FarmVille's notice to stop supporting apps on iPad & iPhone

I sent this to FarmVille tech support.
I'm sure if 11 million people complain to Zynga about using a proprietary format, Zynga will do something about making their game available on mobile devices.
Dear tech support,
You have created a fun game FarmVille and it is fun to play with friends and neighbors. Creates supporting each other and helping our neighbor. Which is how we should live real life.
Being able to use the apps you have had for iPhone & iPad has been Important to me and all other owners of these devices. I recommend you adapt the app for FarmVille and support owners that are currently using FarmVille apps. The FarmVille to go is too limited and does not give the option to see my farm. I'm neighbors with people from all over the world.
If you have had the app this long why not continue it's development and make improvements rather than just post a message that you are not going to support as of 8/1/12. Goodness gracious think about your customers and fix this.
I hope this goes to the board of directors for zanga and doesn't just send me the computer generated pat answers.

You can keep the same Apple ID for purchases, but set up her own iCloud account for email and syncing.
You can easily and effectively use the same ID for purchases.
What you do is use the apple ID you have been using for app/book/movie/music purchases. In Settings > Store, make sure you are using your usual apple ID.
Then, set up an icloud (@me.com) account for you on your phone, and one for your daughter on her phone. In Settings > iCloud, make sure each of you are using your new iCloud accounts, and not your Apple ID.
Also, in Settings > Messages > Receive At, make sure you are using your iCloud accounts
This way, all of your purchases are using one account, and you can effectively use iCloud.

Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.

What does http://developer.apple.com/ have to do with reviewing an app? Why aren't you downloading from the App Store?
I've never had any login there result in a request for any app....
The Dev Center is as safe as your logon...

If we upgrade to a Professional Edition DPS license can we create an unlimited number of Single edition apps for iPad, iPhone and Android devices?

I work for a organisation based in Sydney and we have a team license for creative cloud (single edition).
We have been producing single folio apps for the iPad and want to continue this through 2015.
At the moment we can only create apps for the iPad platform. If we upgrade to a Professional Edition DPS license can we create an unlimited number of Single edition apps for iPad, iPhone and Android devices?
We do not need multi-folio apps as we are not a publishing company.

Unless there is a specific Mac OS X version you won't be able to run it on your computer.

We are all fellow users on here and not Apple employees so cannot send anything like you ask. You can check for apps by tapping the icon for the App Store, blue button with an A inside a circle, and then browse through all of the apps that are available...there are thousands so choose a category and explore what you can get.

Itunes 11.4 crashes when syncing apps to ipad / iphone

hey everyone, maybe the knowledge of the many may help, as I am rather at a loss right now!
after installing itunes 11.4, my trouble started! running 64 bit version on windows 8.1 - and latest iOS on both devices
all windows updates installed, all drivers for whatever is running on this machien are also up to date
connecting either ipad or iphone to computer, when itunes starts to sync, it gets to the point of "syncing apps to iPAD", it tries to add the first app - and crashes for good!
and yep, I went thru all the suggested thingies recommended on here:

Also using iTunes 11.4 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit. Crashes in the "syncing apps" stage. Happens on two different user accounts, one using an iPod Touch and one using an iPhone 5.
Clean uninstall/reinstall doesn't make any difference. Safe mode doesn't make any difference (no plug-ins installed).
Stack trace shows an unknown routine in iTunesMobileDevice.dll calling Microsoft C++ runtime routine _wstat32i64 with a null name parameter. This is definitely an iTunes 11.4 bug.

AiO Remote app on iPad/iPhone does not find M1217nfw

Hi,
I have a M1217nfw setup on my WiFi network. I can use Airprint from my iPad or iPhone to print on it - works fine. However I want to use the AiO Remote app on my iPad or iPhone to scan documents from this printer to my iPad/iPhone.
The problem is that when I try to use the app it tells me that it cannot find any printer! I upgraded the firmware on the printer - still no go.
I even tried to connect it using the HP Wireless Direct options - still no go.
Treid to connect using the printer's IP address - still no go.
According to the document http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03843137&sp4ts.oid=2... - the M1217nfw is supported by the AiO Remote app.
Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated!

I have included the HP All-in-One Printer Remote Mobile App FAQs document. It has a section dedicated to the printers that support this app and the Laserjet 1217nfw printer is not supported by the app. I have notified the appropriate department regarding the document.

TS1741 Apple remote app on iPad & iPhone cannot find library

I have used the Apple remote app on my ipad in the past, controlling my computer and also my stereo using airport express. I haven't used it in a few months, decided to have another look at it and have run into trouble. I keep getting 'could not find' when I try to add my itunes library.
Itunes can see my iPad, when I try to add the library it pops up in ituned to put the passcode in. My wifi is working fine in the house on both iPad and iPhone. I have deleted and re-added the app, upgraded to the new itunes, restarted computer, tried using the Remote App on my iphone. All the same thing. I've also done everything in the help section for the problem.
Please help, I really need this to work as we are having a big party and was going to use this instead of a juke box.

Try quitting the app and then reset your iPad.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it jiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Unable to download new apps on iPad, iPhone, and in iTunes

I download LOTS of apps and they are all still working fine. Last weekend I tried to download a few new apps and they wouldn't download. (This also happens with updates.) On my iPad they would load 3/4 of the way and start over...and over again. On my computer they would download to the end and start over several times and the fourth time, they would restart. "File corrupted .err=1000000" came up and then the message "To redownload the file, choose check for downloads". It's the same story on the iPhone as the iPad. Also, when I am on the computer in iTunes and I try to delete the apps that won't download, I highlight them and hit delete, they go, only to have them return again...so, I can't eliminate them.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

For your MB, go under the Apple Menu and select 'Software Update'.
For your iOS device, using iTunes and with the device connected, click the 'Check for Updates' button on your main 'Summary' page.
That should update your MB to 10.6.5 and your iOS devices to 4.2.1. That's assuming you have devices that can handle the latest versions of the software. Some older iOS devices can't upgrade and are stuck at lower software versions.

Why has the Chromcast icon vanished from the HBOgo app for iPad /iPhone?

I have successfully casted to my Chromcast through the HBOgo app in the recent past. I thought it was the fact that I unknowingly had automatic updates turned on (D'OH!) & it was the most recent update that caused the icon's disappearance. However, I have definitely cast from the HBOgo app since the last update on June 24.
THIS IS MAKING ME SO CRAZY! I have tried restarting the iPad, and scoured the web for solutions. No luck thus far to resolve the issue, only one other person mentioning in their reviews of the HBOgo app that the latest update caused their Chromecast button to disappear as well. It is especially troubling because the addition of the ability to cast to your Chromecast was only a few updates ago for the HBOgo app!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was using the Chromecast feature on the HBOgo app almost daily & now its gone
