Fan on Top Card Touching Bottom Card

How safe is it to wedge these 2 cards apart? My 1st thought was to use a wedge, then a non-conductive wedge, then, immediately, a wooden clothespin came to mind. I removed the spring from the clothespin, reversed the 2 sides of the clothespin to create a wedge thick enough to prise the cards slightly apart so the top cards fan wouldn't touch the top of the second card. I placed the clothespin halves just between the cards at the power connections, on the end of the cards towards the front of the computer. I eased the clothespin halves in very gently until it looked as if the top fan wasn't touching the 2nd card and then turned the computer on.
Then I eased the clothespin out until the fan just started to hit the 2nd card and pushed it back in just until the fan was clear.
This isn't putting any large bend in the cards, of course, but it's still apparent that there is a tiny bend in the cards. Will this harm these cards or their sockets if left this way or should I break out an ASUS Rampage 3 Extreme mobo I've stashed away (brand new, never been mounted) where this problem will not happen due to the wide spacing of the slots on that board?

2 MSI GTX580 Lightning [email protected] 921/1842/2300 (Top card runs 6C to 15C hotter than the other. 35C & 29C Idle and 77C & 64C Stressed)
Corsair AX1200
Mushkin Redline 2x4GB 1866MHz. and a matched pair ready for install
Corsair 700D Case
Corsair H100 cooler w/4 fans in push/pull (Temps 30C idle-65 Max under any high stress program)
Crucial M4 256GB SSD
2 WD 1TB HDD's
I guess all I'm asking is if this small bend in these cards will hurt anything or not. I obviously prefer to keep using this Maximus IV mobo since it's the 1st I've ever owned that can easily run at 5GHz 24x365. BTW: My ambient room temp. is 72F (22.2C) 24x365.
If this wedge is safe to use, I'll mark where it goes between the cards, remove and hot-glue the pieces together, cut the piece I'll use off and paint it black so it'll not be too obvious.
I almost forgot. I will not be moving this computer anywhere at all with this wedge in place. It's so heavy I can't even pick it up anyway.

Thanks. I fixed it easily enough. Someone in another Forum asked why I didn't just drop the bottom card down one more slot.
I was just going by what ASUS said to do with a pair of cards in SLi and it turns out they were wrong. The manuals ASUS puts in with their products are notorious for being wrong.
I just did as I said and then ran 3DMark 11 and compared the results of using the 3rd PCIe x16 slot vs. the second slot. I actually gained a few points. The temps. went down considerably with the top card just getting about 2C hotter than the 2nd card. That's with the side panel off. When I put the side panel back on this Corsair 700D, with a modded window from PerformancePC's, http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=130_132_1015&products_id=32142, and a pair of 140mm fans, the temps. lowered a bit with the same 2C difference. Now these cards both idle at 27C. OC'd and after a few runs of Kombuster and 3DMark 11 the max temps. are now 66C top card and 64C bottom, according to the GPU-Z logs.
No SLi micro-stuttering or any other apparent problem with SLi compared to the 1st time I tried SLi, with another brand of GTX470's.
I'm so damned happy with this entire computer now that I can't begin to wipe the silly grin off of my face! I don't think I'll have any reason whatsoever to try the next generation of Nvidia based cards. Unless there's a GTX690, that is. But more likely the series after that (Maxwell?).

We're using RDLC-Files to create some word reports.
In our previous version, where we used RDL-Files on SQL 2008 R2, the Margin-Properties (Header from Top / Footer from Bottom) didn't get set at all an was always 0.
This behaviour was reported, but marked by Microsoft as 'By design'. Since I can't post a link, just google for
"Word export sets margin-top, margin-bottom to 0mm".
Interesting enought, on our new Version with RDLC, this properties are always set to 1.27cm, but ignore the Margin-Properties of the Report-Page at all.
Since we'd like to port our reports from the old RDLs to the new RDLCs, it would be the easiest way, if we could kindahow set these two properties.
But so far I didn't find a possiblity. Is there one, to tell the Word-Renderer what we'd like to set there?

Top N and Bottom N

Hi, I have a question about using the top N and bottom N conditions in a query. If I set my condition to show the bottom 1, and there are multiple rows that have 0%, then how does the query determine which row to display as the bottom 1?
I ask this because I have such a query and result set as described above. The bottom 1 that is returned actually shows up in the middle of the list when I display all rows.

this is an excellent question. It took me a while to find the answer. The OLAP engine is using the standard ABAP SORT statement to rank the values.
TOP N:
SORT c_t_rank BY value DESCENDING.
BOTTOM N:
SORT c_t_rank BY value.
Now the SORT statement does not preserve the original order of the records. If values are identical, the outcome of the sort is not defined. Potenially it could be different every time you execute the query. The SORT statement also has an option to preserve the order of the records, but because this has a performance impact, it is not used by the OLAP engine.

Make a copy of the table and produce your Line chart or Bar chart from the copy. Sort the copy into the order you want to see in your chart.
Alternately you could use a Scatter Chart...

Darker top third and bottom third this AM

I came down this morning and when I woke the computer [PowermacG5] from sleep saw something I'd never seen before = my 30" ACD came up and the top and the bottom 1/3 were darker than the middle 1/3 - I checked the pref. and adjusted the brightness but it didn't improve it = I then rebooted the whole computer and now it's gone = I'm certainly glad it's gone but thought I would ask whether anyone knows the cause/fix etc.
I had just upgraded to 10.4.9 but don't see the correlation, at least yet

Normally a partially dimmed LCD indicates a problem with the back light(s). Assuming the 30" ACD has three (top, middle and bottom), it seems unlikely though that two would temporarily fail simultaneously and then work again after a reboot. I guess one option would be to keep an eye on it to see whether it happens again.

Unwanted margin-top and margin-bottom styles

Editing a template-based page in Contribute CS3, there is no
List Properties option (Help file says "Note: This option is not
available for template-based pages or in tables.")
So how do I specify a class for a <ul> entry?
If I create the text first with a chosen class, then convert
to "Bulleted List", I end up with:

- which is not what I want (I want to set a non-zero bottom

From what I know, in Contribute their is some tag users can't
apply style on.
Typical are <div> and <ul>, mainly because you
can't create them or select them. Only the CSS can give style to
these elements and have to be defined by the website
admin/designer.
If their is no style, default will apply (and margin depends
from browser). And if the way paragraph are marked (see
Admin>Users>Modify, Space between paragraphs either one line
using CSS and will ad inline styles to your tag <ul
style="margin: 0 0;" or two line using <p> which let
everything be controlled by the CSS.
A trick is to have a class style defined in the CSS and a
template element where users can apply the style.
For exemple putting a div in a table cell (I know this is
hell) in your editable region in your Template will allow users to
apply the class style to the selection (the table) and the cascade
will apply the style to the div or your list.
CSS:
table div, table ul {
margin: 0 0 2em 0;
or
td div , td ul {
margin: 0 0 2em 0;
But again, you need to be or have a very kind webmaster.
Usually, list are already design in the CSS by the webmaster
depending the region you are, exemple:
#content ul {
margin: 0 0 2em 0;
#head ul {
margin: 0.5em 0 1em 0;

I need to trim off x number of pixels from the top, y number of pixels from the bottom, and z number of pixels from both sides from a bunch of screenshots. I'm looking for a way to batch process this, and first I thought of creating an action, but I can't find a tool that will let me remove different (predetermined) numbers of pixels from different sides.
In this instance I need to remove 24 pixels from the top, 15 from the bottom and 8 from the sides, but if there is a way to make a script or action where each value can be input before batch processing that would be great (top, left, right, bottom). Not all screenshots need the same amount of trimming/cropping.
Any ideas on how to do this?

I think you should be able to do this using Image/Canvas Size, you can use Relative mode and then anchor the image accordingly. You will have to do it several times, but I think it should work and be recordable as an action..

Larger Ram card in top slot or bottom?

I have a 1 Gig ram card and a 512 card for my 15" G4. Does is matter which card goes in what slot? For instance, would I get better performance if I placed the 1 Gig card on the bottom or the top? Or does it even matter? Thanks. Jim

It is always good to tell the company (when you order) what model you want the memory for. A good company will double check for you. As far as I know, both are good companies.
Apple spec shows your machine to hold maximum 2gb of memory. You can only use max 4x 512 mb memory. You CAN'T use 1gb memory modules.

Yep, all the old, excellent AC coolers are hard to find.
I'm hoping the article will show that it's not a difficult process, and from other links on the page, there are other options.
A Google of "7800GT VGA cooler" will give some good options.
Thermaltake, Zalman, Vantec, Akasa, etc., all have options.

Top Card of CardLayout

Hi, I have a JPanel 'mainPanel' with CardLayout. I add several JPanel (p1, p2, ...) to the 'mainPanel'. During runtime of the application I switch between the card using the show(...)-Methode of CardLayout.
Is there any possibility to ask the CardLayout witch card/panel is on top (other Components such as JTabbedPane can be asked that - getSelectedComponent()). I expect to find a methode like 'getActualShownComponent()' or something like that.
Can anybody help ?
