Fascinate screen wont turn off.. draining battery
I just recently had verizon yet again send me another fascinate. This time I updated to the newest software, did the *228 thing and still have this problem. It doesnt happen all the time but about 50% of the time when using the phone I press the button to turn off the screen and all i get is a screen capture. This happens enough to where the phone remains on even through I have the screen timer to go off in 15 sec and constantly runs the battery down. The screen only goes off if I take the back of the phone off and unplug the battery.
anyone else having this issue?

Hit the back button a few times and see if that helps. Mine does that from time to time, and the way I fix it is just to hit the button a couple times, and it is fine.

The standby screen of my nokia lumia 710 wont turn off. I powers off when i hit the standby button but when i recieve a new email/whatsapp the screen stays on for hours resulting in a battery life of max a half day. It started a week ago an I did a hard resut in order to solve the problem but it didn't help.
What can be a good solution?

I was using my 3G ipod touch and i slid the power off button to turn it off and the loading screen before it shuts off wont allow my ipod to turn off. i cant do anything because my ipod has the loading screen still on it. HELP!!
Try a hard reset. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Then try shutting your iPod off again.

Ipod screen wont turn off when recharging
I have an 80Gig Ipod Video.
Right now I am charging it via USB on my computer and the screen does not turn off.
Is there something wrong with the Ipod?
Can someone help me?
Ive read the other threads about holding down the Menu and select button and have rebooted it several times
As well and jostling the hold button on and off.
Isnt the backlight supposed to turn off the screen while recharging?
thanks for the help. The screen stays lit up so you can see what your ipod is doing while its plugged in. IE: OK TO DISCONNECT, or SYNC IN PROGRESS/EJECT BEFORE DISCONNECTING
If you see the OK to disconnect text try closing itunes completely, this will let your ipod know its not in use. -
IOS 5.0.1 Notification Center not actually turned off, draining battery
Before iOS 5 upgrade, I deleted Trapster after use, and I would not receive any more alert.
After iOS 5 upgrade, I experienced crazy battery drainage. I turned off the diagnosis and usage, and chose Do Not Send. Not helpful to save battery life.
After iOS 5.0.1 upgrade, battery drainage has been varied between 8% to 15% per hour, even worse!
I found a few problems:
1. After using Trapster, and deleted it from memory, while the notification was set as OFF, though alert was set to Banner in the Notification Center, the Alerts still appear when Locked on. I changed the Alert from Banner to None, but without reset the iPhone, later in the day, Trapster still gave me a few banners alert, though it was not in the memory.
2. Sometimes my iPhone 4S has hot rim while no app in memory and in sleep mode, charging or non-charging. I ran System Activity Monitor app and found that 45%-65% CPU resources are being used. For no intervention at all, it will drop back to 2% to 5% after a few minutes and the battery dropped 5%- 15% within that period.
3. After taking photos with the Camera while Options HDR is ON, even though the Camera app was deleted, the iPhone 4S remains hot or even getting hotter. (Sometimes I could get the same result when tests were repeated but not always.)
I have 10 apps set ON at Notification Center, but Trapster is one of the 37 apps Not in Notification Center.
I am thinking that the Location Services (as in Camera) and Notification Center are not actually able to turn off, even though you may have actually turned them off.
I have 2 iPhone 4S. This is about the one upgraded from iPhone 3GS.
Another iPhone 4S, which upgraded from iPod 2G, has no battery drainage problem from day one.Since I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 I have a problem with the camera (no zoom). The iOS 5 has got many problems it appears.

when I make a call and hold the phone up to my face the screen does not turn off and my face will hit the mute button this is a iphone5 with a lifeproof case
Hello byoung9862,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when on calls with your iPhone. I recommend following the steps below for this specific issue:
Screen will not lock or go black when answering calls
Verify mute or speaker have not been activated, just prior to placing your ear over the receiver.
While on a call hold your hand over the top third of the display, and verify that the screen is locked or goes to sleep.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

Screen wont turn off. iPod and youtube wont play
1- When not active the screen will not shut off unless I do it manually 2. In both iPod and youtube it will not play music, If I hit the play button it plays for a second then goes back on pause. I have restarted and even reset. After the reset it worked for a little bit then went back to doing the same thing.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My screen wont turn on, and the screen is black. It was working fine, but then it just turned off. The only way it will work is if I close my laptop, and pinch the two screens together
You have a hardware problem and you should take it into a apple store to be looked at and fixed.
