Fan error 90b message on start up

Getting fan error 90B message upon startup.  Says computer will shutdown in 15 seconds, or hit enter to proceed to login.  I cleaned the vents with compressed air...the fan is running and air circulating, and even chatted with tech support and upgraded BIOS as suggested by them.  Still getting message, but computer seems to working fine.  ANY IDEAS???

  • "Error -42032" message when starting up iTunes 10.2

Immediately after I upgraded my 15" MacBook Pro to iTunes 10.2 a couple of days ago I began getting this error message whenever I started up the program. After dismissing the error message iTunes seems to work fine. It's more of a nuisance than a major problem, but I'd like to resolve it if I can. Any ideas out there?
    Regards, Jim
PS - the 10.2 upgrade works fine on my 24" iMac C2 Duo.

Looks like I found the answer to my question.
A colleague on the DealMac forum pointed me to an article at Ars Technica (http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=83766) which suggested that the problem lay in the invisible folder /users/shared/sc info. After making invisible files/folders visible using TinkerTool, I copied this folder to a work file on my desktop, trashed the originals, and then put the copy back. Voila! No more error -42032 message when starting iTunes!

  • HP Pavillion g4 notebook pc fan error 90B

Please help, I have tried to do the hard reset, and that didn't work This error comes up at startup. Fan Error 90B, fan not working properly. Can you please tell me what to do? Also tried cleaning the fan from the outside of the laptop. Have not used canned air though. I did suck the air out with a vacume hose though. Alot of dust came out! But the error is still there. Laptop is not under warranty anymore..

  • Fan Error - T23

I get a FAN ERROR when ever I start up my T23.  All the status lights come on but the machine does boot.  I usually need to try starting it several times in order to get the machine running.  Is there an easy fix for this?

If it sounds and feels like the fan is properly spinning up (no obvious grinding noises and airflow is venting out the left side of the system), then I would try replacing the CMOS (backup) battery. If that doesn't solve your problem, then I would have to say that the next step would be to download a copy of PC Doctor for DOS for the T2x system. If you don't have a floppy drive handy to make those diskettes, then I host an .ISO file which has the same version in it. Once you boot the T23 with PC Doctor, select the "Other Devices" entry under "Diagnostics" and run the "IBM Fan" and "IBM Thermal Sensor" tests. If those pass, then I guess the next thing to try would be to swap out the fan assembly.

  • Fan Error message on T43 after replacing it.

I have a T43 (2687-DVU) that received a Fan Error at boot up.  I replaced it with a new fan (am sure it is correct fru) and the fan is working fine.  The temperatures are also fine on the unit (I can hear the fan, feel it blow out heat - bottom line the fan is working).  I have reseated the unit a few times - made sure thermal paste is correct - connector to motherboard is connected (otherwise the fan will not work).  I can ESC to bypass the error and run what appears normally.  I don't think I have a fan error, except in the mind of a deranged motherboard, perhaps.  I have 2 pronged question to throw out.
Would eveyone agree that this probably a motherboard problem or a fuse on the motherboard problem?
Secondly, since the unit is out of warranty, would you bother to replace the motherboard,or would you just hit the escape key and live with it. ( I know this is just an opinion in most regards, but just wondering if it's worth fixing just to avoid a keystroke at boot time).
    Thanks

I'd be guessing something along the lines of a thermal sensor gone haywire.
If the machine were mine, I'd run it until it dies and then swap the planar if the rest of the laptop is still in good shape. But it's your ThinkPad.
    My $0.02 only...
    Good luck.

  • Error message when starting MaxDB instance

I am getting the following Error message when starting the MaxDB instance after a series of failed attempts at starting the DB Manager Backup for our PI 7.1 server.
    "-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error
1,Cannot create ipc db directories for SID (OS error code 11000)"
    Max DB version : 7.7.02
Does anyone have any specific pointers on where the issue could be.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi gurus,
I'm a complete newbye searching the forums in order to decrypt what is inconsistent to me (I'm acting as a substitute for a real dba): a sapdb refusing any more connection due to an 'user space exhausted' issue.
I do not even know if/where some admin tool is/isn't installed - eventually, what to look for - onto the running demianapachetomcat framework. Actually, all I have been provided was: 1. call 'Henplus' (done); 2. connect this way (jdbc:sapdb://localhost/database&options) and 3. select, upgrade, delete what needed. Problem arises on point (2): connection resufed 'user space exhausted'.
My question is: this issue seems so similar to mine, how can one eventually check/modify this '/sapdb directory space'?
Thanks in advance for any (much appreciated) hint, and be patient about my English and newbyeness (?).

I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?  I opened the hard drive and from the column on the left of the menu I've selected "search for" and under that " all images" then "all documents"  I've deleted a few files from each. Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

Just installed Firefox 3.6. Firefox will not start and Firefox safemode does not start either. Using Task manager I do not see if started either. If I create a new profile and start from that window, Firefox starts up. I see no error windows/messages. I do have it listed in my Firewall as an exception program with Permit All. What is happening?

  • Error message on start up "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit"

Error message on start up "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" I uninstalled and downloaded it again and still get the same error.  At this rate I won't have any chance to use the 30 day trial period as it simply isn't working.  I have see suggestions elsewhere to delete a particular file, but I don't have it.  Any ideas?

You need to trash the preview cache. It’s in the main catalog folder.
Delete the folder with the ending Previews.lrdata
The default location for the Lightroom folder is normally Pictures/My Pictures if you did a standard installation.
N.B. do not touch files ending .lrcat

    Hi Pavan,
Check if you're connected with <SID>adm on OS as said Pinkle and if that user belongs to administrators group.
If yes you can check if the SAP<SID><Instance_number> and SAPOSCOL are started (and in automaticaly start mode).

Your problem is an OS, not Oracle problem, so it wouldn't help to play around with different init.ora parameters, as long as the basic problem persists. The note addresses W2K, you are on W2003, that may the reason for the different OSD error numbers.
