FAQ: Can I use the Photoshop CS6 beta in my production environment?

Although some may find the Photoshop CS6 beta quality good enough to use in a production environment, the nature of beta software is that it is not production quality, so not everything may work as expected. Customers should be aware that Adobe will not offer any technical support for the Photoshop CS6 beta.

Please quit/close Lightroom 4, and any other Adobe software on your system, prior to installing the Photoshop CS6 Extended Beta:
If you encounter the dialog (below) that references the background process named 'dynamiclinkmanager' during installation, please quit Lightroom 4, and any other Adobe software on your system. Then click [Continue] to continue the installation of Adobe Photoshop CS6:

  • FAQ: How do I activate the Photoshop CS6 beta?

You will be prompted to activate the Photoshop CS6 beta as a part of the installation. The following activation requirements will need to be completed within seven days after first launch of the Photoshop CS6 beta or it will stop working:
Log in with an Adobe ID
    Activate the product online
If you already have an Adobe ID, you should use that one. If you do not have one, you will be prompted to create an Adobe ID as part of the Photoshop CS6 beta installation and activation process.
You must have internet access to activate the product. If you are temporarily offline during the installation process, you have a seven-day grace period after first launch of the beta during which you can connect to the Internet and perform the activation. You cannot activate the Photoshop CS6 beta on a computer that is permanently offline.  Once you have completed the activation process, you no longer need to be online to use the beta.

Migrating Presets does not require a network connection and you can still migrate your cc presets if you still have CC installed.  Use Photoshop menu Edit>Presets>Migrate Presets...  Migrating presets only migrates presets.  It does not migrate Plugins, settings, extensions and scripts.  CC 2014 is also not completely backwards compatible with CC.  Support for Flash Panels and Oil Painter filter have been removed.  So extensions like mini bridge no longer work in CC 2014

  • FAQ: Do I need a serial number to install the Photoshop CS6 Beta?

No. When you begin the Photoshop CS6 beta installation process, you will be presented with a Welcome Screen. To install the Photoshop CS6 beta, simply select the option labeled "Try. I want to try Adobe Photoshop CS6 for a limited time." Do not select the option labeled "Install. I have a serial number."

  • How long will the Photoshop CS6 Beta be active for?

    Hi
I would like to know how long will the Photoshop CS6 Beta be active for. As a VFX Artist I will be testing CS6 in a production environment to improve workflow. Some of the features I want to be able to use won't happen for a few weeks yet as I'm awaiting content. I just basically would like to know that If I install CS6 now, will it expire in a few weeks or on 30 days? If it's very limited, I'd rather wait than have it expire on be before I can test it properly.
    Thanks.
    Mike.

Please see FAQ post regarding beta duration

  • Is it necessary to remove the Photoshop CS6 Beta before installing the trial?

I installed the CS6 Design and Web Premium trial while I wait for my ordered update disk to arrive.  I have the PS CS6 Beta installed and I note that the trial installation did not install CS6 Photoshop or CS6 Bridge.  ????????????

In the future please remove beta software prior to installing released versions of the software.  Presently I would recommend you uninstall not only the Photoshop CS6 beta but also the Design and Web Premium trials as well.  Once the software has been removed, including the beta, you can then try the reinstall again.
Hopefully it will be as simple as this but if not please feel free to respond to this thread with any additional difficulties which arise.

    Hello,
see >>> http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html  here >>> How many computers can I install on
I quote: You may install software on up to two computers. These two computers can be Windows, Mac OS, or one each.
If you install on a third computer, it will request you to de-activate on the other two computers. You can then reactivate one of the previous two computers, and use Creative Cloud apps on it.
    Good luck!

  • FAQ: Will I get a discount on Photoshop CS6 if I download the Photoshop CS6 beta?

There are no discounts planned for Photoshop CS6 beta users.

It might be possible, though you will have to check with Adobe directly.  Normally, an upgrade involves going from a product to a product or from a suite to a suite, but not a product to a suite or vice versa.  And I don't know that this would be an upgrade since you are moving laterally rather than up.  I have heard of exceptions being made, so your best bet is to contact someone who has the ability to work out a deal with you.
I am pretty sure that if you had a Creative Cloud subscription the question of Mac versus PC is moot as you can have installations for both machines with the subscription.  But Creative Suites are different animals.

  • Can I purchase the Photoshop CS6 student version in this educational stage? When does it expire?

Hi! I'm from Spain. I'm in a educational stage that would be more or less equivalent to what you call high school. This stage here is called "bachillerato". Does anyone know if at this stage I have rights to buy and use legally the Photoshop CS6 Extended student version for learning and earning money with commercial projects like games with some elements made with that version of Photoshop? Please only answer if you really know the answer, please don't simply say "yes" because in other countries you can get the version because of beeing in high school, because this is not exactly the same as high school.
And, if I can get the license and use it legally that way: when does it expire in this to cases?
    A) I don't go to University. Would it expire when I finish "bachillerato". Or when?
    B) I go to University but I don't study anything related with Photoshop.
I know that if I study something related with Photoshop in University I can use the student version then.

I would contact Adobe España Customer support, as they should know the full qualifications for "educational" accreditations there.
As for the university qualification, one does not normally need to be pursuing a degree, that would use Photoshop, to qualify for the "educational" discount - just full student, or teacher, accreditation - but that might differ in Spain?
Also, for many years now, Adobe has removed the restriction on doing commercial work (for pay) with the educational version, and that should be universal, and not just limited to certain countries, but it might pay to ask that question of Customer Support.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
