Family sharing without a credit card and using I-Tunes card

i Do not want to enter one of my credit cards into my Apple account, my wife, daughter and myself always just use I-Tunes cards to buy stuff. Is there any way to have family sharing without entering a credit card? I just don't feel secure putting it in my account.

Hy, I live in Belgium, and there are different methods of verifying your identity and age (electronic ID card) and furthermore it is not for my children I want to set up family sharing but for my wife and me and she is certainly of legal age. On the other hand, my eldest is 14. So what is the problem with identity certification as all the Apple ID s I have created (for my wife, my mother, my stepmother and several other adults in my entourage happened without credit card, but with an iTunes card). The use of credit cards is not as common in Europe as in the US.
what could be a solution to this problem ?

This article explains how to make changes to your iTunes account. You will ultimately select "none" as your payment method when you get into your account, but read this for the details.

When you start to use the iTunes gift cards, you need to swipe to the bottom of the screen in iTunes or the App Store and tap on "Redeem" in order to enter the card info.

  • Can I use family sharing without a credit card

I want to set up family sharing in iCloud between my account and my dad's since we have separate accounts. Problem is, one of them needs a credit card and my sister tends to make purchases from iTunes cards that weren't for her. Can I set up family sharing without using a credit card? I have a friend who used his parents credit card and one day, they got a $500 bill from iTunes on purchases they didn't make. The account was hacked somehow and the last thing my parents need is to have one of their cards hijacked again.

Apple suggests that in this case you add with a credit card then switch back: Start or join a family group using Family Sharing - Apple Support
"When you create an account for a child, you must use a credit card as the payment method as part of providing your parental consent. After you create the child's Apple ID, you can change your payment method if you choose."
Annoying, but presumably there are technical constraints that make this difficult. I hope they'll fix at some point but this at least means I can set it up. I don't use a credit card but I have one around that I can use to at least set up the accounts.

I want to use family sharing but can I use it without having it on a single credit card? it seems like an awesome concept but we don't want to have to make purchases on one cardF

Can I change my verizon SIM card to att sim will it work on my ipad 4th generation wi fi+4g

Theoretically, yes. However, you'll only get 3G speeds. You won't be able to use 4G LTE.

    Hi Saramos,
When setting up Family Sharing you must have a credit or debit card as your payment method. See this article for reference -
    Family purchases and payments
When a family member makes a purchase it will be billed to any gift or store credit that they have first. If none exists it will be billed to you.
As the family organizer, you may not set your billing method for purchases to anything other than a credit or debit card. If you have a store credit such as from pre-paid cards, it may not be shared with other family members. See this article for reference -

  • When we purchase from iTunes the balance is not coming off of the gift cards. We have family sharing on but when my kids purchase songs they are credited to our credit card and not the gift card that is already in their account. What's wrong?

    Hi judifrom!
I have some links for you that can help shed some light on the subject of gifting through iTunes and Apple IDs. The first can be found in this link:
    Gifting - Apple Store (U.S.)
    http://store.apple.com/us/help/gifting
and the relevant information in that link can be found right here:
Gift Cards and Certificates are valid for use only in the country in which they were purchased. Only residents of the U.S may redeem gift certificates purchased in the U.S.
You can still help them set up an Apple ID without payment information so that they can download free items through the iTunes store though. The steps for performing that can be found in the following article:

  • Using family sharing, how does one view and download songs from a family member's collection in itunes?

Using family sharing, how does one view and download songs from a family member's collection in itunes?

When you click on your device you are presented with the pages
    Summary
    Info
    Apps
    Tones
    Music
    Movies
    TV shows
    Books
    Photos
To remove Audiobooks depending on the type of Audiobook ie a series of mp3 files you will find under music and probably have to deselect the album name to remove it. I don't have any of these as I download from Audible or I use Audiobook Builder to stictch together mp3 files into m4b files. To find these Click on Books you will immediately see a section for books (in reality ebooks). Scroll down past that and you will see Audiobooks where you can select and deselect. Deselect the required Audiobooks and Click Sync

  • HT201209 I have a credit card listed, but no longer wish to use credit cards.  I went and bought some ITUNES cards and have redeemed them, but it's not letting me delete my credit card info and use the ITUNES cards!!!  What do I do? I'm getting so frustra

    Question~
I am currently using a Credit Card for payment methods on the ITUNES store.  But my sons are now using it also, so my husband thought it would be best to delete the card and buy ITUNES gift cards instead so we dont have to keep loading this card.  But it's not deleting my information. I redeemed the cards already and says that I have a balance on my account.  But when we try to purchase something it takes me to the billing screen and it says there is an issue with a previous purchase because the card was declined!  What do I do??  Someone please help.  Thanks so much!

  • If I do not have a credit card binded to my Apple ID, will I still be able to redeem and use iTunes gift cards?

If I do not have a credit card binded to my Apple ID, will I still be able to redeem and use iTunes gift cards?

How did you create the account ? Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
If you didn't use those instructions then you will need to enter card details (you should be able to remove them after entering them), or create a new account (and use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it).

  • HT201060 Is there no way to do Family Sharing without unified billing?

It looks like Family Sharing has some other nice features beyond shared purchases. Is there no way to enable Family Sharing without having a unified billing? I'd love to enable it for my extended family but I don't want to pay for everyone's apps and things.

    Making purchases
After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
