Fan above Processor makes whining noise in 3000 H 105 M/T-8823-5AQ

I am having 3000 H105 series Desktop  M/T-8823-5AQ  in which fan above the processor makes whining noise when i use any heavy software or play Games. Also at the same time the CPU usages will reach to 90% -  100%. Please help my friend told me there is a problem in fan. And it may affected the Processor. The processor present in my desktop is Intel(r) Pentium D.
Anyone's ideas are greatly appreciated and welcomed.

This is not a problem, as the CPU fan varies its speed depending on the heat load of the processor, and one problem with variable fans is that they are quiter at low load and when it gets to high speed than the noise goes up exponentially, especially the OEM fan like yours. You may fix the problem by getting heat pipe design heat sinks from manufacturers such as ASUS, etc. These fans have a lower noise design large capacity fan, also the copper pipes have better heat transfer properties.
The pentium D processor use 2 pentium 4 CPU, so you can imagine the heat output of these processors, the large heat output from Pentium 4 is the major drawback of this design and premature abandonment by Intel for the far more energy efficient Core Duo and Core 2 Duo designs. If you are game enough you can try to poach a egg on specifically made heat sink on a Pentium D processor, which is not advisable.

  • Fan starts to make loud noise when watching youtube videos

Hello there, I have been having a problem with my Macbook Pro for a while and I hope I can find some help here. My Macbook Pro has the problem that when I am watching youtube videos and I have the fullscreen option on, if the video is lasts, say more then 4 min or so, then after a while the fans start to kick in and they keep getting louder and louder for no reason.
It also does this sometimes when I open the spotlight to search for something, although that hasnt happened as much lately. But this is really getting annoying, I mean, why would a simple video from youtube, make the mac go all crazy as if I was rendering or exporting video, its nuts. I have all the updates installed too.
I also went to an Apple store, and of course when I try to show the person the issue I have, the macbook pro works just fine! Its somewhat random. I told the guy that I have Applecare and if they could just hold onto the machine and test it out themselfs and the guy tells me, that I have to pay THEM for this service if they dont find anything. What the? Is it my fault if the issue doesnt come up during their suposed testing time? What if they just dont do anything to it, and then say they dont find anything, and im suposed to pay for this even though I have Applecare? There must be something wrong.
Anyway, I really appreciate any help and guidance I can get on this issue. Btw, my Macbook Pro is the second generation one, the one with Intel Duo Core 2, 2.33 ghz, 2 GB ram and the ATI video card. I also recently ran Disc Utility from the install disc and I repaired some issues on the HD, but its still the same.
Thank you for reading and (hopefully) responding to this topic.

Thank you for the replies. I have just downloaded the iStat Widget and I noticed that the fans were at about 2800-2900 rpm and the sound wasnt noticable, I then played a youtube video that lasts for 5 min, although already on the 1 min mark the fans were getting louder when running in full-screen mode. I then checked iStat and it peaked at around 5994 rpm. I then stopped the full screen viewing and it went back to 3000 rpm after a while, and now it seems to be locked at 2400 rpm.
What I dont get is, why is it that when I play videos from my hard drive and watch movies, even in full screen mode, it doesnt get near 5990 rpm at any point, at least I dont notice any loud fan sounds. Although that has happened when I watched a HD video from my desktop that lasted about 6 min, but the fans didnt go as loud as right now.
Also, a few days ago, I was playing a small flash game on the net, and I got the same problem with the fans as with the youtube videos. I read that youtube uses flash, is this right? Could there be something on this? I have downloaded the latest flash player version though, so I dont know whats going on.

Archive the material via airport utility (old v5 not v6).. to a USB drive of suitable size for all the data.
Do this before the TC dies. Once dead you will have no choice but to repair it.. or to open and remove the HD and put it in a holder.

HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop makes continuous "none stop"  loud whining noise. This happens when the computer is on and only stops if it is shut off.
The noise is very frustrating and just never goes away.
I googled for clues and read that proplems with the processor power management, something to do with AMD but the explaination were not clear and I don't want to ruin the computer. Here is a link to what I read. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=192213
The sound is mainly coming from the left speaker area. So I disabled the sound card but the noise continues.
The fan appeares to be working well and no over heating.
Any clues as to how I can make this stop?
    Thanks everyone.

The fan is so loud that when I have people around me they always ask me what's wrong with my computer. I bought it about 2 years ago but the warranty was only valid for a year and the fan problem got really bad after a year so there was nothing I could do about it. My old Toshiba, which is now more than 5 years old and which I had given to my brother after buying the HP, is still going strong and its fan, even during a hot summer day and while running some rather powerful graphic application on it, is never as loud as the fan which is normally on at all times on the HP. Besides, right after buying the HP and diligently doing all the updates that were recommended by HP Health Check, it died and I had to send it back to HP but because I was outside of the US, at the time, I had no computer for weeks until I returned to the US, got a free box from HP, shipped it to them and got it back. It didn't cost any money but it was a big hassle and not a very promising sign of future problems to come. Good luck to everyone who will buy an HP computer in the future. I am going back to Toshiba.

  • "Processor" Preference Pane and whining noise

I used to have a TiBook, which worked fine. Then I bought a MacBook Pro as soon as it was announced, and I was stuck with one of those models that had the high-pitched, whining noise:
It seems that this noise was coming from the Intel processor in the "naps" it would take. After a year of complaining, Apple finally accepted my computer for repairs and soved that issue.
In the meantime, my mum would use my old Titanium PowerBook and at some point (after some MacOS upgrade???) that one would start doing precisely the same whining noise, too.
The funny thing is that I also noticed the Control Panel exhibiting an additional pane, called "Processor", whereby you could inhibit the hissing and whining noise by unchecking the "allow nap" button. Strangely, I don't have that control panel on my MBP (why?), even though we both have 10.4.11. If I uncheck "allow processor naps", the whine stops, but the computer vent goes off often, which is equally annoying.
So does anyone know the story of why at some point the PowerBook G4 would start having that whining hissing noise? (About the same time when my MBP was cured of it?) And most of all: does anyone know how to return the TiBook to its original state?
(I posted something on the TiBook forum recently, yet the discussion was helpful but inconclusive there:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6199028#6199028 )

    Hi,
I can't comment for most of your questions (as I don't know ) but:
Strangely, I don't have that control panel on my MBP (why?), even though we both have 10.4.11.
The processor panel is added when you install the OS X Developers tools - I assume you didn't install that on the MacBook Pro.

Some of what you are writing is bogus.
    > Do Not Open a bunch of Applications and try to work with several applications and work with them all at once.
Exactly why not?  The Mac is supposed to be a professional machine - it has a robust multitasking system.  If you have enough memory, you should be able to open quite a lot of applications at once.
Of course, if you run out of memory, you're going to start swapping to disk every time you switch applications, which will be slow.  And of course, if you run multiple applications that are actually active at one time, you're going to run out of CPU power.
But you should be able to have quite a lot of applications open at one time without seeing any significant degradation in performance.
    > Remember when ever you download ANY APPLICATION (Software) always restart your computer after the download it will then activate the new software and make it work properly.
That's completely ridiculous.  Indeed, that's why I signed in to comment on this post.
Why should you *restart* your machine just because you downloaded an application?  (Me: software developer for over 30 years, writing commercial, cross-platform applications that run on Mac, Windows, Linux... so I'm reasonable knowledgeable in this area...)
A few applications install something that requires a restart (very few in 2013).  If your application needs this, it will tell you to restart.
You're not doing anyone any favors by spreading falsehoods.  Please refrain from making claims like this in the future unless you have solid evidence.

  • Satellite A660/15J High-Pitched Whining Noise

I have had a Satellite A660/15J for 3 months, running 64-bit Windows 7. The machine emits a constant high-pitched whining noise (rather like the sound emitted by early CRT television sets). The source of the noise appears to be the CPU (it is definitely not the cooling fan or the HDD). Is this a well-known problem? If so, how do I make it stop?

Since when do you notice this behavior?
I can only say that friend of me has Satellite A660 but without any strange noises. The notebook is quiet, only the fan makes some noises if its running.
For me it sounds like a hardware malfunction but before you contact an authorized service provider you can try to solve it yourself by updating the BIOS. This can be found on official Toshiba website.
If it doesnt help I would contact the ASP. The guys can answer you if its normal behavior or not.

  • Z30i - does it make _any_ noise?

I am looking for a totallly (or as close aspossible) monitor with width 2560 and prferably 30" and 1600 high, so the z30i is an option. But I want a quiet monitor. So my question is:
Does the z30i make _any_ noise?
If it does, what kind of noise, and if known what cuases it?
BTW: I have sent this question to HP technical support from the web site and it was aknowledged 5 days ago, but haven't got any reply yet. Is this typical?
    Thanks,
    Yehouda Harpaz

    Hello Yehouda.
Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are wondering if the HP Z30i monitor produces noise. I will try my best to provide information on this.
I have personally worked on this monitor in the past, and others I know have as well. This monitor does not making any more noise than your average monitor. The monitors can produce noise sometimes are those with things like built-in speakers, or fans (for example).
Now, as an accessory, you can purchase with this monitor an LCD Speaker Bar. This might make a little extra noise if not taken care of. More information about this can be found in this monitor's quick specification page: HP Z30i 30-inch IPS Display
I hope I have answered your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • MacBook Pro makes strange noises

My MacBook Pro recently started to make strange noises like an elecyticity cable was sparkling. Today I closed the screen to move it and started to make a greater sound like an old ventilator when I opened back then it went into sleeping, can somebody tell me what is happening?
    Thanks

I think I had the same problem as you on a 13" MBP. After the grinding noise, did your laptop suddenly make a really fast whooshing sound? If that's what you're experiencing, there might be a broken ball bearing in your fan. In that case, you have to take it to an Apple Store and get that replaced.

  • Applecare expires, and here comes a strange whining noise!

There's an annoying whine coming from the left fan area on my MBP near the adapter port, and the left fan seems to be running more than usual. The whine tone seems to change depending on what I'm doing. For example, when I scroll up or down in my browser it goes away but returns when I stop. If I use the dock, the pitch changes.
My MBP was the first generation to feature the Core 2 Duo, so it's a few years old now. I upgraded to Snow Leopard a few days ago. No major problems other than that both my fans running more than normal for a day or so. I've heard that this was common for those that upgraded to SL on an older MBP. Did my get overworked?
This whining noise is very annoying, and of course my Applecare just expired a week ago....
    Any ideas out there?

"No major problems other than that both my fans running more than normal for a day or so. I've heard that this was common for those that upgraded to SL on an older MBP."
I've had no fan issues since updating to to SL. Where did you hear about this "common" problem?
See if resetting the SMC helps.

According to the cardboard insert inside the SL disc cover, you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support from Apple. Suggest that you give them a call.
If your problem turns out to be hardware related I would give Customer Relations 1-800-767-2775 (US only) a call. See what they can do for you if AC expired just a week ago.

  • Interesting finding about the whining noise

    Hi,
I have like many others here a new MBP 2.0 with the whining noise. I have spent 2 to 3 hours those last 2 days with several support persons struggling for having the repair box shipped to me as repair seems the only option for me (I dont want and cannot wait 3 weeks more to get another MBP). FYI they were unable to take care of my correct address....Hmm not very good.
I have also done two interesting tests today:
    1) I am part of the ADC and can have access to the latest builds of MacOSX. I have downloaded the current 10.4.6 build (8I1113) and installed it on another partition. I confirm that in this build, the whining noise is still present on my MBP.
    2) I have also tested the Ubuntu Live CD (http://www.mactel-linux.org/wiki/Main_Page) and I was REALLY surprised not to hear any whining noise after ejecting the CD from the superdrive.
So my gut feeling is that the whining noise is probably a software issue rather than a hardware issue.
It could be interesting to get some feedback of people running Windoz on the MBP to check if they have also the whining noise in that case.
    Any feedback ?
