the same iTunes ID (the IDs do not have to be the same). You should also use separate IDs for iMessage and FaceTime to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls. Using your individual iCloud IDs for iMessage and FaceTime will accomplish this.

I am unclear what Family Sharing means.
Does family sharing mean all photos are backed up to one icloud account? Or simply that we can all see each other's streams. As it stands now, I understand we can share streams, without having family sharing enabled. Basically, I want to know if we can be logged into separate icloud accounts yet share photo and document storage as we currently can with dropbox.
I want to share photo storage and file backup with my wife. Currently, we both use her apple id to make store purchases and have our own icloud accounts. This solves some problems, but I still have old itunes purchases(grant you fairly old at this point) that I cannot access when I am logged into her id.
I realize we could both use our own icloud account and upgrade storage individually, but this fails the economy test. We have roughly 60 gb of family photo storage, so we would both need 200 gb plans.
we both have ipads and iphones. i simply want us each to be able to take photos and have them automatically saved to one storage solution.

The only way you can see the contents of an iCloud backup is to restore it to an iOS device. You could restore it to your new phone -- but that would mean you would first have to erase your new phone so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing of value on the new phone. In theory you could backup the new phone, erase it, restore from the old and see what is there and copy the photos to a computer and then erase it again and restore it back from the new phone backup. If you go into Edit > Preferences then on the General tab on the popup that you get you should be able to select which types of content 'show' - tick the box against 'Books' :
Books then show under your 'Library' - if you select it, are those audiobooks listed there ?

If you disassociate the device from your AppleID and tie it to another one, you cannot use yours to control the other. They will be separate and independent. For better or worse, the AppleID authentication and authorization model was not designed with kids in mind.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Sorry, I can't tell what it is you're trying to ask. What does the warranty have to do with your intention to return the iPad (to whomever) and get another one?
There's no way to deactivate a warranty.
The warranty transfers with the machine, has nothing to do with the owner.
Look around in the Support pages, you can figure out a way to type in your serial number and see what your current warranty status is.
